German emigre and Broadway lighting/scenic designer from 1944 - 1973.
He produced and directed "Moonbirds," which opened and closed in one
day (10 October 1959). He had better success as a producer with
"Rhinoceros" (1961), for which
Zero Mostel won his first Tony. His widow,
Louise, married
Al Hirschfeld, a longtime friend of the Kerzes, in
1996.
