- She was nominated for a 2009 Joseph Jefferson Award for Costume Design (Large) for the play, "Turn of the Century" at the Goodman Theatre in Chicago, Illinois.
- She was awarded the 1990 Drama Logue Award for Outstanding Costume Design for "Aristocrats" at the Mark Taper Forum Theatre in Los Angeles, California.
- After high school, Granata moved from Connecticut to New York to study art at Columbia University.
