A middle class holiday party seemed to be going relatively normally for a while, until Kevin Hart’s Gene didn’t respond quickly enough to a request from his wife Crystal (Leslie Jones) for a kiss under the mistletoe. It had seemed exactly like your run-of-the-mill gathering of friends up until that point, with a few warning signs. Specifically, the restrictions Crystal placed on Gene as soon as they walked in the door, not allowing him to drink alcohol and making him drink Dr. Pepper through a wacky child’s straw. But, hey, that’s the middle class life, right?...

Fashion Week gave us several reasons to smile this season. We got to see top supermodels back at work in the Big Apple, like pro Gigi Hadid strutting at Anna Sui despite a missing shoe. There was also no shortage of stars, as the likes of Nicole Kidman, Jamie Foxx and Paris and Nicky Hilton took their seats along the highly coveted front rows. If there's one thing French Montana knows about his ex, Khloe Kardashian, it's that she can handle the haters.
The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star took heat from basketball fans during the NBA finals in which her boyfriend, Cleveland Cavaliers player Tristan Thompson, didn't play as well as expected -- leading some fans to blame the 32-year-old reality star and the so-called Kardashian curse for his poor performance.

But the "Pop That" rapper said he didn't think that Kardashian would have sweated the heat when Et's Kevin Frazier caught up with him on the red carpet at Sunday night's Bet Awards.
"She's used to pressure. I mean, she's definitely a dope lady, you know?" Montana explained. "Like for me, what I know about [her], I don't think it would bother her."

Once again, we seem to be having the problem of defining what we mean when we use the terms “free speech,” “censorship” and “political correctness.” The problem is embodied by alt-right critic, Milo Yiannopoulos. My pal, Mindy Newell, alluded to it here. Since she wrote that, there have been some new wrinkles to the story.
Mr. Yiannopoulos is the latest in a long line of bitchy queens. This homophobic stereotype is one of my favorites, and has been since before I knew what homosexuality was. Paul Lynde was my first exposure. Later, I would enjoy the (now terribly dated) film The Boys in the Band, feeling really daring and bold to attend such a movie in 1970 Youngstown Ohio. By the time I actually met out-of-the-closet queer people, I was predisposed to think them all brilliant… which, I think, is a form of homophobia, but more well-intentioned than most.

Depending on who you ask, getting ready for the red carpet can be so much fun… or so frustrating. A glam squad is a must for achieving perfect hair and makeup, and the right shoes and accessories can make or break an outfit. Ultimately, though, a look begins and ends with the dress—and an increasing number of celebrities are speaking out about how challenging finding that dress can be if you don't wear a designer's so-called "sample size." In Hollywood, whether you're a size 6 or 16 or beyond, the red carpet options offered to you tend to be limited compared to what's available for women in the size 0 to 4 range. It all started with writer-director Mike Mills paying heed to his mother, his sisters, his female friends, and his wife. “He’s a genuine feminist,” said Greta Gerwig in our video interview. “I don’t think many men deserve that title. He’s a listener.”
“20th Century Women,” inspired by his mother and sister and their love of “underdog, misbegotten, impossible houses” when he grew up in Santa Barbara, is set in 1979 and tells the story of Jamie, a teenage boy (Chicago discovery Lucas Jade Zumann) being raised by his single, strong-minded, Depression-era older mom (Annette Bening) who has never been psychoanalyzed and doesn’t care to share what insights she may have about herself.
Mills honed the script for nearly three years before he found his actresses. After having dinner with Bening he decided that she had some of his late mother’s contrary spirit, he told me. “She has strength,...
