We were there last year and hope to be covering it again this year. But in the meantime here’s the full list of nominees, featuring the cream of the crop of video gaming.
Personally I hope Uncharted 3 sweeps the board in all the categories its nominated in, and – being a Mario fan – I hope Super Mario 3D Land and Mario Kart 7 pick up awards… although Dead Space iOS could give them a run for the money in the handheld categories!

Animator Michel Gagné has a cosmic bent, as anyone who’s seen his “Prelude To Eden” short can attest, but he’s also a genius at crafting things that slither, skulk, and slink. Those two specialties combine in Fuelcell Games’ debut, Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet, a beautifully rendered exploratory shooter that splices Tim Burton creepiness into the little-loved genre of Nes’ Solar Jetman. Like last year’s Summer Of Arcade champ Limbo, Itsp is a moody, wordless jaunt that capitalizes on its dark, silhouette-heavy stylings with occasional bursts of sound and visual flair. After your neighboring sun is converted into ...

Insert Credit endeavors to suss out where you should be allotting your video game allowance, sifting out a single title from many and crowning it as The One Game You Need to Get This Week. Don't consider these reviews, gentle reader. Rather, think of Insert Credit as a mix of hands-on time, informed opinion and intuition.
For the week of August 4, 2011, you should insert credit into: "Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet."
Like a good cup of strong black coffee, "Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet" has been brewing for a little while now. I remember seeing a trailer for the game about a year and a half ago and being intrigued by the smooth animation and great art direction. Whenevr this thing got here, it'd be sure to have charm up the wazoo. But, as always, the crucial question with games is how that pretty thing on the screen feels once you've got a controller in hand.

Exploration-heavy games like "Super Metroid" and "Castlevania: Symphony of the Night" rely on gravity to cage you in. It's only until very late in those games that flight is granted to the player, letting them comb the skies for remaining bits of undiscovered map. "Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet" goes another way. Flight is the very first thing you're given. You are UFO after all. But it's not the level of freedom that sets this title apart from its Metroid-vania predecessors. It's all about the visuals.
The Basics
There is precisely zero text to read in "Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet," so I may not have the story completely right, but here's what I surmised from cutscenes and the opening level. You are an alien happily living on your home planet with other UFO-bound aliens. One day the planet is assaulted by a mysterious force, a shadow planet, which sucks your homeworld dry.

Image Comics has collected Michel Gagné's The Saga of Rex. The cartoonist's all-ages character first appeared in A Search for Meaning: The Story of Rex in 1998 and was serialised in the award-winning anthology Flight. The new book collects the Flight material in a rearranged and updated format. "It was always my intention to do a [graphic novel]," Gagné told Newsarma. "I just wasn’t sure of the overall story when I started. (more)...

Many Quebeckers probably remember that screenwriter Fabienne Larouche and sport columnist Réjean Tremblay used to form a couple. Together, they penned Scoop a TV series that ran for five seasons on Radio-Canada. Now, this TV network had announced that the first season, which was broadcasted in 1992, will come out on DVD on February 29, 2010.
The show takes place in the world of journalism and often shows it under an unfavourable day. Things are not going well for The Express, a newspaper in Montreal. Two young reporters try to make a name for themselves by working with The Express and by seeking the latest scoop on any given thing tat matters. Stéphanie Rousseau (Macha Grenon) doesn't get along with her dad (Claude Léveillée), who is the newspaper's owner. As for Michel Gagné (Roy Dupuis), he's sick of being stuck in the general news section.
