- Gene Kiniski was born on November 23, 1928 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. He was an actor, known for Terminal City Ricochet (1990), Double Happiness (1994) and Paradise Alley (1978). He died on April 14, 2010 in Blaine, Washington, USA.

- On Jan. 7, 1966, Kiniski defeated Lou Thesz to win the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) Heavyweight Championship. Kiniski would hold onto the title until Feb. 11, 1969, when he lost to Dory Funk Jr.
