Back in early November we told you about Sideshow Collectibles' new line of Premium Format Figures entitled "Court of the Dead," and now we have word on the next member of said Court: Avarkus, The Red Death.
Product Description:
A wretched abomination, part mummified flesh and part tormented spirit, Avarkus, The Red Death drifts upon the celestial ether between the realms of the living and the dead. With an insatiable thirst for the avarice in men's souls, he seeks out those corrupted by greed to claim as his own.
In his hand he holds a mask of gold, which represents the face of his life's true desires, and on his back a rich and gruesome embroidered cloak imprisons the faces of those preeminent souls he has taken for Death's designs. But perhaps most horrific of all, from the odious sack of innards that spill out of his vacuous abdomen, vengeful...

The Mena region’s first online streaming media service, icflix, which launched last summer, has already started reading scripts with a view to producing as many as eight Arab-language movies a year intended for theatrical release.
Echoing the original programming push that has re-defined Netflix in the Us, Dubai-based icflix is looking to partner up with Arab production houses in order to supplement its line-up of ‘Jazwood’ titles (the name it coined for Arab-language content). Icflix already has Arabic content supply deals with both the Egyptian Radio & TV Union (Ertu) and Arab Radio and Television Network (Art).
Speaking at the Diff Forum this week, icflix CEO Carlos Tibi said he would also be engaging directly with young actors from the region under an initiative known as the Jazwood Academy designed to cultivate new talent. “We want to ensure that Arab content is of the same entertainment and production quality as our Hollywood and Bollywood films,” he said. First came Geminoid, now there's Robokind. The diminutive educational robot coated with Frubber, a semi-convincing kind of synthetic robot skin, can replicate a great variety of human expressions. But is this a good thing?
The firm behind the Robokind devices has been working on this technology for some time. Now the latest product, a suite of knee-high droids intended for educational and research uses, has sprung Athena-like from the brain of company founder David Hanson and research into the soft, malleable "frubber" synthetic skin. The robot is powered by sophisticated servos that let it walk, gesture, and make extremely complex movements of its face--including aping brow movements, eye and eyelid movements and complicated mouth moves that can produce a smile. It's available as a range of robots with differing sophistication--the full bot with expressive head (be it an Einstein replica or one of the other male and female heads) and...
