Hardwicke Auditioned Twilight Stars In Her Bedroom

Catherine Hardwicke found out whether Twilight stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart would have on-screen chemistry by auditioning the pair in the privacy of her own bedroom.
The director, who recently admitted Pattinson and Stewart are in a real life relationship, didn't want to hire the British actor to play heart-throb vampire Edward Cullen unless he could romantically connect to Stewart in front of the camera.
So Hardwicke auditioned the pair in the bedroom of her Venice, California, home.
The moviemaker reveals the location of the pair's first smooch in an interview with U.S. TV show Access Hollywood, in which she allows the TV crew to film inside her home.
She says, "This is the place where we had the first kiss from Rob and Kristen. We did the audition to see if these two would have chemistry - to see if their kiss would be exciting and cool."
And Hardwicke admits she threw Pattinson and Kristen into the deep end, because they had only just met when she asked them to pucker up.

We all know how the story ends. Lovestruck Robert Pattinson tried to impress his Twilight co-star Kristen Stewart by faking a love of highbrow films.
Director Catherine Hardwicke has confirmed the pair are an item after revealing Stewart decided she wanted give it "a go" and be with the British actor.
Pattinson reportedly asked Stewart to marry him several times a week, and now he admits he had to fight for her attention by pretending to be interested in intellectual films and authors.

Four years ago, the first of Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight Saga novels was published. Four novels and one smash hit movie later, and Twilight has become a global phenomena every bit as huge as Harry Potter. Next week sees the release of the second movie in the Twilight Saga, New Moon. Based on the novel of the same name, also the second in the series, the story this time focuses on werewolves, in the shape of the Quileute tribe.
At the end of the first film, Edward and Bella Swan returned to Forks, Washington together. As New Moon begins, Edward and his family leave town in an attempt to keep Bella safe. Feeling hurt and confused, Bella takes to an old motorcycle and hits the road. Hardwicke, who directed the first film in the franchise, initially warned Pattinson against dating the younger actress when she first cast them to star opposite each other.

Fans don't have to question anymore about the nature of Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart's relationship. In an interview with Time magazine posted on Thursday, November 12, Catherine Hardwicke, the director of "Twilight", revealed she had warned Pattinson not to date Stewart, who was less than 18 years old when she became the cast member of the vampire drama movie.
"After I cast him, I told Rob, don't even think about having a romance with her ... She's under 18. You will be arrested," she said. Hardwicke, however, mentioned that she couldn't confirm whether or not Pattinson and Stewart hooked up during "Twilight" filming.
