After several of her stories were adapted to the screen, she became a screenwriter. Levien wrote several screenplays for Will Rogers films and for Fox studios during the 1930s. - In the last year of her life, she was called in by producer Samuel Bronston to rewrite a screenplay written by director John Farrow on the life of Christ. Bronston eventually made "King Of Kings" (1961) on this subject, but neither Farrow's screenplay nor Levien's was used.
