Dane DeHaan plays James Dean in the first trailer for Anton Corbijn‘s Life, alongside Robert Pattinson as the Life magazine photographer sent to profile him. The premise is not unlike that of the recent David Foster Wallace biopic The End of the Tour: the two embark on a road trip just as the tragically short-lived superstar is […]

"Parks and Recreation" just concluded its sixth season in memorable fashion (here's my review), with the Pawnee/Eagleton unity concert, a trip to San Francisco, big cameos and then a very crazy idea at the very end of the finale which could give us a very different show in season 7. As usual when "Parks" wraps up a season, I emailed co-creator Mike Schur some questions about what went down, and why. It goes without saying that big big spoilers are coming, immediately. When, how and why did you come up with the idea for this three-year time jump? Mike Schur: We were breaking the final batch of episodes and had begun discussing the finale story. Some of it was sort of pre-destined, because we had the Unity Concert, which was going to put the merger storyline to rest, by showing that the town en masse would speak louder than the naysayers.

Sunday nights have become a logistical headache for fans of quality TV. With at least two (and often more) strong shows airing at 9 and 10 p.m. Et, figuring out what to watch, record, save for non-traditional viewing or skip altogether requires more than a little bit of planning.
The good news is that after this week, the 9 o'clock logjam will get a little easier: "The Good Wife" has its season finale Sunday (April 29). The bad news, aside from there not being any more "Good Wife" intrigue until the fall, is that with CBS touting the episode as a can't-miss event, we have to rejigger our viewing priorities a little bit. And that doesn't even take into account the 10 p.m. dilemma, where AMC's "Mad Men," HBO's "Veep" and "Girls," and Showtime's "The Borgias" all reside.
Here's how we're handling things Sunday night*. Let us know what you plan to watch in the comments.

Last week we thought our lil’ Twi-hearts had swelled to full capacity when word got out that Rob Pattinson adopted a stray dog and today his cover story in the April issue of Vanity Fair has knocked us flat on our Rob-lovin’ rumps. In the lengthy interview, accompanied by a Water For Elephants-inspired shoot that we must say is far less loin-tingling than Bruce Weber’s 2009 spread, the ever self-deprecating Rob dishes on everything from Charlie Sheen to Cops to a Pretzel M&M addiction.
Here are a dozen quotes that made our love for Rob swerve dangerously close to obsession.
12. “She was the best actor I ever worked with in my life,” Pattinson says of Tai, his Indian-elephant co-star, who lives in Southern California, where [Water For Elephants] was mostly shot. “I cried when the elephant was wrapped,” or filmed her last scene, says Pattinson. “I never cried when anyone else was wrapped.

Chicago – Late summer and early fall always produce a wave of TV programs on DVD, as if you’ll see the latest season on a store shelf at the local Best Buy and remember that a show returns to the air soon. It’s both advertising and a way for viewers to catch up before another weekly iteration of one of their favorite shows.
Recent releases include “House: Season Five,” “Brothers and Sisters: The Complete Third Season,” “Desperate Housewives: The Complete Fifth Season,” “Californication: The Second Season,” and “Two and a Half Men: The Complete Sixth Season”. They may not get the press of shows like “Mad Men” or “Lost,” but almost all are worth a look for the quality of the show itself, the quality of the DVD release, or both.
