The 2000 film Ginger Snaps (watch it Here) is my all-time favorite werewolf movie. That was followed by a sequel – Ginger Snaps 2: Unleashed – and a very unexpected prequel – Ginger Snaps Back: The Beginning – and while I’m not as enamored with them as I am with the original movie, I do get some enjoyment out of watching them. The oddball prequel especially. If you’re a fan of Ginger Snaps trilogy as well and happen to have a Region B (or region free) Blu-ray player, you’ll be glad to hear that Second Sight Films is packaging all three movies together in a limited edition UK box set that’s going to be released on October 30th. Just in time for Halloween, which happens to be the setting of the first movie.
Copies of the Ginger Snaps trilogy Blu-ray box set can be pre-ordered directly from Second Sight Films.

A new episode of the Wtf Happened to This Horror Movie? video series has just arrived online, and in this one we’re looking back at the 2006 release Final Destination 3 (watch it Here) – a movie that wasn’t as popular as the previous two entries in the franchise, but at least it was more well-received than the fourth movie was. To find out what went into the making of Final Destination 3, check out the video embedded above!
Directed by James Wong, who also wrote the screenplay with Glen Morgan, Final Destination 3 has the following synopsis: Six years after a group of high school students first cheated death, another teen has a premonition that she and her friends will be involved in a horrifying roller-coaster accident. With the previous episode of our Best Horror Movie You Never Saw video series, I wrote about a werewolf movie that I feel is underrated, the 1985 Stephen King adaptation Silver Bullet. With the episode that was just released this morning, I had the chance to write about my personal favorite werewolf movie, Ginger Snaps (watch it Here) from 2000. To find out all about Ginger Snaps, check out the video embedded above!
Directed by John Fawcett from a screenplay by Karen Walton, Ginger Snaps has the following synopsis:
Ginger and Brigitte, two sisters trapped in suburbia, are obsessed with mayhem, torture and death until they get a taste of the real thing. Bitten by a wild animal, Ginger begins to mutate into a sexy, uncontrolled woman, with some nasty canine tendencies. Is it a virus? Is it a curse? Or the first step towards becoming a vicious werewolf?

Hello again found footage, my old friend. I kid of course. We were never friends. They’re Watching is the latest attempt at delivering found footage (Ff hereafter) thrills, and while it makes some progress it unsurprisingly stalls where so many Ff films have failed before. Home Hunters Global is a globe-hopping reality show about people finding new homes in international locales — think House Hunters International on a budget — and their latest episode introduces viewers to Becky (Brigid Brannagh), an American artist hoping to settle in the Eastern European nation of Moldova. She’s found her new home in the small town of Pavlovka where the locals are twitchy and the Starbucks are non-existent, but when the show’s crew returns a few months later to follow-up on her progress they find more than renovations waiting for them. The crew — cameraman Greg (David Alpay), sound guy Alex (Kris Lemche), new hire Sarah (Mia Faith), and producer Kate...

Careful, They’re Watching, but in an effort to ease the tension, We Got This Covered has an exclusive clip for Micah Wright and Jay Lender’s horror flick to share with you today, and it’s simply dripping with tension.
Billed as a horror-comedy at its dark and brooding core, They’re Watching sends a group of friends to Moldova in search of a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle. What they find, however, is anything but normal, irking a volatile religious cult birthed in the shadows of the Eastern European village.
Of those making the ill-advised – and likely one-way – trip to Moldova are Brigid Brannagh, Kris Lemche and David Alpay, and fans can look forward to the release of Wright and Lender’s genre mash-up tomorrow, March 25.

*Read In Russian-y Accent* “Only found-footage horror comedy in Moldova iz Best found-footage horror comedy in Moldova” – right? Sorry Dorothina, you’re not in Pavloka anymore. There’s a big cinematic world out there filled with found-footage hopefuls and, unfortunately, They’re Watching is pretty middling by comparison.
Filmmakers Jay Lender and Micah Wright do their best to conjure a witchy Eastern European tale when a reality show crew returns to detail a drastic home makeover. Home Hunters Global unites prospective buyers with fixer-upper dumps, and after an initial sale, host Kate Banks (Carrie Genzel) returns to update viewers on the progress.
In Kate’s latest season, Becky (Brigid Brannagh) and her soccer-playing husband Goran (Cristian Balint) bought the “worst house in Moldova,” and it’s time to witness the transformation. .Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. and .My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2. are not the only ones vying for your attention this weekend. Let me direct you to a small movie with some pretty big scares, it.s called .They.re Watching,. a film that is so funny, it.s scary.
Adapting the found footage genre, .They.re Watching. tells the tale of a group of American TV crew making a .House Hunters. style reality show in the quaint and mysterious village of Moldova in Eastern Europe.
The first half of the film, when we meet the characters, is the highlight for me. .They.re Watching. has a strong cast and each are likable enough to follow their crazy adventure. There.s the sound guy named Alex (Kris Lemche), Greg the photojournalist (David Alpay), Mia Faith is Sara the production assistant, and my favorite, Carrie Genzel who is the stern Type A producer Kate.

