Samuel L. Jackson is cool. This is not new information, of course. If you somehow don't agree, let me remind you that when Jackson played the role of Jedi Mace Windu in the "Star Wars" prequels, he was able to request and receive a purple lightsaber, a color that had not yet been seen in a "Star Wars" movie. Not only that, but the one he got has "bad mother******" etched on the side. How many people get that experience? Not only that, but he was in the films in the first place, merely because he said he wanted to play a role. Obviously, they gave him the role because he's a great actor, but there are many great actors. There is only one Samuel L. Jackson.
So, he requested a role and got it, and asked for a purple lightsaber and got it. Those are some real-life Jedi powers if you ask me.

It may be difficult for anyone under 30 to imagine, but humanity once went 16 years without a new "Star Wars" movie. Yes, there were books and comic books and video games, but the series' official canon basically ended in 1983 with "Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi." Why the long gap? The franchise's creator, George Lucas, was determined to wait until CGI advanced to a level where he could seamlessly blend visual effects with practical sets and locations. Once that time arrived, he began pre-production on "Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace." And it wasn't long before word got out that he was creating a 100 percent CG character that would interact with the film's flesh-and-blood actors.
That character was, of course, Jar Jar Binks, who would go on to become the lightning rod for everything "Star Wars" fans found lacking in the 1999 blockbuster. Some folks hated the character so much,...

The man who brought Jar Jar Binks to life on the set of George Lucas’ Star Wars prequel trilogy has been chatting about where he thinks the franchise might have been straying from the path in recent years, addressing what he considers to be “missing” from the newer Lucasfilm endeavors – and, no, it’s not Jar Jar Binks.
Ahmed Best was in conversation with writer Jamie Stangroom about his latest return to the Star Wars universe when he aired his personal views on the situation. The actor will be the host of the upcoming Disney+ game show Star Wars: Jedi Temple Challenge, due to start streaming later this year.
“This is the thing I think Star Wars is falling short of now: there really isn’t very much to believe in anymore,” he mused. “The lack of faith in the mythology is really the thing I find to be missing.

Fans of Hayden Christensen will have to do without his hunky features in the new Star Wars installment - he will be wearing the body suit and mask of the evil Darth Vader. A source on the Australian Fox Studios set, where Lucasfilm representatives reportedly visited last week, reports that the new movie, Episode III, will begin filming next summer, with Boba Fett actor Daniel Logan told to keep the months of July and August free. In addition to Christensen, who played Anakin Skywalker in Episode II: Attack of the Clones, donning Vader's famous black suit, the source, quoted on the Ain't It Cool News website, reports that casting director Robin Gurland met with British stars Samantha Morton, Robert Carlyle and Christopher Eccleston in London earlier this month. Jonathan Hales will reportedly return as co-writer, as will the CGI version of cult character Yoda - and mountains and caves around Australia have been touted as possible locations for the movie.

The new Star Wars movie is going down-under after recruiting seven young actors from Australia and New Zealand. Jay Laga'aia, 'Leanna Walsman', Rose Byrne, Veronica Segura, David Bowers, Matthew Rowan and Daniel Logan have all landed plum parts in Star Wars: Episode II (2002) which began filming in Sydney, Australia yesterday Monday. Their parts - which are being closely guarded - include a 'skilled bounty hunter', an 'indulgent politician', a 'high-ranking Senate official ' and a 'mysterious young boy'. The film's casting director Robin Gurland has been surprised by the abundance of talent available to him. He says, "it's been terribly exciting to discover the wealth of talent in Australia." The Antipodeans will join stars Ewan McGregor, Samuel L. Jackson and Natalie Portman, who have all been confirmed for the film.
