Los Angeles, California (X17online) - A judge granted Sheryl Crow a three-year restraining order against a man who threatened to shoot her, along with film executive Harvey Weinstein. Superior Court Judge James Hahn ordered 45-year-old Philip Gordon Sparks to stay 300 yards away from Crow and Weinstein and make no attempt to contact them. During the hour-long hearing, Sparks accused the pair of stealing $7.5 million from him, videotaping and following him without permission and leaving him homeless. Forensic psychiatrist Dr. David Glaser, who recently interviewed Sparks, called him "imminently dangerous" and said his psychosis is directed intently at Crow. Crow obtained a temporary restraining order against the 45-year-old in July after her legal team reviewed a series of Sparks’ online posts directed at her. Neither Crow nor Weinstein were present at the hearing.

The bloodthirsty creatures of "Pirahna 3-D" won't be taking a bite out of moviegoers for months. The Weinstein Co. announced that they would be pushing back the new thriller for months.
Originally slated to release on April 16th, "Pirahna 3-D" now has a new release date of August 27th. It was slated to open opposite the superhero comedy "Kick-Ass," but the Weinstein Co. thought the two films may have served similar demographics. On its new date, it's currently now up against the urban comedy "The Lottery Ticket" and "Resident Evil: Afterlife."
The Weinstein Co. recently pushed back its sequel to the animated hit "Hoodwinked," "Hoodwinked Too! Hood vs. Evil," slated to hit theaters this weekend. It now has no official release date. Along with a few other releases in limbo, last year it pushed back another 3-D film, "Escape from Planet Earth," to at least 2011.
According to the La Times,...

We predicted via our Twitter account yesterday that we'd be surprised if Alex Aja's Piranha 3D made its April 16 release date. You see, The Weinstein Company has fallen on hard times. Nine is a financial disaster, despite its Golden Globe nominations. And their 2009 genre box office was gloomy. The company has announced Piranha 3D has been pushed out of April into an August 27 slot. David Glaser, a senior Weinstein Co. executive, tells the L.A. Times that the decision was not motivated by finances. August has been a hit or miss month for TWC, many of their Dimension horror releases have come out in late-summer. Halloween II bowed around that time... but tanked. Looks like we'll have to wait a bit longer to see the furious fish! For more on the film, visit (or...

One of the most highly anticipated horror movies of the year is Piranha 3D. Ok, I'm kidding. I actually don't think anyone cares that they made another movie about killer fish. Apparently the Weinsteins care, because they've moved the film from its slated April date to August, to get out of the way of "Kick-Ass".The La Times has more: In what is becoming a recurring theme for Weinstein Co., the production company said it was delaying yet another movie premiere. This time it's "Piranha 3-D," which is moving from April 16 to sometime in August at the earliest, the company said today. Weinstein Co. said it was relocating "Piranha 3-D," one of its more highly anticipated releases, to get out of the way of Lionsgate's movie "Kick-Ass," which also opens that weekend and may appeal to the same young demographics. David Glaser, a senior Weinstein Co. executive, said there were...

Just one day after being treated to some truly splatterific photos from Piranha 3D, fans looking forward to the remake got the rug pulled out from under them as The Weinstein Co. announced it's moving the film's release date from April 16 to sometime in August ... at the earliest.
The sad news came from the La Times, but you can't really fault the Weinsteins for relocating "Piranha 3-D," one of its more highly anticipated releases, to get out of the way of Lionsgate's movie "Kick-Ass," which also opens that weekend and may appeal to the same young demographics.
Despite TWC's recent box office disappointments, David Glaser, a senior Weinstein Co. executive, said there were no financial motivations behind the decision to move "Piranha 3-D."
Thanks to Joey M. for the heads-up.

Something smells like dead fish! It appears the Weinstein's company's financial woes may have finally started to effect the production and release schedules of some of their films due out this year. Tonight, the company announced that Alex Aja's Piranha 3D has been pushed out of its April 16th release date into an undetermined August time slot...
David Glaser, a senior Weinstein Co. executive, tells the L.A. Times that the decision was not motivated by finances. Although that is the general consensus in the industry.
August has been a hit or miss month for the Weinstein brothers, many of their Dimension horror releases have come out in late-summer. Rob Zombie's Halloween 2 along with Michael Myers stalking his way in Haddonfield came out last year yet hit rock bottom at the box office.