A new trailer for They're Watching has been released. Very comedic, the clip shows a group of friends hounded by an Eastern European cult. From the creators of Spongebob Squarepants, the theatrical trailer also shows what can happen when you move to Moldova. Brigid Brannagh, Kris Lemche and Carrie Genzel star in this feature, which will be released later this month. The synopsis mentions a home improvement television show. From there, the protagonists enter a village, where you are not allowed to say the word "witch." Of course, someone does say the word and the town's weirdos begin to hound Becky (Brannagh) and her friends. The film releases on March 25th, 2016. On this date, the film will be available in a few select theatres and through video-on-demand. Film fans can find a few laughs now, in the trailer and even more, when the film releases soon! The CW won't be returning to the place that's "not as brightly lit", as the network has apparently passed on the reboot of George A. Romero's 1980s anthology series, Tales From the Darkside.
According to CarterMatt.com, The CW will not be moving forward with their Tales From the Darkside reboot, with the show's anthology format and lack of a showrunner reportedly two of the reasons why the network passed on the series.
Joe Hill (Horns, NOS4A2, Locke & Key) wrote and executive produced the project and Kris Lemche (Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D., Final Destination 3, Ginger Snaps, eXistenZ, Haven) was playing the lead role, a character named Newman who had knowledge of The Darkside and was going to appear in all (or most) episodes.

Congratulations to good looking Kris Lemche. The actor has landed himself a new role on a new TV show for CW, which is a reboot of Tales from the Dark Side. He will be the main star of the show Newman, who finds himself dealing with events that revolve around the darkside. The show will likely premier next season as the network works on filling up their casting que of the show.
Talk about a different role for the former Emily of New Moon and Joan of Arcadia star. Kris has an impressive resume that does not highlight enough success for his talent. Hopefully CW and Tales from the Dark Side roles will fix that record for him. He needs a lot more acclaim for what he has brought to the work of TV and while CW may be a better fit, we also do not want to forget his fun roles.

The werewolf film is a strange thing. You’d think, being such a well-known movie monster, that there would be millions of examples of the type. However, there is not. I’m not even saying that there aren’t a ton of examples of great werewolf films, I’m saying there are barely any werewolf films at all. A long time ago, we did an article on this site to coincide with the theatrical release of one of the Twilight sequels. It was a list of 30 films, 15 of which were werewolf films, and 15 of them were vampire films, to watch instead of seeing the new Twilight. The hardest part about finding 15 worthy vampire films, was narrowing it down to 15. The hardest part of putting together a list of 15 sold werewolf films was a different beast entirely. It was hard to put together even a list of 15 mediocre werewolf films. Sure,...

What if you had great powers but no responsibility? That's the question posed by this action comedy, set in a world where real superheroes live alongside ordinary folk as state-funded crimefighters. Haven is careening towards a season finale that is coming far too soon, as it does every year. Tonight’s new episode is number 11 of 13 for the season. Eric Balfour (Duke) told me last month that this is his favorite episode of the season, because guest stars Danny Masterson (Men at Work, That ‘70s Show) and Kris Lemche (Joan of Arcadia, Ghost Whisperer) are his offscreen friends. Friends who are playing… the Darkside Seekers!
Yes those “famous” fictional investigators of the strange and unusual have finally made it to our favorite strange and unusual town, which should make for another excellent episode. Check out the featurettes that “they” shot, as well as a TV spot and a chilling clip from the new episode:

Ever wonder how no one in the wider world knows about the strange stuff that's been happening in Haven? You don't have to wonder anymore: They do know. At least, they know in the strange and obscure corners of the Internet where the Darkside Seekers thrive.
In "Shot in the Dark," the two men who make up the Darkside Seekers -- played by Danny Masterson ("That '70s Show," "Men at Work") and Kris Lemche ("Joan of Arcadia") -- arrive in the small Maine town. They're seeking the truth behind stories of a monster that steals hearts in the middle of the night.
But this is "Haven." There's an excellent chance that monsters have nothing to do with this. Will the two guys find a Troubled person behind the attacks? How will the regular residents of Haven react when outsiders come to town?
Considering how Audrey and William ended up shot...

Now that you’ve officially had a full year to catch Jordan Galland’s “Alter Egos,” it’s time to indulge in some outtakes and deleted scenes. But just in case you’re a little late to the game, the film stars Kris Lemche as a superhero named Fridge. They lost their government funding and public support is long gone. On top of that, Fridge has a relationship crisis on his hands because his girlfriend digs his alter ego more [ Read More ]

Iron Man, Wolverine, and Superman better watch out. Thanks to Jordan Galland’s “Alter Egos,” there’s a new supervillain lurking around that might actually have the power, wit, and charm to take them down. “Alter Egos” made its big debut at last year’s Fantasia Film Festival before rolling into an October 19, 2012 release. It features Kris Lemche as Fridge, a superhero who suffers an identity crisis after he finds out his girlfriend digs his alter ego more. Even then, Fridge still has a job to do, so with all his emotional baggage in tow, he teams up with his buddy C-Thru (Joey Kern) to complete a mission. In an industry [ Read More ]

After hitting Fantasia, the Napa Valley Film Festival, Sci-Fi-London Film Festival and more, Jordan Galland’s “Alter Egos” enjoyed a limited theatrical release and a run on VOD platforms. You can still catch the film in full on iTunes or on DVD via Amazon, but we’ve also got a brand new piece of the production to share – a 20-minute behind the scenes documentary. The film features Kris Lemche as the superhero Fridge. Of course that’s only his alter ego, but his real persona falls to the wayside when Brendan opts to bury himself in Fridge after he finds out his girlfriend loves his superhero form more. But relationship drama doesn’t [ Read More ]

I really wanted to like The Frankenstein Theory, the synopsis was fantastic and I was very intrigued by this premise. However this film just does not deliver in the end, and I really wanted to it. There is a lot of build up in the beginning and then it seems to stall and I was let down.
This film takes the idea that the novel of Frankenstein was actually based on fact. We find this out as a documentary crew are interviewing Professor John Venkenheim (Kris Lemche), who reveals to them a strange family history. His ancestors were members of the Illuminati and they conducted experiments, and a creature was created. The group embark on a journey to find 'Frankenstein' and it all gets filmed …
See that sounds awesome right? The first 15 minutes or so are really well done, and then it kind of lost me.
