Agbo is going AI — at least it sounds like it is, at least in part.
The Russo Brothers’ independent studio announced on Wednesday the formation of a new Innovation department, which will blend Agbo’s “physical and virtual production capabilities.” The studio’s technologists will “build proprietary creative tools for storytellers, fostering production innovation and cost efficiency for content across diverse platforms,” the press release reads. The tools will be used in development, production, and post-production.
When reached by IndieWire, a spokesperson for Agbo declined to clarify how much of these tools will be AI or generative-ai. The use of AI in Hollywood is considered sacrilegious by some and an efficient use of technology by others. The truth is it can be both. AI has been the primary — or at least the most public-facing — issue in contract negotiations between the guilds and the studios.

After creating the heartbreaking yet truly magnificent exit of Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man from the Marvel Cinematic Universe via Avengers: Endgame, the Russo Brothers — Joe Russo and Anthony Russo — are all set to bring new action to the screens. And this time, this peak entertainment would not be through Rdj or the MCU, but rather, ostensibly through Chris Evans and Ryan Gosling.

As it turns out, the dynamic duo recently hinted at wanting to work with Evans and Gosling once again. The project they would be collaborating on is the sequel to the masterpiece from 2022, The Gray Man. But that’s not all because Evans isn’t the only Chris the mastermind filmmakers are looking forward to working with: They also want Chris Hemsworth to reprise his iconic role!

We're not in Kansas anymore, folks -- or, to put it more accurately, Chris Evans is no longer in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Ever since sending Steve Rogers off to retirement in "Avengers: Endgame," the A-list actor hasn't exactly shied away from shedding his image as the biggest boy-scout superhero this side of Superman. He's played loathsome murderers, like Ransom Drysdale in "Knives Out." He's gone full sociopathic villain as the mercenary Lloyd Hansen in the Russo brothers' "The Gray Man." And now, he's gearing up to portray yet another conniving and morally compromised figure in "Pain Hustlers," which appears intent on pushing the boundary of how far audiences will tolerate Evans as a thoroughly unlikable and money-grubbing creep.

Netflix fans are about to have a busy weekend, and so is Netflix chief marketing officer Marian Lee. On Saturday, the streaming giant’s Tudum fan event will quintuple in size and go global.
Tudum began in January 2020 as an in-person event in one market, São Paulo, Brazil. The Covid pandemic disrupted that whole in-person thing, but on September 24 the event is back — and it’s supersized.
Named for the streaming service’s start-up sound, Tudum is now made up of five events from around the world, offering “more content, more shows and movies, more talent,” and yes, “more news to break,” as Lee said in a telephone interview with IndieWire.
Tudum is Netflix’s D23 and its Disney+ Day rolled into one. It’s not quite San Diego Comic-Con, but Tudum serves as a strong — and controlled — complement to existing fan conventions. “I wouldn’t say we don’t look at those events,...

Imagine this: Ryan Gosling, Chris Evans, and Regé-Jean Page all starring together in one movie. Scratch that - there's no need to dream about it, because it's actually happening! That's right - our boyfriends are coming together for Netflix's new film titled "The Gray Man." Based on the first installment of the book series by Mark Greaney of the same name, the action thriller will follow Gentry (Gosling) as he's chased across the world by Lloyd Hansen (Evans), a former cohort at the CIA. It also stars Ana de Armas, with additional appearances from Billy Bob Thornton and Alfre Woodard.
According to Deadline, "The Gray Man" - which is being directed by Joe and Anthony Russo - is set to become the biggest-budget feature in Netflix history. The trailer dropped on May 24, and it's action-packed! "The idea is to create a franchise and build out a whole universe. We...

Top Gun: Maverick will put Kenny Loggin’s “Danger Zone” back in the spotlight (where it belongs). Here’s how the artist conquered the movie soundtrack world in the 1980s.
“Most musicians would be content to shape the sound of pop in one decade—like how Elvis Presley shook up the ’50s or The Beatles owned the ’60s. But not Kenny Loggins. After helping to invent the supremely chill, lightly funky sound known as ‘yacht rock’ in the ’70s, Loggins went full speed into the ’80s and took the highway to the danger zone of movie soundtracks. The gambit paid off in a big way.”

Another Hollywood legend is joining the Fast and Furious family, and this time it’s West Side Story icon Rita Moreno.
“In an inspired bit of stunt casting, iconic Egot winner Rita Moreno will join the Fast and the Furious franchise family.

Netflix has released the first trailer for “The Gray Man,” the 200 million plus spy and espionage thriller that stars Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans. But they definitely don’t get along in this one.
Gosling is part of the Sierra program, a team of “reckless mystery men you guys send in when you can’t officially send anyone else.” He’s known as The Gray Man, and according to Chris Evans’ Lloyd Hansen, “he’s got some street cred.” But he’s apparently outlived his usefulness, and has become an important target.
Hansen is determined to hunt him down, and enlist anyone he needs to to get it done. Of course, the men have some pretty good banter along the way.
“Avengers: Endgame” filmmakers Joe Russo and Anthony Russo direct this epic spy thriller for Netflix, fresh off their drama-skewing “Cherry” for Apple TV+.

