- Sang and acted the role of Joe (the deckhand who sings "Ol' Man River") in EMI/Angel's "authentic" 1988 recording of "Show Boat".
- He sang and acted the role of Joe in "Show Boat" in at least three stage productions, a 1976 Bicentennial production starring Shirley Jones as Magnolia, a 1981 touring company starring Van Johnson as Cap'n Andy, and the Houston Opera's 1983 production starring Donald O'Connor as Cap'n Andy. This 1983 production eventually went to Broadway.
