Queen documentary heads up C4 season

Channel 4 will screen a new drama documentary series about Queen Elizabeth II as part of its Autumn season. The Queen, which focuses on landmarks in the reign of Her Majesty, will see five different British actress take on the role. Pivotal moments in her life will be played out by Emilia Fox, Samantha Bond, Susan Jameson, Barbara Flynn and Diana Quick. Also forming part of the new season is Derren Brown: The Events, which will invite viewers at home to interact and participate as the magician aims to trick, win, fool and control through various complex acts. Brown will also participate in Channel 4's 3-D programming week with his special programme Derren Brown's 3D Magic Spectacular. Watchmen—Director’S Cut (Warner Bros.) Director Zack Snyder’s film of Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons’ landmark graphic novel is as worthy an adaptation of a great book that has ever been filmed. In an alternative version of the year 1985, Richard Nixon is serving his third term as President and super heroes have been outlawed by a congressional act, in spite of the fact that two of the most high-profile “masks,” Dr. Manhattan (Billy Cruddup) and The Comedian (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) helped the U.S. win the Vietnam War. When The Comedian is found murdered, many former heroes become concerned that a conspiracy is afoot to assassinate retired costumed crime fighters. Chicago – Two TV shows and two indie horror movies comprise the final edition of the infamous HollywoodChicago.com Round-Up for March. Both shows already have cult followings and the movies are likely to build ones of their own.

There are several major titles hitting DVD and Blu-Ray this week - “Slumdog Millionaire,” “The Day the Earth Stood Still,” “Seven Pounds,” “Marley & Me”. These are the minor ones that have hit stores in recent weeks or are just about to do so.

Cracker: The Complete Collection” was released on March 10th, 2009.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars - A Galaxy Divided” was released on March 24th, 2009.

Donkey Punch” & “Shuttle” will be released on April 7th, 2009.
