- Boris Frumin was born on October 24, 1947 in Riga, Latvian SSR, USSR [now Latvia]. He is a writer and director, known for Black and White (1992), Brighton 4th (2021) and Viva Castro! (1994).
- Emigrated from Soviet Union to USA in 1978.
- Taught "Cabin Fever" director Eli Roth, producer Evan Astrowsky, and co-writer Randy Pearlstein, who all named the sheriff character Sheriff Frumin after him. Boris Frumin appears on the "Cabin Fever" audio commentary.
- Often works at Lenfilm Studios in St. Petersburg, Russia.
