While critics had varying opinions, there’s no denying the film’s success, driven by several factors. It can be undoubtedly said that Jurassic Park is a landmark in the history of cinema. The 1993 Steven Spielberg blockbuster played a crucial role in the career of everyone associated with it. However, the success was not so easy for the lead Sam Neill, who had to go through a lot of pain due to a critical injury during the filming.

There have been a variety of "Jurassic Park" Lego sets released in recent years that pay tribute to Steven Spielberg's classic movie and the franchise it spawned. While many of them are geared toward kids looking to play with dinosaurs and various vehicles and settings inspired by the blockbuster franchise, there are a handful of sets intended for the more grown-up builder and collector. We've seen the Lego diorama version of the Tyrannosaurus rex attack on Dr. Alan Grant, Dr. Ian Malcolm, and John Hammond's grandchildren Lex and Tim, as well as a larger Lego set dedicated to the dinosaur theme park's iconic gates, complete with a big buildable T-rex. The latest collectible "Jurassic Park" set is a little more sophisticated.
Lego
Lego has released a "Jurassic World" branded dinosaur fossil set that lets fans build their own T-rex skull, not unlike the one that appears in the franchise's famous logo.

Universal Pictures appears to be wasting precisely zero time in getting the "Jurassic World" franchise back up and running again. Even though we only recently learned that original "Jurassic Park" writer David Koepp has been working on a script for a new installment in the franchise, we've now learned that the studio has set a 2025 release date for the film. What's more, they're zeroing in on a big-name director to tackle the project in the form of David Leitch ("John Wick." "Deadpool 2").
According to Deadline, Leitch is in early talks to occupy the director's chair of the upcoming "Jurassic" film, which does not have a title yet but would be the seventh entry in the series overall. Leitch previously worked for Universal on the "Fast & Furious" spin-off "Hobbs & Shaw," which was a big success taking in $760 million at the global box office back in 2019. "Jurassic Park" is a movie that needs no introduction. One of the finest moments in the career of one of cinema's most celebrated filmmakers, Steven Spielberg's adaptation of Michael Crichton's novel of the same name remains one of the most important blockbusters of all time. It was one of the biggest box office hits ever when it was released, but also a movie that shaped the landscape of blockbuster filmmaking for decades to come. It was a hulking cinematic achievement and one that left some battle scars along the way.

The Super Nintendo Entertainment System, or Snes, is still heralded as one of the greatest consoles that any video game company has ever released. Its legacy is defined by hits within well-known Nintendo franchises like Super Mario, Donkey Kong, Metroid, Kirby, Zelda, and Star Fox.
However, there is a long list of titles that were launched on Snes that acted as tie-ins or adaptations to popular movies and TV series. As was always the case with the jump from screen to console, there were a few duds among the release schedule as studios looked for an easy way to cash in on a familiar property. However, just because there are those video games that players would be best off forgetting, that doesn’t mean there aren’t genuine gems from Snes history. Sam Neill, the actor who portrayed Alan Grant in the Jurassic Park franchise, announced seven months ago that he is being treated for stage-three blood cancer.
The actor had been experiencing swollen glands while promoting Jurassic World Dominion before eventually being diagnosed with angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma.
Neill recently revealed in an interview with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation’s Australian Story that he had been undergoing chemotherapy, which only worked for three months.
The actor explained that he had been in remission for a year as a result of taking a rare anti-cancer drug. This specific drug requires infusions every two weeks.
However, his doctors told him that the drug would, as time went on, cease to be effective.
He has considered his bodily responses to the infusions as “very grim and depressing” but still accepts that the treatment is “keeping him alive.”

Every year, dozens of science-fiction films hit theaters but only a few feature enough intelligence and power to leave a mark. The best ones challenge our minds with captivating ideas and cause us to rethink the world and our place in it. Think Steven Spielberg's "Close Encounters of the Third Kind," Stanley Kubrick's "2001: A Space Odyssey," or John Carpenter's "The Thing," all drastically different tales with unique perspectives on the universe. Or, for a little more fun, hit up Spielberg's "E.T.," George Lucas' "Star Wars," or Luc Besson's "The Fifth Element," then explore the darker nature of life with Ridley Scott's "Blade Runner" and Andrew Niccol's "Gattaca."
The point is that science fiction caters to all crowds—even those needing a good twist. Luckily, the genre features several pictures designed to make heads explode with stunning third-hour revelations. Often, these plot...

