- In the mid to late 1970s he starred in a series for Toronto's TVOntario called 'Magee & Company', in which he played numerous characters, including Fred C. Dobbs.
- In The Real Magees (1973), actor, comic and horse racing commentator Michael Magee and wife Duddie were the hosts of this weekday, half hour talk show, chatting informally with non-celebrities, such as a cab driver, ambulance driver and nightclub bouncer. Bob Weinstein produced the series in Montreal for Screen Gems and the CBC.
- Began his radio career in Vancouver, BC by creating fictitious characters who were then interviewed by staff announcers. Much of his television and radio work involved Magee in the form of Dobbs, or one of more than a dozen other characters he created, such as J. Carter Hughes, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Dominion Gas and Screw Co. Ltd.
- On April 24, 1978 appeared in character as Fred C Dobbs on 90 Minutes Live in Toronto, with host Peter Gzowski.

- (1980) Radio: He, Doug Hall and Larry Solway were hired to fill in on CKFH's talk show.
