Hélene Grimaud Water: Berio: Wasserklavier: Sawhney: Water: Transitions 1-7; Takemitsu: Rain Tree Sketch No. 2; Fauré: Barcarolle No. 5; Ravel: Jeux d'eau; Albéniz: Almeria; Liszt: Les Jeux d'eaux a la Villa d'Este; Janáček: In the Mist: No. 1; Debussy: La Cathedrale engloutie (Deutsche Grammophon) Classical purists be warned: almost half the tracks here are not the solo piano recital you might expect from the billing. Instead, Grimaud had composer Nitin Sawhney create electronic bridging miniatures (ranging from 0:56 to 1:41) fitted between the solo piano tracks. This works wonderfully well, changing this album from a traditional presentation into a moody soundscape (though the purist crowd was quick to take offense, witness the extremely snarky review on classicstoday.com). Of course, Grimaud is her usual scintillating self on the solo piano pieces. The pieces she has chosen for this thematic program are in a couple of cases "usual suspects" -- the Ravel and Debussy...

There's always one day during the Sdcc when you just shake your head, laugh, and say, "This schedule is ridiculous." Saturday, July 20th, is shaping up to be that day this year.
Horror fans will have a lot of choices to make as the "Bates Motel" panel battles the one-two punch of Godzilla and Seventh Son. Later in the day you'll be faced with choosing to learn more about "True Blood," Telltale's The Walking Dead video game, or "Being Human." Right now 20th Century Fox's presentation that runs at the same time remains "To Be Announced," but once details are revealed, we'll provide an update.
Other panels vying for your attention throughout the day are "The Originals," "Grimm," I, Frankenstein teamed with The Hunger Games: Catching Fire (that combination should make for some interesting audience reactions), a look at gameplay from Dead Rising 3 on the Xbox One, more games, comics,...

Jonas Brothers' new album will reportedly be brought forward for purchase in summer. On when exactly the record will be dropped, Billboard comes out, marking June 15 as its release date. There is still no official statement on that matter though.
Reports circulating in the media claim the band's new album will be titled "Lines, Vines, and Trying Times". Such speculation emerges due to Nick Jonas' statement in Rolling Stone Magazine saying, "Lines are something that someone feeds you, vines are the things that get in the way, and trying times, well, that's obvious."
In regard of what they have been working on for the new effort, Kevin Jonas promises to be "adding more and more [new] music" in the record. "We're trying to learn as much as we can, continuing to grow," Kevin adds to Billboard.

A music video to support Demi Lovato's new single "La La Land" has been premiered. Aired for the first time on Disney Channel on December 19 at 8 P.M. Et, it starts with a scene where the Disney star sits down for an interview.
When in-video show's host asks Demi what it is like to be a star, the video switches into a look of satire scenes presenting her "young artist's life in Hollywood" with red carpet events, luxurious rides and bodyguards staying around her. Also, it features cameo appearances from her "Sonny With a Chance" castmates, Tiffany Thorton, Allisyn Arm, Doug Brochu, Brandon Smith and Sterling Knight.
"La La Land" is a pop/rock song appearing on Demi Lovato's newly-outed debut album "Don't Forget". The John Field-produced track was co-written by herself and Jonas Brothers.
