As two titans of Tinseltown in the 1980s and early 1990s, Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger found ideal rivals in one another and grew so competitive that the Hollywood heroes resorted to Machiavellian tactics to gain status as the world’s top action star, they revealed on Tuesday in a televised interview from TMZ.
The septuagenarian stars, who are now close friends, sat down for an hourlong primetime special called TMZ Presents: Arnold & Sly: Rivals, Friends, Icons, which debuted on Fox on Tuesday at 8 p.m. Et. With TMZ founder Harvey Levin taking on the interviewing honors, the two action flick legends discussed some revealing details of their past rivalry, the troubled childhoods both say they’ve overcome and the faces they’d place alongside their own on a hypothetical Mount Rushmore for action heroes.
“Well, what is your body fat?’” Schwarzenegger recalled while discussing the multifaceted rivalry. “I was down to 7 percent.

On an otherwise uneventful Friday evening, about 95 million people watched a white Ford Bronco slowly driving down the 5 freeway.
The driver of the car, of course, was O.J. Simpson, the NFL star turned actor and TV broadcaster, and that day he officially was named as a murder suspect in the deaths of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman.
America was glued to their TV sets, with the broadcast networks breaking into their regular programing, and the lone cable news channel CNN having its star host Larry King guide viewers through the action (watch it here).
The chase and subsequent trial (“The Trial of the Century,” as declared by multiple news outlets), with its live cameras in the courtroom, became gripping must-see TV. The not-guilty verdict — handed down at 10 a.m. on a weekday — was watched live by more than 150 million people (on day one of the 1991 Gulf War,...

The restructuring includes new senior leadership roles for Michael Thorn, who has been named President of the Fox Television Network, and Fernando Szew who will serve as Head of Fox Entertainment Studios. They will lead two of the three divisions, continuing to report to Wade. Fox’s Unscripted President Allison Wallach will be part of Szew’s team on the studio side.
The changes create a streamlined structure that keeps network, studio and distribution operations separate under different leaders as opposed to the previous setup where both the scripted and unscripted for network and studio were overseen by the same executive.

Bill Maher revealed that he sat down with Kanye West for a two-hour interview on his “Club Random” podcast, but he will not release the episode due to the disgraced rapper’s bigoted views against Jews.
“I thought it was going to be a learning moment,” Maher said on a Feb. 5 episode of “TMZ Investigates” centered on West, titled “Unhinged but Unstoppable.”
“We were here for two hours. By the way, we had an amazing, fun time,” Maher added. “He’s a very charming antisemite. And by the way, he’s not the only one in America who feels that way. It’s not like the Jews are universally loved except for Kanye West.”
Earlier in the interview, Maher said of West: “The problem, I think, is that he appeals mostly — of course he’s a rock star — to young people. They don’t know much and they surely don...

Early this morning a video began gaining steam online purporting that Danny Trejo refused a paid PR visit to Ukraine because President Volodymyr Zelensky’s office wanted a “kickback” from the sum paid to the Machete actor for the visit.
Deadline contacted Trejo’s representatives who confirmed that the entire story is false. Trejo was never invited to Ukraine by Zelensky. He was never offered a fee for such a trip. Zelensky’s office never asked for a kickback.
In other words – Trejo said, via his rep: “It never happened. Someone is making things up.”
The video cites “the actor’s manager Ryan Davis” as the source of the story. Trejo has no such representative and never has, per his actual representation.
Political journalist Brian Krassenstein was among those questioning the veracity of the video this morning.

On Oct. 28, TMZ was first to report Matthew Perry’s drowning death. The media outlet, which over the past two decades has become a byword for hard-edged celebrity coverage, cited law enforcement sources and ran a redacted audio clip it’d obtained of a dispatcher communicating with emergency personnel before running photos of the actor’s stricken parents arriving at his home.
The site has been renowned and reviled for such lightning scoops. Its casualties include Todd Fisher, who has uniquely experienced its force as a merciless reaper. TMZ broke the news of the death of his sister Carrie. Then, the next day, it was first to report that his mother, Debbie Reynolds, had been transported from his home, where she’d been discussing funeral plans for Carrie, to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center because of a possible stroke. (TMZ had audio of the dispatch call.) She soon died there. “They have...

