Popular 90s Irish boy band Boyzone are gearing up for a fresh round of concerts as the group reunite in a joint business venture. Formed by Louis Walsh back in 1993, the boyband had put off getting back together for some time now, with rumours they were coming back for their 30th anniversary this year.
Members Ronan Keating, Shane Lynch and Keith Duffy have signed a deal in a business move similar to that made by Hollywood’s Ryan Reynolds and Shut Up rapper Stormzy.
The Boyzone have teamed up to buy shares in Lancashire’s Chorley Fc where they also plan to perform a series of concerts, reports mirror.co.uk.
The band will be heading to this Saturday’s home game against Solihull in the Fa Trophy to officially seal the deal.
Confirming the news, Shane said: “I’m really looking forward to the weekend, we’ve got lots...

Singer Ronan Keating walked down memory lane and recalled how he and fellow Boyzone members spent the last night together.
His former bandmate Stephen Gately had passed away on October 10, 2009, and Boyzone fans remembered how his bandmates slept on the church floor with his coffin the night before his funeral, reports the sun.co.uk.
Keating, Keith Duffy, Shane Lynch and Mikey Graham had held an overnight vigil at St Laurence O'Toole Roman Catholic church so that he wasn't on his own for a moment. They brought sleeping bags into the church and slept beside his coffin.
Keating told Sky News that it was a "beautiful, amazing experience".
Ronan Keating added, "The four of us decided to stay with him on the Friday night in the church. All of us are so happy that we did it. It was our last night together as a five piece, our last real night together.

Collabro's Jamie Lambert has come out as gay. The 25-year-old singer - who is one fifth of the 'Britain's Got Talent' winning boy band - has admitted he has always known he was homosexual and he would have revealed his sexuality sooner but he didn't think it was a big deal. In an interview with The Sun newspaper, he explained: ''No one asked - I have nothing to hide from anybody. I think it's really important that all gay people in the public eye just talk about it. The more that it happens the more normal it becomes. ''I remember when Stephen Gately...

Tips for safe gay travel, Bryan Singer files motion to dismiss, how often do you masturbate?
For all the…questionable behavior from One Direction that’s come to pass this week, I find myself cheering for Liam Payne, who took to Twitter to slam Daily Mail columnist Jan Moir for bashing the band. Moir survived trashing Stephen Gately after his death with not so much as a slap on the wrist, but while I doubt she faces any professional consequences for going after a boyband, she might want to stay inside with the blinds closed after angering Directioners.

Maleficent is crushing the competition at the box office, heading towards a $67 million opening weekend, despite everything about the movie except Angelina Jolie being trashed by critics.

It's been a big week for The Big Reunion. Not only did we get introduced to brand new supergroup 5th Story, but the big Hammersmith gig was last Friday! Well, Girl Thing's Jodi Albert is blogging about her time on the show for DS, so read on to get her take on Hammersmith and which 5th Story member's story broke her heart, as well as much more...
"First of all, Hammersmith was just incredible. The whole thing came together right at the last minute and the reaction from the crowd was just unbelievable. We weren't expecting it, to be honest, and it was amazing. I don't know about getting into it full time, though. I always love performing - it's in my blood to want to sing and dance and act. And when I do something like that, I really do live in the moment and enjoy it. But...

Who knew? But seeing just a glimpse of Gareth Gates on Pop Idol back in the day brought memories flooding back of Dr Fox and Pete Waterman, of Ant & Dec hosting (we forgot!) and of how generally all-round great it was. So thanks for that, Big Reunion.
2. Gareth Gates regrets denying the whole "Katie Price" thing.

Thanks in part to Les Misérables success, Joseph will see technicolour treatment on the big screen, says Andrew Lloyd Webber
It's been a school play, a concept album, a West End hit and a BBC talent show. Now, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is to become a feature film.
Andrew Lloyd Webber, who last week revealed that discussions were ongoing for a screen version of Cats, has now confirmed that Joseph will get the big-screen treatment.
Appearing on The One Show on BBC1, ahead of the official opening of his new musical, Stephen Ward, Lloyd Webber said the film "was definitely happening … That's actually been signed on the dotted line."
The musical, which was first performed at London's Colet Court school, in 1968, has been filmed once, in 1999, with Donny Osmond in the lead role – though it went straight to video. That version also featured Richard Attenborough, Joan Collins and Maria Friedman.

Speaking to The Times' magazine, the X Factor judge addressed his relationship with former Boyzone frontman Keating, stating that the pair are no longer on good terms.
The 61-year-old described Keating as a "little manufactured popstar who actually believed his own publicity", adding: "Ronan thought he was George Michael... He said he didn't want to be a karaoke artist. Well that's what he is."

The budding songwriter has recorded and released 'He's Still Around' in order to raise money for the heart charity Cardiac Risk in the Young (Cry). The release marks the third anniversary since Gately's tragic death on October 10, 2009 when he passed away from an undiagnosed heart condition during a holiday in Majorca. "I don't know if he was going to put it to the lads (in Boyzone) to put it on an album... but then he passed and the song got shelved." We're going to start off with a tear jerker, with A Letter To My Future Son, From a Future Gay Father. I'll wait while you get a tissue, because this is the greatest thing you'll read today.
Somehow, this turned into a Tom Cruise-heavy Meme. First up, we have Mia Michaels talking about helping Tom Cruise master his moves for Rock of Ages. "My hands were all over him at all times, but when you're working, you don't think about that. My hands were inside his pants at one point, pulling him, pulling his pubes, and it was just part of the choreography. It was just very funny, because when you're in the dance, it doesn't matter. It's about if it's right, and if it is, let's go with it."
Next, we have the news that Tom Cruise insisted on authenticity and had as*less chaps for the shoot.

