Whom Does This Watch Belong to?

One social Cinderella didn't go home when the clock struck midnight at last week's Dia Art Foundation fall gala, which took place at the Hispanic Society of America, in New York City. She probably didn't notice the time as she mingled with guests such as actor James Franco, fashion designer Kate Spade and husband Andy Spade, sunglasses designer Jennifer Creel, fashion editor Stefano Tonchi, and Vanity Fair contributing photographer Timothy Greenfield-Sanders. Can you guess whose jewelry box this watch came from? »

Laura Wright is staying with General Hospital

18 hours ago | AOL - TVSquad | See recent AOL - TVSquad news »

There's a lot to be happy about if you're a fan of General Hospital. There's been some very good news from the soap. Things like James Franco's guest role and the return of the original Lucky, Jonathan Jackson. And Steve Burton has committed to playing Jason for a while longer.

And now comes some news that's downright reassuring. Laura Wright has re-signed a four year deal with Gh. She Twittered the news to her fans. Four years!

To me, this means that not only can we count on the character of Carly being around for a long time to come -- and played by the same actress who has the most tenure in the part -- but also that Gh will likely be around for four more years. Oh, sure, there's nothing guaranteed, but I'm an optimist and I choose to see this as a positive sign.

Franco Eyes Doctorate Degree

9 November 2009 12:01 AM, PST | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Actor James Franco is looking to further his education after completing his masters degree - he's enrolling in a doctorate program.

The studious star is currently studying filmmaking at New York University while juggling writing classes at Columbia University for a masters of fine arts diploma.

But Franco's thirst for knowledge is seemingly insatiable - he's set to obtain his Ph.D. and is checking out courses at Connecticut's prestigious Yale University.

He tells the Yale Daily News, "I'm applying to Ph.D. programs next year so I came out (to Yale) to see what the program was like."

And the 31 year old admits he has endured awkward encounters with fellow students who feel uncomfortable sharing the campus with a celebrity.

He adds, "I had a little incident last night at Columbia that was unpleasant. For the most part the programs I'm in are pretty small. There are about 30 to 40 people in each of my programs. So I know it's not awkward. And I have friends in the programs and all of that. It feels normal to me. It's when I take classes outside of the programs or go to the library where I'm mixing with people that I don't know or don't see in class everyday that I get some weird reactions.

"Columbia has a great library, the Butler Library, and I don't think I can go in there anymore. Because last night I went in, I went into the restroom and this guy was in there and he's like kind of mumbling like, 'You're James Franco, right?' I'm like, 'Yeah, how's it going?' Basically, he didn't get angry. He said he was annoyed with me that I came to the library and that there are girls in the library. He didn't express himself. I think what he meant was that he thought I came to the library to meet young girls and he said it wasn't fair. And I tried to apologise for any disruption my presence had, but he was still annoyed. So I left and I went to the writing building, which is a little more private, but I have to sit there alone in the dark." »

Julia and Javier Still Spreading the Eating, Praying, and Love

Julia Roberts flashed her signature smile yesterday while working on Eat, Pray, Love in Bali. She had good reason to look so happy, since her handsome costar Javier Bardem was also on the set. The duo suited up in hiking gear for an afternoon on a mountain, which seems like quite a contrast to their recent day of floating in the sea. James Franco was her leading man on location in NY over the Summer, but while Julia's on her journey he's back in the states focusing on 30 Rock and General Hospital. James Franco will appear in more than 10 episodes of General Hospital, executive producer Jill Farren Phelps told EW exclusively. Here’s an exclusive shot of Franco with guest star Marsha Thomason (Las Vegas) from his first day on the set. His role will play out over a two-month period. “When we first talked to James, »

Details Emerge on James Franco's General Hospital Role

6 November 2009 4:45 AM, PST | TVfanatic | See recent TVfanatic news »

It's not a rumor and it's not a publicity stunt: James Franco is really coming to General Hospital.

In an interview with TV Guide Magazine, show writer Bob Guza confirms that the actor didn't sign on just to research a film role and that Franco was "fantastic" during his first day of shooting.

As for the character he'll play, details have finally emerged about him: appropriate, his name is Franco and he's connected to the mysterious C077X graffiti tag that's been popping up around Port Charles.

Franco (the character) is a psychotic, albeit self-deprecating, artist; fixated on death and connected to Jason Morgan, the mobster played by Emmy-winner Steve Burton.

“Franco is fascinated with Jason and what he does for a living - he thinks they both love death and are essentially the same kind of guy,” Burton said. “But then Jason refuses to meet with him and that »

Julianne Moore Possibly Plays Alec Baldwin's New Girlfriend in '30 Rock'

5 November 2009 12:16 AM, PST | Celebrity Mania | See recent Celebrity Mania news »

Rumor has it, Julianne Moore will land a role as a new love interest of Alec Baldwin's Jack Donaghy in "30 Rock". According to E! Online, the actress meets all criteria to be the perfect partner of the network executive as she is "age-appropriate, hot, funny and lives in New York." However, Julianne's representative refused to deny or confirm the news and just stated, "You would need to contact NBC for an official answer."

Previously, Alec has given a hint about who will be his new on-screen lover, telling E! Online "I won't say who it is, but someone very near to us who may be coming on to play my girlfriend for four episodes." Unfortunately, NBC has remained mum when asked who will play the character.

