Part Gamer, part Stephen King, I've actually had my eye on Chris Hartwill's Ghost Machine for well over a year now, secretly hoping that its promise of ghostly goings on in a virtual reality game environment would offer something unique to the horror genre. Sort of like Harsh Realm but with teens if you will.
Then, last week, it was reported that the film would be dropped direct to DVD on December 22 and my hopes drooped a little bit. Now that the trailer's arrived it's hard to be too enthused, but this still looks like something I would definitely watch.
Synopsis:
Thrill-seeking military technicians and computer-game enthusiasts Tom (Faris) and Vic (Ford) recklessly smuggle a top-secret, virtual warfare training programme out of their base and into a spooky disused jail, while a vengeful spirit infiltrates the software and draws them into an all-too-real game of life and death.

Beyond Hollywood has posted the first footage from the live-action adaptation of Snk’s video game series King of Fighters which shows some fighting and stunt scenes and some video interviews with director Gordon Chan (Painted Skin, Fist of Legend, Beast Cops) and actors Maggie Q, Sean Faris, Ray Park (Darth Maul from Star Wars: Episode I) and David Leitch blabbering the usual marketing Bs.
Despite Gordon Chan’s involvement, I don’t have much hope for this films after seeing how Hollywood just can’t get away from goofy leather costumes, CG overkill and Dragonball Evolution when it comes to video game adaptations…

After having won two MTV Movie Awards for "Best Fight" for his performances in Never Back Down (alongside Sean Faris) and Twilight (alongside The Twilight Saga: New Moon star Robert Pattinson), Cam Gigandet is shedding his "bad-boy" image for a more thoughtful role in Five Star Day. The trailer for the film, which was recently released, shows that Gigandet's character is much more subtle and withdrawn. Though he is a man on a mission (to disprove the validity of astrology), he is certainly not the high-ego rough and tough personality we saw with James and Ryan McCarthy. Five Star Day will also feature Stepmom star Jena Malone. Below is the trailer, and m »

Sharing his thought with MTV News of winning several awards at 2009 MTV Movie Awards over the weekend, Robert Pattinson offered nothing but modest comment. "It's completely polar opposite," he confessed of his Breakthrough Male Performance prize. "I don't even think anybody knew who I was last year."
As for his Best Fight gong, which he shared with "Twilight" co-star Cam Gigandet, the Edward Cullen depicter jokingly said, "It made me feel really tough. Really hard. I don't think I've ever won a fight in my life. It was cool." He went on praising Cam for his second straight victory in the category, saying "That's crazy how he won twice in a row." Cam himself, who shared his 2008 Best Fight MTV Movie Award with "Never Back Down" co-star Sean Faris, chimed in, "It's amazing. For the second time, it was just as amazing." Asked what made him scoring the award repeat, »

In today's issue of The Twilight Saga Daily Dosage, we tackle the issue of "smoking celebrities," take a look at the Vanity Fair shoot for the West Side Story, and can't help but find some humor in Ashley Green's reaction to a shirtless Taylor Lautner! The continuing story of The Twilight Saga: New Moon continues. So let's get right to it, shall we? "Smoking" New Moon Cast First off, let's be very clear about something: We all know that smoking is bad for your health, and I am in no way making an argument below that anyone should start smoking. As someone who smokes, I know just how addictive of a "habit" it is and I know the risks it causes to my health. As any smoker will tell you: it's better to never start smoking than it is to start and to then try and stop. So if you don't smoke, »

I'm totally psyched West Side Story is heading back to Broadway this year (the show opened this week!) -- so much so that I scooped up tickets for my mom for Mother's Day because I'm good like that (awww) -- but Vanity Fair took things one step further and, for one of their splash-tastic photo spreads, decided to pull together a whole bunch of actors to recreate famous scenes from one of the most beloved musicals of all time, with help from photographer Mark Seliger.
Participants included Jennifer Lopez (Anita), Camilla Belle (Maria), Ben Barnes (Tony), Rodrigo Santoro (Bernardo, leader of the Sharks), Brandon T. Jackson (Sharks gang member), Jay Hernandez (Sharks gang member), Chris Evans (Riff, leader of the Jets), Cam Gigandet (Jets gang member), Drake Bell (Jets gang member) and Robert Pattinson (Jets gang member). Jennifer Lopez and Camilla Belle did their best West Side Story imitations in a new photo shoot for Vanity Fair. Jennifer revealed she watched the original movie 37 times growing up and always wanted to be Anita, who she portrays in the pictures. Rodrigo Santoro is Anita's boyfriend, Bernardo, and Ben Barnes is Tony opposite Camilla's Maria. There are a lot of other familiar faces in the photo series, including Robert Pattinson, who stayed way in the background as a dancer with Brittany Snow (you can see him if you look carefully). Both gangs look gorgeous in a tribute to the classic film - check out the full set here.
