TORONTO -- Canadian wireless cablecaster Look Communications Inc. on Thursday named company chairman Michael Cytrynbaum as president and CEO after he held the additional posts on an acting basis. Cytrynbaum became interim president and CEO when Paul Lamontagne resigned the positions in May after a year in the post. Lamontagne took the helm at Look in May 2002, overseeing the wireless cablecaster's restructuring and refinancing after it emerged from bankruptcy protection three months earlier. Look Communications provides digital cable TV and high-speed Internet access in Ontario and Quebec using wireless technologies.

The promotion of Vocelle, who will also retain his title as senior vp finance, is aimed at helping fill a vacuum left by the April 14 departure of Look president and CEO Paul Lamontagne. "In light of the recent departure of Look's former chief executive officer, Mr. Vocelle will assist me in ensuring continuity in the short term until a new CEO is hired," Look chairman and interim CEO Michael Cytrynbaum said in a statement.

TORONTO -- Struggling Canadian wireless cablecaster Look Communications Inc. on Monday said Paul Lamontagne would step down as president and CEO after just over one year in the post. Lamontagne said in a statement that he will leave Toronto-based Look Communications after its shareholders meeting May 14 to "pursue other opportunities," while charman Michael Cytrynbaum steps in as interim CEO. Lamontagne was named CEO in February 2002 after the wireless cablecaster emerged from bankruptcy protection and a restructuring.