James Franco Leaves the 'Hospital,' Heads to '30 Rock'

Actor James Franco is headed to "30 Rock." News that the actor will guest-star on the hit show, which brags a very impressive slew of past guest stars, is nowhere near as shocking as that weird stint on "General Hospital" he's insisting on doing. We guess at the end of the day, Franco realized that he'd had it with hanging at a fake hospital and was ready to hang on a real television show about a fake television show.Former "30 Rock" guest stars have included Jennifer Aniston, Oprah Winfrey, Steve Martin, Jon Hamm and Jerry Seinfeld, as well as a recurring role by Salma Hayek. James Franco Coming to a TV Near You (on 30 Rock and General Hospital)

4 November 2009 1:44 PM, PST | TVovermind.com | See recent TVovermind.com news »

News broke a while ago that James Franco was going to be making a guest appearance on the long-running soap opera, General Hospital.  I found this fun, because I watch Gh (stop making fun of me…..I like some soaps).  Apparently Franco had asked to appear on Gh to experience the demanding shoot schedule of soap actors.  I have a lot of respect for them.  Do you know how difficult it would be to learn your lines and film for a show that airs every single day?

Franco will first appear in Port Charles on November 20 and will be some sort of nemesis of Jason Morgan.

Franco will also be appearing in 30 Rock.  This guy is all over the map, but I like this move.  Because it tells me two things: (1) Franco has range, which is always nice in an actor, and (2) he's not too prissy to appear on television, »

Alec Baldwin is getting a new girlfriend on 30 Rock

Allison already gave you the news that James Franco is going to guest star on 30 Rock, and now Kristin over at E! has done a little detective work and has news about another casting coup for the NBC show (possible spoilers follow).

An E! correspondent talked to Alec Baldwin on the red carpet at an Elle party and Baldwin told her that he's getting a new love interest on the show. When asked who, he wouldn't say, but looked around and said it was someone who was near to them.

Franco Set For 30 Rock Role

4 November 2009 11:11 AM, PST | WENN | See recent WENN news »

James Franco will follow up his stint on soap opera General Hospital with another small-screen venture - he's the latest star to take on a role in 30 Rock.

The 31-year-old actor is currently busy shooting episodes of the daytime medical drama in Los Angeles, but he'll fly to New York to tape his cameo in Tina Fey's hit comedy.

Franco will play himself in a storyline that sees him romance Jane Krakowski's character, Jenna.

She tells EW.com, "(Jenna gets) into a high-profile relationship with a movie star that is arranged by their agents."

Franco follows stars like Matthew Broderick, Jerry Seinfeld and Steve Buscemi who have all made guest appearances on the show. »

Channel Surfing: "Flight of the Conchords" Might Stop Flying, Rosenbaum Arrives at "V," James Franco to "30 Rock," Colin Hanks, and More

4 November 2009 7:28 AM, PST | Televisionary | See recent Televisionary news »

Welcome to your Wednesday morning television briefing. Flight of the Conchords star/co-creator Jemaine Clement has indicated that there might not be a third season of their HBO comedy series but said that a final decision will be made within a month, once Clement discusses it with fellow co-creators Bret McKenzie and James Bobin. "It very likely might not," said Clement. "It could come back in a shorter season or like a special." One major hurdle is that the team would not only have to write the scripts for the series but also the music as well. HBO, meanwhile, will stand by the Conchords' decision either way. "We've left their future entirely in their hands," said HBO spokesperson Nancy Lesser. "We would love to have more, and we left an open door at HBO." (Hollywood Reporter) Chuck executive producer Scott Rosenbaum has replaced Scott Peters as the showrunner on ABC's sci-fi series V, »

Now Introducing 30 Rock's James Franco

4 November 2009 7:10 AM, PST | Movieline | See recent Movieline news »

Performance artist James Franco will follow up his General Hospital arc as a monochromatic Port Charles stranger with a guest appearance on 30 Rock. In the episode, which begins production this week, Franco is lured into an agent-engineered fauxmance with Jenna (Jane Krakowski). While there is a 25 percent chance that the Milk actor will be nominated for a Guest Actor Emmy even if he is wheeled around Studio 6H unconscious in a Spider-Man mask, let's hope he has more scenery to chew than last week's guest star Betty White. James Franco goes from movies to soap to 30 Rock

4 November 2009 6:28 AM, PST | AOL - TVSquad | See recent AOL - TVSquad news »

Wouldn't you love to know who's giving actor James Franco career advice these days? I'm not knocking him or her, but I'd love to figure out the strategy. Or maybe this is just Franco being Franco (like Manny being Manny, for you baseball fans out there)?

James has just started filming his two-month arc on General Hospital -- check out the first pic (right) -- and now Michael Ausiello reports that James Franco will do a guest spot on 30 Rock.

How's that for a career trajectory -- from box office bonanza (Spider-Man) to Oscar feature (Milk) to daytime soap (General Hospital) to Emmy-winning sitcom (30 Rock). He's like a human pinball machine looking for a perfect score!

Willem Dafoe to Re-Appear In Spider-Man 4?

4 November 2009 5:51 AM, PST | FilmJunk | See recent FilmJunk news »

Even though Norman Osborn aka The Green Goblin died in the first Spider-Man flick, the actor behind the mask, Willem Dafoe, managed to re-appear in both the second and third film in the series, through the diluted mind of Osborn Jr. But Harry Osborn (who was played by James Franco) died in the third movie, so that should supposedly be the end of the Osborns, right? Well, that might not be the case after all, at least not if Dafoe has anything to say about the matter, as he isn't opposed to re-appearing in the fourth flick, though he has yet to receive a call. "Let's put it this way — no one's called," Dafoe tells MTV News [1] when asked whether or not he will make a return. "I think it's possible, but I haven't heard anything." So how could it be possible? Perhaps The Green Goblin didn't die after all in the first movie, »
