Don't Tell the Bride is to move from BBC Three to BBC One, and will now be based on older couples.
It was previously thought that the reality show would be axed as part of the changes at BBC Three, but it has now been commissioned for six hour-long episodes produced by Renegade Pictures.
"The new series will be the sister to the original hit BBC Three show but for brides of all ages, made for a broad BBC One audience," said the BBC, with brides on the show now being aged from 30 to 55.
Controller of BBC One Charlotte Moore said: "Don't Tell the Bride will bring a new flavour to BBC One and expand the range of factual entertainment programmes in the schedule, it will retain all the elements fans of the show love but re-imagined for a broad audience."

Dave has commissioned a new comedy series asking celebrities to needlessly spend vast sums of money.
Echoing 1985 movie Brewster's Millions, Spending Dave's Money will see celebrity pairs tasked with spending £10,000 in only 24 hours.
Comedians David Baddiel, Richard Herring and Susan Calman - as well as former cricketer and presenter Phil Tufnell - have so far been confirmed as contestants on the show, which is scheduled to air in 2014.
The rules of the programme dictate that the double acts must have absolutely nothing to show for their spending spree and they can only gamble away 10%, which they can place on strategic bets they hope to lose.
The globetrotters will face an outrageous forfeit if they fail to spend every last penny of the local currency.
Five hour-long episodes will be filmed around the globe.
Executive producer for the series Harry Lansdown said: "It's a very bold commission that takes Dave into...

The BBC critically-acclaimed series, Being Human, has been renewed for a fourth season. For fans of SyFy’s American take on the series, this series is the original source material from which the American Being Human takes off from. Series creator Toby Whithouse (Torchwood, Doctor Who) is “overwhelmed” and “thrilled” by the news:
“We were overwhelmed by the response to series three, and so we’re absolutely thrilled that the BBC have given us this opportunity to continue our show into a fourth year. We’ve got another intense and epic story lined up for you, with some new faces and old, and even more horror and mayhem and mugs of tea. I can’t wait to get started.”
Acting Controller for BBC Three, Harry Lansdown lauds the series:
“Being Human’s brilliant mixture of fantasy and every day life continues to provide, must-see, ground breaking drama for BBC Three,...