The X Factor judge was being interviewed on Alan Carr’s Chatty Man this evening and when asked about rumours he had dumped the act that shot him into the big time (though if you watch this video you will wonder how that ever happened!) he insisted:
I haven’t dropped them, I just don’t work with them anymore. We had a great time together, it was fantastic.
On why he no longer wants to work with the ‘Love Me For A Reason’ hitmakers, the Irish star continued:
They are all doing their own things but they aren’t doing music full time Alan, that’s the problem.
Keith is in Coronation Street, they are all doing different things but there was no big row…...

Shane Lynch may have denied rumours that his band Boyzone have been dropped by Louis Walsh, but it seems the X Factor judge has different ideas.
Louis insists that he has went his separate ways from the Irish man band, saying that their time at the top has passed and branding them ‘yesterday’s men.’ Miaow!
Speaking to this week’s heat magazine, he explained his actions, saying: “They’re like Blue – yesterday’s men. There’s too much competition for them.”
He added: “You have to have something amazing as there’s so much talent out there: Jls, One Direction, Westlife, The Wanted…”
Louis says things weren’t the same after the death of member Stephen Gately in 2009. He confessed:
“Boyzone can carry on, but it wasn’t working. It was great while it lasted, but it’s time for me to move on.”
Read Shane’s comments on the situation here.

How do we celebrate Valentines Day here at AfterElton.com? With roses, chocolates, and long, lingering kisses alongside rainswept sidewalk cafes in Paris.
Unfortunately, it’s the characters on TV and in movies we’re watching who get to enjoy these moments, not us.
No, we sit at our keyboards grinding out articles like this one, merely writing about some of the most romantic moments in the history of gay entertainment.

Chris Colfer’s big screen debut, both acting and writing, has a director. Saved! and United States of Tara’s Brian Dannelly is set to direct Struck By Lightning as soon as Colfer wraps the season for Glee. That’s going to bring an interesting sensibility to the film.
I was curious how much attention a mainstream publication would give to Auctus, the gay gladiator in Spartacus: Gods of the Arena. TV Guide gave a character rundown, and didn’t mention him at all. So there’s that.
But when they talked about the upcoming glut of romantic comedies on television, they did call Happy Endings a winner, and one reason was “the chauvinistic guy friend (but this time he's gay!)”

I utterly adore Jake Shears, and the fact that he’s happy to be a role model for gay teens when so many other celebrities are saying “I’m a performer, not a role model” is 17 different shades of awesome. “If I’m the go-to for new gays, and if I can be someone that gay teenagers can look at as someone who’s happy and who has made a good life for himself, then that’s great.”

I had a bit of time on my own and said a few prayers." Keating, who is currently a judge on the Australian version of The X Factor, also said that (more)...

The 41 year old Scottish house husband strutted his stuff for the judges and after a brief setback when Simon Cowell asked if he was ever going to sing, Stephen gave an impressive rendition of Disco Inferno.
He may not have the best voice we have ever heard but Stephen has So much personality and stage presence that we think he can overcome that with a few vocal lessons.
Judges Comments:

Cheryl Cole: What a fantastic way to kick off the next series of X Factor. Your eyes are twinkling, its like you’ve come to life up there

The case of the former chief secretary to the Treasury is purely about cash – just like all the rest of the duckhouses and moats
Am I mad or does the fact that David Laws is gay make no difference to the fact that he fiddled his expenses? Laws, the chief secretary to the Treasury, has resigned and referred himself to the Commons standards watchdog for claiming more than £40,000 in parliamentary expenses for renting rooms in properties owned by his secret gay partner, James Lundie, where they then lived.
Laws said: "My motivation throughout has not been to maximise profit but to simply protect our privacy and my wish not to reveal my sexuality." Elsewhere, Laws poignantly said that he'd kept the secret of his homosexuality "from everyone I know, for every day of my life" and that this exposure is "in some ways… a relief". Maybe Mr Laws would be less relieved to realise that,...

Late Boyzone singer Stephen Gately's husband is to receive almost $1.5 million from the star's estate, according to reports. The 33 year old was found dead in October at the home he shared with partner Andrew Cowles in Majorca, Spain.
Gately did not leave a will, but the details of his wealth have now been revealed - the Irish singer had amassed a $4.9 million fortune, according to the U.K.'s Probate Registry. The star owed $3 million in debts and taxes, leaving just under $2.3 million. Cowles will reportedly be handed $675,000 in cash, as well as half of the rest of Gately's estate - which amounts to $779,865.
Cowles, who wed Gately in a civil partnership ceremony in 2006, is reportedly planning to hand the $779,865 to the singer's parents. Following Gately's death, the star's assets were thought to be worth $15 million.
