Happy Battle of Hogwarts day! J.K. Rowling has made it an annual tradition to apologize for killing off certain characters who died during the Battle of Hogwarts on the anniversary of the day that the battle took place. This started in 2015 when she apologized for killing off Fred Weasley, then in 2016 she apologized for the death of Remus Lupin.
Today she dropped a bombshell on the Internet when she apologized for killing off Snape! Whoa! That's a pretty big one and she knew that it was going to ignite a fire under the asses of the fans and she's already run for cover.
Ok, here it is. Please don't start flame wars over it, but this year I'd like to apologise for killing (whispers)... Snape. *runs for cover*

In a few short hours, one of six housemates will go down in the Big Brother history books as the 15th winner of the show (alright, so it's not like they'll be studied in schools or anything, but it's something, right?). But where will they fit in the record? Will they be a worthy winner, or a disappointment? Will they be looked back on with glee or with grimaces?
That remains to be seen, but in the meantime we have 14 winners to rank. Who is the best? Who is the worst? We're not going to claim this is definitive - we switched our own minds around about 27 times just while compiling our running order - but take to the comments to give us your views. And so, in order from worst to best, here we go...

She has won Grammys, a Golden Globe and an Oscar (the latter two for her James Bond song "Skyfall"). But Thursday, Adele added a singularly British honor - an MBE medal - to the list. The singer, 25, was full of smiles, and even allowed herself a hearty chuckle, upon receiving the medal - an honor reserved for exemplary British subjects - from Prince Charles at Buckingham Palace. Introduced in the palace ballroom as Miss Adele Adkins, she stepped forward sporting her trademark wide grin before having a short chat with Charles. He pinned the award for "services to music" on her black,...

A new series of Doctor Who ebooks kicks off with A.L. Kennedy's The Death Pit.
The Doctor Who ebook range continues with this new series – Time Trips – led by this entry from Scottish literary author A.L. Kennedy. We're going to be seeing short stories set across multiple incarnations from a variety of authors, including Joanne Harris, Jenny Colgan, Nick Harkaway, Trudi Canavan, Jake Arnott, and Cecilia Aherne. So, there's an interesting range for you. Allow me to slightly undermine any excitement you may feel by informing you that this first story is not good.
Kennedy's tale begins with a very Doctor Who clash between horror and comedy, a grotesque but scientifically-detailed death sequence written in child-like and child-friendly prose. You can tell Kennedy has read one or two Target novels in her time (and drops in references to The Invasion of Time and...