Sam Neill, best known for playing Alan Grant in the “Jurassic Park” franchise, revealed in March that he was being treated for stage-three blood cancer. In a new interview with Australia Story, the actor disclosed that he’s been in remission for 12 months thanks to the help of a rare anti-cancer drug that requires infusions every two weeks. The only issue is that this anti-cancer drug will stop working, Neill revealed doctors informed him.
“I know I’ve got it, but I’m not really interested in it,” Neill told the publication about his blood cancer. “It’s out of my control. If you can’t control it, don’t get into it.”
Neill originally underwent chemotherapy for three months, but the treatment was unsuccessful. That’s when Neill’s doctor switched him to a rare anti-cancer drug. Neill said that his body’s reaction to the biweekly infusions is “very grim and depressing…...

It's wild to think that it's been 30 years since the original "Jurassic Park" stormed onto the big screen. With deafening dinosaur roars, thrilling adventure, and special effects that still outshine modern blockbusters to this very day, director Steven Spielberg gave us a bona fide contemporary classic. Because "Jurassic Park" was all the rage, so was the merchandise surrounding it. Along with the action figures and T-shirts, there were also video games. Of course, "Jurassic Park" arrived at a time when video game technology was still growing, and game creators like Nintendo and Sega could only do so much. But damn it, those were fun games, and now they're coming back in one epic collection.
Limited Run, a premium publisher of physical games, is re-releasing all of the "Jurassic Park" video game titles made for Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Game Boy, and Sega Genesis back in the 1990s, but now they'll be playable on Nintendo Switch,...

Time may be an ever-flowing river, but it's hard to believe it's been 30 years since the first (and best) "Jurassic Park" movie graced the big screen. Thirty years ago, Steven Spielberg’s Jurassic Park hit big screens like a genetic-engineered atom bomb. When Spielberg first began imagining the potential of author Michael Crichton’s billion-dollar idea—one which the author shared with him in private before even revealing the concept to the public—the director saw the potential for a modern day King Kong. The comparison would be apt, too, because outside of that 1933 giant ape picture, few spectacles in the history of cinema have left such a big footprint on pop culture.
Still, it cannot be understated just how big Jurassic Park was in its day. While the advent of computer-generated effects had already begun, most famously several years beforehand in James Cameron’s Terminator 2, Jurassic Park’s cutting edge blending of animatronic creations from Stan Winston’s workshop with new CGI innovations at George Lucas’ Ilm astounded audiences and critics alike. To this day,...

Jurassic Park was nothing short of a phenomenon when it arrived in cinemas back in June 1993. Like Robert Muldoon being pursued by a pack of velociraptors, there was simply no escaping the clutches of what was a cultural phenomenon. But while much of the focus was on Steven Spielberg’s movie and its heady mix of stunning special effects and a shirtless Jeff Goldblum, what helped give Jurassic Park that extra bit of bite at the box office was the astonishing amount of merchandising surrounding the film.

The DNA of the summer blockbuster will forever be infused with that of Steven Spielberg changed the game – an event movie that literally had people queueing down the street to watch it (hence the phrase ‘block-buster’), desperate to escape the heat and experience two hours of oceanic terror in an air-conditioned cinema. The Hollywood landscape was never the same. But while it was _Jaws that invented the blockbuster, for a generation of movie-goers it was another Steven Spielberg film that perfected it, nearly two decades later. In the summer of 1993, the director delivered an adventure 65 million years in the making – a monster movie of sorts, boasting groundbreaking computer effects, bigger teeth than Bruce the shark, and a promise to do the impossible: to bring dinosaurs back from extinction before your very eyes. “Welcome… to Jurassic Park.”
There are several building-blocks needed to create the perfect blockbuster movie – it’s not just about action sequences.

Jurassic Park, based on Michael Crichton’s novel, spawned five blockbuster sequels as well as a multitude of spin-off games, toys, novels, and multiple animated television shows. It features a theme park housing de-extincted dinosaurs that break out of their confines and cause havoc. Underpinning the plot is clever genetic engineering that has allowed the Park’s scientists to assume they could control all aspects of the dinosaurs’ development, including their sex, much to their later horror when it becomes apparent such control was never possible. The film franchise has taken an average of over $1 billion dollars at the box office,...

