Another day, another Comic-Con schedule! Are you ready to plan out our Saturday at this years convention!? Once again there's a ton of great panels going on including Iron Man 3, Pacific Rim, Man of Steel, The Hobbit, Marvel TV, Django Unchained, The Simpsons, Family Guy, and more!
Saturday has shaped up to be a hell of a great day for those of you attending Comic-Con. I've put *** next to all of the panels that we want to attend, but like every year, I'm sure we'll be covering a lot more stuff.
We'll be wearing our GeekTyrant shirts, so if you see us walking around San Diego and the convention center, please stop and and say hi! We'd love to meet our readers. We will also be holding our annual meet-up on Wednesday night before the crazy geek storm.
Check out the schedule below and let us know what panels you'll be attending,...

Another day, another schedule for the 2012 San Diego Comic-Con. Next up is Day 3 - Saturday, July 14th - which is just about as chock-full of events for the horror crowd as Friday the 13th!
As always, our focus is the horror panels, but included are a few others that we think will be of interest as well. Remember that times and participants are subject to change so keep your eyes on the official Sdcc site for updates. And hopefully they'll provide a fix soon for the Sdcc smartphone app - in years past it's been extremely helpful.
10:00-11:00 Comic-Con How-To: Anatomy of a Fight Scene, Part One— Stories are about conflict, and there is no purer form of conflict than a good ol' fisticuffs-style brawl-or sword fight, laser battle, western shootout, or even two chicks pulling each other's hair. How do you put that much action down on...

With the release of Terrence Malick‘s The Tree of Life set for exactly a month from today, more news is coming in. First up, we can put a rest to the Icon/UK release date fiasco. The Independent has acquired an official statement, which can be viewed below.
The film The Tree of Life, starring Sean Penn and Brad Pitt, is set to be one of the most high-profile screenings at next month’s Cannes Festival. However, British audiences may have to wait somewhat longer to see the movie, after its UK distributor said it had scrapped its planned release date.
The film was originally due to open in Britain on 4 May but a legal row between Icon Film Distribution and the international sales agent for the film, Los Angeles-based Summit Entertainment, led to Icon stating that it currently had no plans to release the movie in this country.

It has been rumored for some time now, that Terrence Malick’s The Thin Red Line was going to be a Criterion release. In one of their most recent weekly newsletters, Criterion teased this rumor with a drawing of a thin red lion (get it?) with a word bubble stating “Feelin’ red and blu.” Cryptic?
Yesterday, Benjamin Lim, one of the people working on the restoration for Criterion, twitpic’d one of the images.
Terrence Malick’s The Thin Red Line tells the story of the Battle of Guadalcanal during World War II through the eyes of the soldiers that fought through it. It features an all-star cast which included Sean Penn, Adrien Brody, George Clooney, John Cusack, Jared Leto and John Travolta. It was nominated for 7 Academy Awards in 1998 including Best Cinematography, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Director and Best Picture.
This definitely confirms it! Terrence Malick’s The Thin Red Line...

In the days of Coming Attractions 1.0, at the end of every year I would write a list of what, at that time, were the movies that I was most looking forward to seeing in the coming 12 months. These upcoming top 10 lists reflected the excitement and interest level I had at the end of December. As I entered the new year and new trailers, images and news trickled out about the films that landed on my list, some fell down and off the chart while other new ones emerged and replaced the fallen. Keep that in mind as you read what movies I'm the most excited to see in 2010 because the promise of a movie's greatly conceived of marketing campaign can often fall short of the final product. Which ones from the following list will remain on my best of 2010 list and which movies will crash and burn on the bonfire of hype?...
