Who were the best LGBTQ couples in daytime soap opera history? The sad truth is that there aren’t that many to choose from. Despite the shows dipping their toes in the water with queer characters and storylines in the 1990s — like Ryan Phillippe as groundbreaking gay teen Billy Douglas on “One Life to Live” from 1992 to 1993 — the show shied away from romance for its queer characters until the 21st century. Scroll down to read some of our forum posters’ favorites below.

Soap opera productions have shut down out of precaution during the coronavirus pandemic, so “General Hospital” star Nancy Lee Grahn, who has played lawyer Alexis Davis on the ABC serial for more than 20 years, has taken to the web. On March 20 she and co-host Kaore Bonell shared the first episode of their at-home talk show “Soaps in Quarantine” where they interview colleagues James Patrick Stuart (Valentin Cassadine on “Gh”) and Michelle Stafford (Phyllis Summers on “The Young and the Restless”). Watch above.

The coronavirus pandemic has thrown the entertainment industry into turmoil, shuttering a number of TV shows from late night to daytime. That includes the ABC soap “General Hospital” — and let’s hope that’s the only hospital closure we have to worry about. That reminded me of the time when “Gh” itself dramatized a viral epidemic. In 2006 a highly contagious encephalitis tore through the town of Port Charles, killing Dr. Tony Jones (Brad Maule). If you’ve got time on your hands due to business closures and social distancing, relive his heartbreaking last scenes above.

In what hopefully will not be a scary metaphor for the American health care system, “General Hospital” joins the list of TV and film productions that have been shut down by coronavirus pandemic. It ceased production starting Monday, March 16, and will be shuttered until April 10, but ABC doesn’t currently expect any interruption of the show’s broadcast schedule.
“Gh” is no stranger to medical crises on screen, of course. The series is set in the title hospital in the fictional town of Port Charles, New York. In 2006 the show even featured its own viral outbreak, during which writers killed off characters Tony Jones (Brad Maule) and Courtney Matthews (Alicia Leigh Willis). Few could have anticipated that an off-screen health crisis would have an even more drastic effect on the series.

Family is complicated.
It was a slower hour, and A Million Little Things Season 2 Episode 3, put the "little things" in A Million Little Things by focusing on the small parts of life engagingly.
The hour dropped little bits of information to file away for later, allowed the characters to realize some things about themselves, and explored love in all of its layers.
We're not closer to knowing who Jason Ritter's character is on the series. We've only seen him twice, and yet it already feels like the revelation is being dragged out.
Just tell us, already! We do know his name is Eric. However, is he an Eric with a "c" or an Erik with a "k?"
Related: A Million Little Things Round Table: Who is Jason Ritter's "Mystery Man?"
Everyone knows there's a difference. Eriks tend to be evil or shady. Apologies to the Eriks out there, but narratively it's true.

File this one under the most surprising news of the month.
Brad Maule has reportedly closed a deal to return to General Hospital.
Now, you may be wondering how that might be possible given that Maule's character, Tony Jones, died 13 years ago on the ABC soap.
We have an answer.
Per TV Line, Maule will be back for a guest stint, but he won't be alive.
Instead, multiple sources have confirmed to the outlet that Tony will be back as a ghost.
Soaps have a knack for bringing characters back from the dead, and it's a tired old trope, so bringing the character back as a ghost is probably a good idea.
Rumors about Maule's return emerged when Maule's former co-star, Leslie Charleson, took to Twitter with a photo of the actor on the set of the daytime soap.

We gave y'all a sneak peak back in January for Joe R. Lansdale's Christmas With The Dead and today we have some teaser art for you to check out courtesy of Aith. Now I know, it's a long time before Christmas rolls around again but I think this crew is simply getting the jump on things and everyone else. Brian James Fitzpatrick will be directing with FX work by Marcus Koch. Damian Maffei, Brad Maule, and Joe's daughter Kasey Lansdale are set to star. Plot: It was a foolish thing to do, and Calvin had not bothered with it the past two years, not since the death of his wife and child. But this year he decided, quite suddenly, that tomorrow was Christmas Eve. And zombies be damned, the lights and decorations are going up...

Then on February 1, 2003 the Space Shuttle Columbia broke up during re-entry into the Earth’s atmosphere; much of the debris fell on Nacogdoches and suddenly Nacogdoches skyrocketed to international headlines... ...And from the debris of the Columbia -- and I mean this quite literally, as they construct their drum set out of space shuttle debris -- arises the great rock band Country Willie & the Cosmic Debris. Lead singer Country Willie Edwards, guitarist Zack Jones and drummer Brad Maule soon receive...
