Longtime Daily Show scribe/correspondent Wyatt Cenac — who recently made waves after detailing a rocky relationship with Jon Stewart — will next turn his attention to The Group, TBS’ upcoming comedy pilot in which he will star.
The Group — which counts Conan O’Brien and Greg Daniels (The Office, Parks and Recreation) among its executive producers — focuses on skeptical journalist Wyatt Jones (Cenac), who investigates a support group for people who believe they have been abducted by aliens. The more he digs into the oddballs’ claims, however, the more confused, intrigued and seduced he becomes.

There's a large gap between stories in our local legends that is open for interpretation that's been exercised in many great adventure movies like Indiana Jones.Indonesian effort Barakati's first trailer only shows off the epic 300-style visuals and completely misses the chance to present the story in the hope that visuals alone can hook potential audiences. We can easily assume, judging from the poster, that the scene we presented with is only some flashback parts of the main story.Abdul Manan, a young archeologist, embark on a journey to Buton island to unveil the missing history of Gajah Mada, a legendary military leader of Majapahit empire, last day on earth upon his meeting with an english journalist Gerry Johnson who possessed an old scripture.Directed by Monty...

This story first appeared in the Oct. 19 issue of The Hollywood Reporter magazine. We first met in the late '60s in New York, and we were kind of rivals. I was at Rogers & Cowan, and Lois Smith was at Allen, Foster, Ingersoll and Weber -- she was the Weber, which was her maiden name. A couple years later, we decided to form our own little PR company with Gerry Johnson called Pickwick. My husband and I were moving to California, where I would open an office, and Lois and Gerry would be in New York. Photos: Lois Smith's Career

Lois Smith, the New York-based publicist who helped promote the careers of Marilyn Monroe, Robert Redford and Martin Scorsese among many others, died early Sunday of a brain hemorrhage after an accidental fall. She was 85. Smith, along with Pat Kingsley, Gerry Johnson and Pat Newcomb, formed Pickwick Public Relations in 1969, a company that would later become Pmk/Hbh. Smith (with Elliott Gould, right) and her husband Eugene Smith were visiting Hebron Academy Saturday in Maine, where they were being honored for their fund-raising efforts. During the night she fell, sustaining a...

Anyone fortunate enough to be within a day’s ride of Dublin on Tuesday, 1 November, should saddle up bright and early to catch the Irish Film Institute’s 40th anniversary presentation of Sergio Leone’s A Fistful of Dynamite, to be introduced by Leone biographer and Spaghetti Western top-gun, Sir Christopher Frayling. Also participating in the event will be director John Boorman, who assisted Leone in finding the locations used in the film’s Irish flashback sequences, and Ireland’s top special-effects expert, Gerry Johnston, who worked on the action scenes shot in Toner’s pub in Dublin’s Baggot Street.
Frayling, whose last appearance at the Ifi (introducing Once Upon a Time in the West) was the highpoint of the 2000 season, will use extracts from such films as John Ford’s The Informer...
