Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul were upset in their respective acting categories, but Breaking Bad won the night’s top prize, taking home its first Emmy for Best Drama. It was an unpredictable night in several major categories: In addition to The Newsroom’s Jeff Daniels taking home the trophy for Best Actor in a Drama and Boardwalk Empire’s Bobby Cannavale winning for Supporting Actor, Veep’s Tony Hale and Nurse Jackie’s Merritt Wever were surprise winners — Wever was so shocked that she practically ran off the stage without delivering an acceptance speech.

After his abrupt exit from MSNBC last year, Keith Olbermann made his first TV appearance on CBS’ Late Show With David Letterman. He will do it again after his latest acrimonious departure, this time from Current TV. Olbermann will sit down with Letterman on Tuesday. During his previous visit, Olbermann called the offer to join Current TV “manna from heaven.” That probably won’t be the choice of words he will use about his now-ex-employer this time around. Last May, Letterman asked Olbermann about the nine employers he has left during his career and the state of the bridges he’s left behind. “Some people have said, I did not burn the bridges,” Olbermann said. “I have napalmed them. My argument was I did not burn the bridges, I burnt the rivers.” Ten months later, the only thing that has changed is the number of jilted employers, which has climbed...

The people have spoken! America's favorite TV stars, personalities and shows took home crystallized People's Choice Awards on Wed., Jan. 11, which aired on CBS. Although it was a night honoring what voters designated to be the best of movies, music and television, the small screen certainly took center stage, thanks to host Kaley Cuoco of "The Big Bang Theory."
There was a TV sketch segment featuring Cuoco's cast in the opening scene; then another from Jane Lynch, the women behind track-suit-sporting, mud-slinging Sue Sylvester on "Glee"; and the entire Pawnee "Parks and Recreation" team also showed off their talents. And though they brought the laughs to the largely yawn-worthy telecast, it was mostly other shows that took home the awards.
See all of the TV nominees and winners below.

Hey guys, it's 4/20! You know what that means right? Well, you see, 420 is the police code for when you bust someone for... wait, what's that? Oh, 420 was never a police code for anything, never mind possession of marijuana? Um... 'kay, well there must be some easily researched genesis for the obsession with the date 4/20. *Googles*. Hmm, well it looks like it developed in 1971 with a group of teenagers who are now in their 50s as the time of day they'd meet up to get high and spread from there. That is ... frighteningly mundane but I guess any excuse for a celebration is a good one. So all of you who partake, enjoy yourselves, those of you who prefer to reach an altered state of consciousness via other means, enjoy yourselves too. Here's your Tuesday night line up:
8:00 p.m.: "American Idol" on Fox.
"The Biggest Loser" on NBC.