In the ongoing saga of the fake death message posted Monday to Josh Seiter’s Instagram, the former “Bachelorette” contestant said on Wednesday that getting back into his social media account was his “top priority,” ahead of letting people know that he hadn’t really died.
In a video interview shared on TMZ, Seiter said, “I’m just a lowly mental health advocate. So I don’t have an official PR team or a team of experts that know how to handle this kind of a thing. And I’m not technologically savvy.”
He explained, “My priority was getting back into my Instagram account… that was my number one priority, and then dealing with the stress of it all it was just overwhelming.”
Seiter’s ex, Monica Beverly Hillz, told EW on Tuesday that she was glad he was still alive, but that she believed the death hoax was a “stunt” he had perpetrated himself.

The verdict is in: Syndicated court staples “Judge Mathis” and “The People’s Court” will both end their run at the end of this season, Variety has confirmed. “Judge Mathis” will wrap after 24 seasons, while this most recent iteration of “The People’s Court” wraps after its 26th season. Season 24 and Season 26, respectively.
Both shows come from Warner Bros. Unscripted Television in association with Telepictures Productions and are distributed by Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution. According to insiders, the decision was made due to the declining nature of the daytime syndication landscape. As local TV stations shrink their syndication dollars and the advertising marketplace shrinks for daytime syndication, first-run syndication has become a trickier landscape. At the same time, station groups have been expanding their local news broadcasts, also in a bid to save money.
“Judge Mathis” also comes from And Syndicated Productions, while “The People’s Court” is a Ralph Edwards/Stu Billett Production.

It’s nearly Christmas and we’ve got a present for you. Next week is TMZ’s (clearly delightful) holiday special “Merry Elfin’ Christmas,” but you don’t have to wait to see some of the yuletide, uh, delights from the snarkiest Tabloid show in America. Because we’ve got an exclusive sneak peak featuring rap star Post Malone.
In the clip, which you can watch exclusively on TheWrap at the top of the page, Post (Mr. Malone?) reveals to the TMZ gang one of the performers who’ll be joining Rihanna when she headlines Super Bowl Lvii in February: Himself.
“So if you had to guess – like, she hasn’t said who is coming out with her,” TMZ host Harvey Levin says in the clip.
“Sure,” Post Malone replies.
“Who do you think?” Levin asks.

New Fox Entertainment CEO Rob Wade has talked up the potential for TMZ to become a “huge entertainment studio,” setting out his stall at Mipcom Cannes for the first time since he replaced Charlie Collier.
TMZ was acquired last year from then-WarnerMedia, handing Fox control of TMZ’s linear, digital and experiential assets. Terms of the deal weren’t released but TMZ is being valued at less than 50 million, people familiar with the matter said.
“We feel there’s an opportunity for TMZ to be a huge entertainment studio,” said Wade. “21st Century Fox has allowed us to invest and acquire at a time when other networks are consolidating and spending less.”

The 50-year-old was found unresponsive in his Los Angeles home after suffering cardiac arrest brought on by the anesthetic propofol – a drug reportedly routinely administered by Jackson’s physician, Conrad Murray.
The death was ruled a homicide, and Murray took all the blame. He was convicted of involuntary manslaughter and was sentenced to four years in prison, serving just under two behind bars, reports nypost.com.
But Murray endured the brunt of public hatred even though Jackson, who would have turned 64 on Monday, was abusing drugs throughout much of his life in alarming doses and was allegedly easily enabled to do so by an array of other doctors – ones who never saw a day in jail after the King of Pop’s death, according to a new documentary ‘TMZ Investigates: Who Really Killed Michael Jackson...

