The title of Woody Allen's next film has just been revealed: it's the somewhat elongated You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger. After his return to New York for Whatever Works, and his Spanish detour for Vicky Christina Barcelona, Allen's latest brings him back to the UK, al la the "trilogy" of Match Point, Scoop and Cassandra's Dream. The funding set up is the same as Vcb's, with Allen co-producing alongside the Spanish Mediapro: the second project of a projected four.As always, the cast is the thing. This time Allen has rounded up Antonio Banderas, Josh Brolin, Anthony Hopkins, Naomi Watts (replacing Nicole Kidman), Gemma Jones, Freida Pinto and Lucy Punch. The plot, as sketched by the Hollywood Reporter, "revolves around different members of a family, their tangled love lives and their attempts to try to solve their problems", which is as good as telling us nothing, except that it's not a thriller. »

Woody Allen likes to keep a little mystery steeped in his upcoming projects -- especially when it comes to the title. Where other projects start off with that nugget of news, he shares it later. So, without further ado, the title of his latest film is, as The Hollywood Reporter posts:
You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger
This is the film that stars the likes of Antonio Banderas, Josh Brolin, Anthony Hopkins, and Naomi Watts. Set in London, the film "revolves around different members of a family, their tangled love lives, and their attempts to try to solve their problems." Before you go thinking that Watts gets to romance all the men -- Gemma Jones, Freida Pinto, and Lucy Punch also star. Considering the title, I'm going to guess that Brolin, Hopkins, and Watts are the family, and Banderas comes and spices things up with Latin lasciviousness.
I've got high hopes for this one. »

Woody Allen somehow feels strangely relevant now, even though he never went anywhere: his film output triples those directors who are a fraction of his age and far less cynical. Call it a creative rebirth, now that he’s exclusively focusing on his directorial duties. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Allen’s next movie is called You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger and will star Antonio Banderas, Josh Brolin, Anthony Hopkins, and Naomi Watts. THR has more: Gemma Jones, Freida Pinto and Lucy Punch round out the cast in the film that revolves around different members of a family, their tangled love lives and their attempts to try to solve their problems. Like all Woody Allen films, the interest is in the execution and all of the small character quirks, not in the plot details. He could literally be making the same movies until the universe experiences heat death. »

When Woody Allen's movies go into production, they're almost always titled "Untitled Woody Allen Project," because apparently the guy doesn't come up with his titles until filming has completed. So today, months after the shoot has ended, it's news that Woody Allen's newest movie has a title. You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger, which sounds either like a prophecy or a threat, will be coming out in about a year. The movie stars Antonio Banderas, Josh Brolin, Anthony Hopkins and Naomi Watts, with Brits Gemma Jones and Lucy Punch rounding out the cast, along with Slumdog Millionaire's Latika, a.k.a. Freida Pinto. Of course no one knows what it's about yet, just that it was filmed in London and, typically, a lot of beautiful women are involved. If Anthony Hopkins starts up a relationship with Pinto, though, we might have to worry that Woody's devolving into self-parody. »

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the name of Woody Allen’s next movie is “You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger,” so thanks for giving that away, Woody. I go into movies trying not to know who I will meet and you give it away in the title. Good going, funny boy. Once you move past the spoiler-alert, you have an interesting cast of Antonio Banderas, Josh Brolin, Anthony Hopkins, and Naomi Watts. I wouldn’t put those actors together off the top of my head but Allen could assemble any group of actors he wants because no one turns down an opportunity to work with Woody Allen. Well, except for Nicole Kidman, but ever since 2002, her choice in projects has been tremendous.

Always secretive about his upcoming projects, Woody Allen has released just a little teaser about his next movie, reported in THR. Called You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger, the movie will star Antonio Banderas, Josh Brolin, Anthony Hopkins, Naomi Watts, Gemma Jones, Lucy Punch, and Slumdog Millionaire star Freida Pinto. Punch was called in to replace Nicole Kidman, who dropped out over a schedule conflict.
Not many details so far on the plot, other than it revolves around various members of a family and their mixed-up love lives. Meaining, it's a bit hard at this point to differentiate it from any number of other Allen flicks, except perhaps for the bold title.
Allen recently told the Telegraph that fans can tell ahead of time which of his movies will be good just by what they're called.
I never title a movie until it's finished because if I look at »

It is with great sadness that I write of the passing of actor Robert Quarry.
To most who read Fangoria, he was Count Yorga, Vampire (Aip 1970) who Returned (1971) before he found that Dr Phibes Rises Again that same year, became a Deathmaster in 1972, met Sugar Hill and went to the Madhouse in 1974.
He was more than that, though. Born Robert Walter Quarry on November 3, 1925, the highly intelligent Quarry (who it was said had an I.Q. of 168) graduated High School at age 14, and started his acting career soon after on radio. Living in Santa Rose, Quarry won an acting scholarship to the Pasadena Playhouse. When Alfred Hitchcock came to Santa Rosa, Quarry auditioned and won the role of Theresa Wright’s boyfriend in the 1943 classic Shadow Of A Doubt. His role, however, was all but cut out (he swore he appeared a nanosecond mooning over the actress), but it led to his Hollywood career, »