Run, Ryan, run!
The trailer for Joe and Anthony Russo’s “The Gray Man” has dropped, and it shows Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans in an epic spy chase across borders. The Netflix movie premieres in theaters on July 15 before heading to the streamer a week later.
Based on the Mark Greaney book series, Gosling plays CIA operative Court Gentry, who inadvertently spills secrets about his organization, forcing him to go on the run from Evans’ mustached Lloyd Hansen, an unhinged former colleague. The movie also features Ana de Armas as a by-the-book CIA agent who gets tangled in the mess, Regé-Jean Page as another CIA official, plus Billy Bob Thornton and Alfre Woodard in an all-star cast for what the Russos have said they hope will turn into a franchise.

Ryan Gosling has been absent from cinemas since he starred in 2018’s “First Man,” but that’s about to change in a big way. The actor is returning to the big screen as a deadly CIA killer in Netflix’s massive blockbuster, “The Gray Man.” Chris Evans co-headlines the new film from Joe and Anthony Russo, which was adapted from Mark Greaney’s bestselling book series.
Gosling stars as “Sierra Six,” a top CIA mercenary who keeps his identity secret due to the sensitive missions he works on. But when he stumbles onto some dark secrets about the agency that were supposed to stay hidden, the tables are soon turned and he becomes the target of one of the government’s other top assassins, Lloyd Hansen (Chris Evans).
Gosling recently spoke about his character, saying that his ingenuity is matched only by his sense of humor.

Tales of moviemaking during the pandemic are traditionally fraught with hardship and struggle. But on the location shoot of a Russo Brothers action movie, it’s only filled with opportunity. That’s at least what it felt like on the days—weeks and weeks of them—in the Czech Republic capital of Prague when directors Joe and Anthony Russo had the full run of entire city blocks while staging one of their signature showstoppers for The Gray Man.
“There are a lot of challenges associated with shooting during the pandemic, but we may have benefited in the sense that Prague was empty of tourists,” Anthony says with a faint laugh. “It’s one of the most beautiful cities and is normally packed. But the fact that the city was emptier than usual actually helped us out in terms of the amount of real estate we were able to control and shoot.

Chris Evans may have stowed away Captain America’s shield, but his ties to the MCU are still in full force.
The “Avengers” star couldn’t help but compare the upcoming Netflix espionage thriller “The Gray Man” to other Joe and Anthony Russo productions, namely the MCU installments. Except this time, instead of playing an iconic Marvel hero, Evans transforms into sadistic assassin Lloyd Hansen, who is hunting CIA mercenary Courtland Gentry, aka Sierra Six (Gosling), after a security breach.
“It does seem that I’ve aggressively gone 180 [degrees] from Steve Rogers,” Evans told Empire. “But it just kind of unfolded that way.”
Evans teased that his character is a “trainwreck of a human being” who craves “anarchy.” Basically, it’s a far cry from playing rule-following Captain America.
“I love the Russos, and I’ll pretty much do anything they ask me to do,” Evans added. “And this is a...

I've stopped fanning myself long enough to let y'all know that Hollywood hotties Chris Evans and Ryan Gosling are starring in a new Netflix movie titled The Gray Man. The film, which is based on a book series by Mark Greaney, will follow ex-cia operative turned assassin Court Gentry (Gosling) as he's chased down by his old colleague and new nemesis, Lloyd Hansen (Evans). Joe and Anthony Russo - who worked with Evans on 2016's Captain America: Civil War and 2019's Avengers: Endgame - will direct the $200 million project, which marks Netflix's most expensive feature yet. Joe will also write the script before passing it to Endgame screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely for a final look.
"The idea is to create a franchise and build out a whole universe," Joe told Deadline. "We have all committed to the first movie and that's got to be great to get us to the second movie.

After the blockbuster success of “Extraction,” which they produced and was released earlier this year, Joe and Anthony Russo are sticking with Netflix for their next directorial effort. The project is titled “The Gray Man,” which Deadline describes as a “James Bond-level franchise-starter” with “a budget upwards of $200 million.” That price tag will make “The Gray Man” the most expensive Netflix original movie to date. The movie comes attached with two big stars: Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans, the latter of whom knows the Russo brothers quite well after starring in several of their “Captain America” and “Avengers” movies.
“The Gray Man” is a Marvel reunion for the Russo brothers not just because of star Chris Evans but also because of “Avengers” screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, who have given Joe Russo’s original “Gray Man” script a polish. The Russo brothers will produce the movie through their Agbo company.

Exclusive: Fresh from an earnings report that saw it add 10 million subscribers during the pandemic, Netflix has just set its most financially ambitious feature film so far. Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans are set to star in The Gray Man, with Agbo’s Joe & Anthony Russo directing their first blockbuster since setting the all-time global box office record with Avengers: Endgame two years ago. The intention here is to create a new franchise with a James Bond-level of scale and a budget upwards of $200 million.
The Russo’s Agbo is producing, and the script was written by Joe Russo, with a polish by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, who scripted the Russo-directed Captain America and Avengers films and who are Co-Presidents of Story at Agbo. It is based on the 2009 Mark Greaney novel that introduced the Gray Man, a freelance assassin and former CIA operative named Court Gentry.