It’s 30 years this June since Jurassic Park roared into theaters. The monster franchise now boasts six films: 1993’s Jp, 1997’s The Lost World, and 2001’s Jurassic Park III — all tracking paleontologist Alan Grant (Sam Neill), paleo-botanist Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern) and “chaotician” Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum) — and the 2015–22 reboot trilogy of Jurassic World, Fallen Kingdom, and Dominion, led by raptor trainer Owen Grady (Chris Pratt) and park exec Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard). (Credit: John Wilson / © Universal Pictures / courtesy Everett Collection) Which is the indomitable best? Dominion should reign supreme, since it united the stars of both eras. Sadly, the ludicrous script and paltry interaction between the two casts proved to be the worst thing to happen to dinosaurs since that meteor hit Earth. It’s clear the classic remains the champ (although World is a close second). It gave us a truly terrifying T. rex and, through groundbreaking effects,...

Proceeds from the sale of the one-of-a-kind items will benefit Unicef UK.
Neill said in a statement, “My Jurassic Park boots, along with my Jurassic World hat, scarf, shirt, and jacket are up for auction at Propstore’s Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction on 28th June. These boots were made for kicking dinosaurs, in the words of the old song. And indeed they did, in the first Jurassic Park. I ran for miles in them. [This story contains spoilers for Shazam! Fury of the Gods and Fall.]
Shazam! Fury of the Gods star Grace Caroline Currey quite literally put her blood, sweat and tears into Mary Bromfield and her superpowered counterpart.
Currey originally played young Mary in David F. Sandberg’s 2019 film, Shazam!, but ceded Super Hero Mary duties to Michelle Borth. However, with Mary now a full-fledged adult in the sequel, Sandberg promoted his frequent collaborator to the Shazamily, making her the only family member to play dual roles.
According to Currey, this scenario nearly played out in the 2019 film since Mary was right on the verge of adulthood.
“When they first cast me, they were toying around on whether or not to have the same actor for Mary, considering she’s the oldest of the kids,” Currey tells The Hollywood Reporter. “But now, with the second one, it was really neat to have that explanation that she’s an adult now.”

According to legend, the chupacabra is a fearsome, blood-sucking beast — a lean and intimidating animal you wouldn’t want to come across feasting on your livestock at night. Not so the cub three kids nickname “Chupa” in Mexican director Jonás Cuarón’s family-friendly Netflix movie. This one looks like a fuzzy-wuzzy baby lynx, with inquisitive amber eyes and a pair of awkward azure wings it still hasn’t learned how to use. A single glimpse of this oversized kitten and you’ll want one for your own, if not the plush version to snuggle up with at night.
That’s a pretty radical reimagining of a mythical monster usually discussed in horror terms, but an inspired way to bring a sense of Amblin-esque wonder south of the border, attempting to do for a legendary Latin American creature what films like “E.T.” did for extra-terrestrials — which is to say, turn...

Sam Neill has reflected on 1992 Jurassic Park, recalling that he was “slightly irked” by the film’s marketing campaign.
The 75-year-old actor opened up about his long career in his recently released memoir, Did I Ever Tell You This?
Neill acted opposite Jeff Goldblum and Laura Dern in Steven Spielberg’s dinosaur blockbuster.
The actor said he felt slightly insecure about his leading part in the movie, in which he plays paleontologist Dr Alan Grant.
“I was racked by the usual insecurities,” Neill wrote in his book, questioning why he had been cast in the role given that he had thought of himself as an “ordinary guy on screen”.
“Why me? I’m certainly not an action hero. The idea of me going hand to hand with Sylvester Stallone or Arnold Schwarzenegger is simply absurd,” he said.

Sam Neill’s new memoir “Did I Ever Tell You This?” has offered movie fans a look down memory lane with anecdotes from some of the 20th century’s biggest movies, including “Jurassic Park” and “The Piano.” But the book also finds time to look to the future, as Neill offers a hint about a new project that might be on the way.
Neill briefly touches on his experience filming “Jurassic World: Dominion,” the 2022 sequel that also saw Jeff Goldblum and Laura Dern reprising their original “Jurassic Park” roles. He also teases that a new, longer cut of the film could be in the works.
“Colin Trevorrow, the director of ‘Jurassic World Dominion,’ a very nice man, dropped me a line recently,” Neill wrote. “He is working on a longer cut, for the fans. I thought it was quite long already, with a lot of characters and even more dinosaurs,...

