Moscow -- Cyprus-born, Finland-based film director Dome Karukoski collected the Grand Prix prize of Zerkalo, the international film festival named in honor of Andrei Tarkovsky, which came to a close in the Russian city of Ivanovo last Sunday. Karukoski won for his movie "Kielletty hedelma" ("Forbidden Fruit").
The best director's prize went to South Korea's Soo-il Jeon's "Himalayaeui sonyowa" ("Himalaya, Where the Wind Dwells").
The festival, named after one of Tarkovsky's films, was held for the fourth time this year in a city near where the renowned Russian film director was born and spent his childhood. Zerkalo remains one of the few international film events in Russia held outside of its main film industry centers of Moscow and St Petersburg.
