Now that Alexandre Aja is done playing with mirrors, he's ready to get back to the business of skin shredding mayhem! Aja has reteamed with writing partner Grégory Levasseur to bring us Piranha 3D for The Weinstein Company.

Fox Home Entertainment released cover art and details for its disc releases of Mirrors, the Alexandre Aja-directed supernatural chiller starring Kiefer Sutherland. The story of a department store security guard who discovers an evil force lurking in the building’s mirrors hits DVD and Blu-ray January 13. Both versions will feature 2.40:1 transfers of the unrated version (containing bloodier footage not seen in theaters), with Dolby Digital 5.1 audio on the DVD and DTS HD 5.1 Master Audio on the Blu-ray. Extras on the former include:

• Reflections: The Making of Mirrors featurette

• Behind the Mirror featurette

• Deleted scenes with optional commentary by Aja

• Inside the Mirror alternate ending

The Blu-ray will have all these plus:

• Anna Esseker Backstory featurette

• Picture-in-picture commentary by Aja and co-writer/producer Gregory Levasseur

• Picture-in-picture scene-to-storyboard comparison

• Animated storyboard sequence

• Digital copy of the film for portable media players

Retail price is $29.98 for the DVD and $39.99 for the Blu-ray. »