Fox Corp. aims to rev up the tempo of its digital news, sports and lifestyle offerings now that the company has completed its acquisition of TMZ from WarnerMedia at a price tag estimated at around $50 million.
Fox has acquired all of the company behind the daily syndicated TV shows “TMZ” and “TMZ Live,” which have aired on Fox’s O&o stations since they debuted in 2007 and 2011, respectively. The TMZ production banner was founded in 2005 by Harvey Levin, the former Kcbs-tv Los Angeles correspondent, and the late Telepictures executive Jim Paratore as a division of Warner Bros.’ Telepictures production unit.
Levin will continue to run the company and serve as frontman for the TV shows. In the new configuration, he will report on day-to-day matters to Rob Wade, Fox Entertainment’s president of alternative and specials, and the TMZ entity itself will be added to the portfolio of Fox Entertainment chief Charlie Collier.

Fox's News Corp entertainment division has closed its acquisition of TMZ from WarnerMedia, confirming that founder and managing editor Harvey Levin will continue with the newly situated company.
Terms were not disclosed, but the deal is believed to be worth in the range of $100 million to $125 million.
Fox will now own and operate all of TMZ’s linear, digital and experiential assets, including syndicated magazine programs TMZ and TMZ Live. The TV series had created a connection between Warner and Fox, with both shows airing on 18 network affiliates owned by Fox’s station group. TMZ Sports airs on FS1.
As it has expanded over the past couple of decades, TMZ — whose initials stand for the “thirty-mile zone” around Hollywood– has added branded celebrity tours and casino slot machines to its portfolio. Its digital assets include TooFab.com, TMZ Sports and mother-ship site TMZ.com.

“Tiger King” is no longer the king of Netflix’s Top 10 titles list. On Friday, the Joe Exotic docuseries had its 25-day streak at No. 1 on the streaming service’s daily rankings of all its available movies and TV shows in the U.S. snapped by “Despicable Me.”

Variety reported the true crime docuseries had 34.3 million unique viewers in the United States from March 20-29, making it one of Netflix’s most popular series in recent memory. “Tiger King,” which centers on notorious zookeeper and 2016 presidential candidate Joe Exotic and other big cat conservationists, topped “Stranger Things” Season 2’s first 10 days viewership record and came close to beating last year’s enormously popular “Stranger Things” Season 3, which Nielsen said drew 36.3 million users in that same period of time.

Ellen Pompeo has blasted TMZ for breaking the Kobe Bryant crash story, conflating the media outlet’s news-gathering abilities with allegedly “exploiting women.”
The longtime Grey’s Anatomy actress tweeted out her attack on Tuesday, asking her following to sign a petition that would cancel the celebrity news outlet.
“I wonder why police departments give @HarveyLevinTMZ all this sensitive info ? I wonder why @HarveyLevinTMZ puts out photos of women who have been attacked or assaulted. …Who were victims? Exploiting women who have been abused… why is this guy still in business at all? So many questions I have …if we are not tolerating abuse anymore… shouldn’t we be calling this out? Exploiting women who have been abused… exploiting the brutal sudden death of peoples loved ones is certainly emotional abuse… I call times up on his behavior.”
Pompeo added that “tabloid media emotionally abuses women and we are their biggest audience.

What was Kathy Griffin thinking when she posed for a portrait holding what looked like the severed head of Donald Trump? That’s the question the comedian’s fans most want to hear answered in her self-produced feature, “Kathy Griffin: A Hell of a Story,” which is her courageous attempt to soldier on after her career got “Dixie Chicked” by the scandal. But unlike the country band, who suffered blowback after Natalie Maines announced, “We’re ashamed that the president of the United States is from Texas,” Griffin got heat from not just “Make American Great Again” supporters — whom she dubs “Maggots” — but the government itself.
Still, picking a fight with an insult comic is never a good idea. When Trump personally came after her on Twitter, he may have made Griffin’s life difficult, but he was also giving her material for which any stand-up would gladly go to Guantanamo.

After TMZ posted this story revealing that the former TV partner to Ryan Seacrest now drives for Uber, Dunkleman didn’t shy away from injecting a few more facts into the narrative.
“I chose to stop doing standup comedy and started driving an Uber so I could be there for my son as much as he needed after our life as we knew it was destroyed,” Dunkleman wrote on Twitter to TMZ and its boss Harvey Levin. “Print that.”
