Jack Black is back as Po in the trailer for "Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight," which looks like a lot of fun. The upcoming animated series features Po as "The Dragon Master," although it seems to be more of a pending title as opposed to him actually embodying it. Black voiced Po in the original 2008 film, "Kung Fu Panda" and its subsequent sequels that were released in 2011 and 2016.
After being accused of destroying a village, Po crosses paths with English knight Wandering Blade (Rita Ora), who joins him in his quest for "redemption and justice." Poor...

It’s a relatively quiet week for home entertainment releases, but Tuesday is playing host to one of my favorite films of the year, Ready or Not, which makes December 3rd feel like an early Christmas to this writer. Scream Factory is showing some love to John Carpenter’s Big Trouble in Little China with multiple editions (including the standard Collector’s Edition as well as the absolutely gorgeous limited edition Steelbook), and Konga, one of my favorite cult films (thank you Terror in the Aisles!) is headed to Blu on Tuesday, courtesy of Kino Lorber.
Other Blu-ray and DVD releases for December 3rd include Boar, Christmas Presence, Game of Thrones: The Complete Eighth Season, Game of Thrones: The Complete Series, and 1 Must Fall.

While John Carpenter's Big Trouble in Little China is infinitely quotable thanks to Kurt Russell's performance as the imperfect protagonist Jack Burton, every great reluctant hero needs a great villain, and James Hong's portrayal of the evil Lo Pan gave us a character who is just as memorable as his truck-driving counterpart. With Big Trouble in Little China coming to Blu-ray like never before in a new Collector's Edition on December 3rd from Scream Factory, we've been provided with an exclusive bonus feature clip featuring Hong to share with Daily Dead readers!
Taken from "The Soul of Lo Pan" bonus feature on the Big Trouble in Little China Collector's Edition Blu-ray, our exclusive clip below features Hong reflecting on some of his most memorable moments playing Lo Pan, including how Carpenter and his crew used practical effects and ingenuity to pull off Lo Pan's glowing transformation and floating ability.

Canadian musician/producer Claire Boucher, aka Grimes, is no stranger to physically intensive routines. While making her 2012 album Visions, she infamously barricaded herself inside a room for nine days without food, sleep or visitors. “Once you hit day nine, you start accessing some really crazy shit,” she told The Guardian. “You have no stimulation, so your subconscious starts filling in the blanks. I started to feel like I was channelling spirits. I was convinced my music was a gift from God. It was like I knew exactly what to do next,...

[Note: With the film due for a UK release this week, here’s a reposting of my review of Bernard Rose’s Frankenstein from last summer’s London Frightfest]
Helmed by Bernard Rose, still best known for Candyman, this new take on Frankenstein explores the classic tale from the perspective of the monster rather than the scientist – recapturing what was so great about Mary Shelley’s original story, taking the themes she wrote about and giving them a very modern spin. So modern in fact that I’m positive it’s the first, and only time, we’ve been presented with a 3D-printed protagonist! It may sound crazy but the idea, given recent advances in the technology (only last week it was announced that fully working prosthetics for amputee’s can be 3D printed) is not that far-fetched.
You see, unlike previous iterations of the story, this Frankenstein’s monster, named ironcally Adam,...
