Tom Lopez, AKA Meatball Fulton, is one of the founders and President of
the ZBS Foundation. The ZBS foundation is a not-for-profit arts
organization, founded in 1970 by a grant from Robert E. Durance. The
foundation's purpose is to raise consciousness through media,
specifically full cast audio productions. Meatball Fulton writes and
produces the bulk of ZBS foundation productions. This body of work
includes the entire "Jack Flanders" and "Ruby: Galactic Gumshoe"
series. His stories are identified by fun and insightful (sometimes
transcendental) plots, the occasional reference to fifties music, and
lots of puns. Meatball also travels widely, recording environments from
such locations as Morocco, Spain, France, Ireland, Mexico, India, Bali,
Sumatra, Java, Rio, the Amazon, and all over the United States. These
lush recordings are used as the background to ZBS audio adventures.
Meatball has conducted several audio interviews featuring talent such
as Jimi Hendrix, Don Van Vliet of "Captain Beefheart and the Magic
Band," Mel Blanks, Paul Bowles, and Dinotopia's James Gurney. He has
recorded a music album with Abbie Hoffman, and appeared in an
experimental film directed by Yoko Ono. Meatball Fulton, AKA Tom Lopez,
continues to write stories for the ZBS foundation and pursue a lifelong
goal of mischief making.
