When you’re executed in Oklahoma, the process begins 35 days before your death, according to inmate Richard Glossip. First, they take your belongings, then they transfer you to a block of four cells called Death Watch. If you’re the only one on the block, they put you in the first cell, where you’ll stay for a week. Then they’ll move you one cell over, and so on until you’re closest to the execution chamber. There’s a camera and a guard for each cell, bright lights are on day and night,...

"I've always wanted to debate important ideas." The Orchard has released the first official trailer for a compelling new intellectual debate documentary titled Islam and the Future of Tolerance, which will be released on VOD platforms in December for those who may be curious. In a world riven by violence and misunderstanding, prominent atheist author Sam Harris and Islamist-extremist-turned-liberal Muslim Maajid Nawaz seek to provide a remedy to the polarizing rhetoric and obscurantism around the topic of Islam. It's a debate film, but it's more than that, an attempt to reconcile differences through conversation and discussion. To examine in more detail what's going on, along with different interpretations, and what's actually written in the Quran. What fascinates me the most is that the two intellectuals have been in heated debates before, and seem to mortal enemies, yet they put that behind them and came together to make this. Official trailer...

Virtually very wannabe actor dreams of moving to Hollywood, going out on their very first audition and so knocking the reading out of the park, that they not only get the role, but they are cast as a series regular.
But everyone knows that only happens on television and not in real life. Especially when are sixty-something, are better known for your theater and writing work, and only became an actor because you’d been teaching about it for so long, you decided you needed some practical experience.
But that is exactly what happened to Robert Michael Morris whose first audition was in 2005 for Lisa Kudrow and her new sitcom The Comeback. One could argue that Morris’ luck ran out there as The Comeback only lasted for thirteen episodes, but even though those thirteen episodes were then the extent of his television resume, Morris went on to play parts on Will & Grace,...

Elena Undone opens with a hazy, slow motion shot of two women walking towards each other. A voiceover dreamily states “In love, one and one are ... one. Seldom do we get to experience the art in love.” It goes on to reference Emily Bronte and the scene reveals that we’ve actually been listening to a church sermon (a not-so-subtle transition to a stained glass window is our first hint).
From here, we meet Elena (Necar Zadegan), a beautiful, soft-spoken woman. She’s married to the preacher (Barry, played by Gary Weeks), and they’re trying for another child, a subject that Mr. Preacher seems much more keen on than Elena. She’s accosted by a cartoonish gaggle of churchgoers for not attending an anti-gay marriage protest, and she seeks comfort in the arms of Tyler (Sam Harris), a sort of love guru who makes films about “soulemetry” and stages...