According to The Guardian, the 75-year-old actor disclosed this information in his upcoming memoir, "Did I Ever Tell You This?" The good news is that Neill is currently cancer free and is in remission.
Per the outlet, Neill underwent treatment for stage-three blood cancer after noticing that he had swollen glands while promoting "Jurassic World Dominion" last year. He received a diagnosis of angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma and was treated with chemotherapy. That didn't totally do the trick and Neill is now taking a chemotherapy drug that he will receive monthly in perpetuity. But, most importantly, he is, at present, cancer free. The 75-year-actor, best known for his role as Dr. Alan Grant in Jurassic Park, announced his battle with cancer in a new memoir set to be published on Tuesday, March 21st.
According to The Guardian, Neill was diagnosed with angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma shortly following the publicity tour for Jurassic World Dominion last year. After initial attempts at chemotherapy were unsuccessful, Neill began taking a new chemotherapy drug which he will continue to receive monthly for the rest of his life. As of now, Neill is cancer-free.

You never forget your first.
Of all the various foes that Tommy Shelby (Cillian Murphy) and his gang have faced over the years in "Peaky Blinders," arguably none have quite managed to measure up to the level of loathsomeness that Sam Neill brought to the role of Chester Campbell, accent and all. Established early on as the show's first major recurring antagonist in seasons 1 and 2, the relentless police inspector (soon promoted to the rank of Major) was handpicked by Winston Churchill himself to take a militant approach to cleaning up the law enforcement of an entire city that had fallen into corruption and avarice. Naturally, that meant taking on the Shelby family and all their interests in an epic struggle that eventually turned brutally personal.

There’s something charmingly accessible about Todd McFarlane and Greg Capullo. Talking to them, you never get the feeling that you’re talking to a multimedia titan of geek culture or one of the most beloved Batman artists of all time, respectively. It feels more like running into two guys tailgating outside an Ozzy Osborne show, inviting you to geek out with them about their comic art collection, shooting the breeze about the car they’re working on together, and periodically dropping preternatural draftsmanship wisdom sprinkled with comic art history. And then McFarlane will say something like, “I’m in the business of cool. Period,” and you suddenly remember that you’re talking to two of the biggest names to ever create comics and that they’re teaming up for a fresh Batman Spawn crossover that is likely to be one of the biggest books of the decade.

“Jurassic World: Dominion” hit theaters this summer as a culmination of sorts for the franchise. For one, it marked an end to the trilogy Colin Trevorrow oversaw since 2015’s “Jurassic World.” But it also brought together “Jurassic Park” characters of old like Sam Neill‘s Alan Grant, Laura Dern‘s Ellie Sattler, and fan-favorite Jeff Goldblum‘s Ian Malcolm to tie up loose ends.

It may have taken a little longer than the previous installments, but Jurassic World: Dominion has now grossed 1 billion at the worldwide box office. The sequel is now just the third movie to reach the 1 billion mark during the pandemic era, after Spider-Man: No Way Home and Top Gun: Maverick.
This recent milestone also means that the entire Jurassic World trilogy is sitting pretty in the billion-dollar club. Jurassic World grossed 1.6 billion worldwide, with Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom taking in 1.3 billion worldwide. The new sequel united two generations of the Jurassic era for the first time. “Jurassic World Dominion” is upon us.
Billed as the last installment in the “Jurassic” “era” (because surely there will be more films), this latest entry in the franchise that began with Steven Spielberg’s masterpiece “Jurassic Park” back in 1993, is bigger and more dinosaur-stuffed than ever. “Jurassic World: Dominion” unites the two halves of the saga, as well – with newer characters like Owen Grady (Chris Pratt) and Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard) partnering up with legacy characters Alan Grant (Sam Neill), Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern) and Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum). Considering that they they are dealing with various ecological disasters, corporate conspiracies and villainous threats, there’s enough adventuring to go around.
But how does the whole thing come together? And where does the movie leave off? Read on to find contextualize that ending if you just caught up with the film on streaming.
Major spoilers for “Jurassic World: Dominion” follow.

The original "Jurassic Park" film by Steven Spielberg made history through its outstanding achievements in animatronics and complex puppetry, truly bringing dinosaurs to life through pure blockbuster magic.
