The American Music Awards red carpet is always filled with daring dresses, bold beauty moments and generally lots of stop-and-stare moments. Case in point: Gigi Hadid’s head-turning red carpet entrance. But the wackiest trend to win over the night was the undergarment craze. Normally there are a lot of super-high slits, dramatically low-cut necklines, but eight celebrities took skin-baring to a new level with their bra-and-underwear-accentuating outfits.

The Cma Awards 2012 red carpet was largely an elegant affair, with plenty of floor-length gowns. Though there were many beautiful dresses, there was a noticeable absence of wow moments. Still, some ladies managed to pull off class and style, without aiming to hog the spotlight.
Jana Kramer did down-to-there just right in a black Anthony Franco, perfectly accented by a Swarovski cuff.
Taylor Swift, as predicted, dazzled in red to match her new album title, uh ... "Red." The gown was a delicate flesh tone fabric, covered by a bursting -- um, red -- floral pattern.
The overall winners for the night were the ladies of Little Big Town, who took home Single of the Year for their "motorboatin" anthem "Pontoon." Karen Fairchild wore a gold, subtly Grecian look, while Kimberly Schlapman offset with a silver, sequined --nicely iridescent rather than blindingly sparkly -- sleeveless gown with a keyhole cut out back.
