- His album, "Frampton Comes Alive" (1976), was the biggest selling live album of all time until being surpassed by Garth Brooks album "Double Live" (1998). The single "Baby, I Love Your Way" is a radio standard.
- Knew David Bowie well and both attended Bromley Technical High School in Bromley, London.
- In June 1978, Frampton was involved in a near deadly car accident in the Bahamas, suffering multiple broken bones, a concussion and muscle damage. Dealing with the pain of the accident contributed to a brief period of drug abuse.
