Body of Proof star Nicholas Bishop has admitted that he is keen to learn more about his character. The actor plays cop-turned-medical investigator Peter Dunlop in the ABC drama, which was recently picked up for a second season. 'I want the audience to find out why he became a medical investigator,' Bishop told Zap2it. "He was a cop for a long time and a good cop, so what made him want to become a medical investigator? So, it would be nice for the audience to see what that transition is all about." He confirmed that viewers will "learn more about [Dunlop's] back-story" in the new season, which will air in the fall. NBC and Fox have both unleashed their Fall 2011-2012 TV schedule, now ABC has released theirs. I’m excited to see Castle, Modern Family, and The Middle back in the mix. Most of the new shows they have line-up don’t really interest me, but there are a few that have caught my eye. PanAm is another 1960’s based TV show that will go against AMC’s Mad Men and NBC’s The Playboy Club. There’s a show called Revenge that sounds really interesting, but the new series I’m most excited about is is the fantasy series Once Upon A Time, a show where fairy tales collide with the modern day.
Here is ABC’s full schedule along with a description of all of their shows. Go through them below and let us know what TV series you’re most excited about seeing.

As ABC continues to dole out the good and bad news during its Upfronts press conference Friday (May 13), the stars of freshman drama series "Body of Proof" have reason to be grateful as it has been picked up for Season 2.
"Thank you with all my heart to all of you for helping ['Body of Proof'] get a second season," star Dana Delany tweets. "I'll be celebrating in Nola tonight! As usual."
There was little doubt in the industry that "Body of Proof" would return as it typically wins its hour in total viewers reaching more than 10 million viewers consistently, making it one of ABC's few new drama success stories in a while.
"Well this day just got infinitely better," tweets Jeri Ryan, who plays Dr. Kate Murphey. "['Body of Proof'] got picked up for a 2nd season!! Thank You to all of u for watching!!"
The actress then happily tweets that the show will shoot in...

USA's new summer series, "Necessary Roughness," is currently shooting in Atlanta, Ga. and we hear that it has picked up some heat with a new guest star.
An USA Network rep confirms that "Body of Proof" star, Nicholas Bishop, is guest starring for one episode in the show's inaugural season.
He plays Griffin Page, a dashing former war correspondent who goes on to host his own cable news show. Page seeks treatment from psychotherapist Dani (played by Callie Thorne) after inexplicably cracking up during a somber report and getting suspended from his job.
"[He's modeled] a bit like an Anderson Cooper or Wolf Blitzer," Bishop tells us of the role. "And he basically has a meltdown at the news desk. It's actually pretty funny and the lead [Thorne] kind of starts working with me to get over my issues and to get me back on the news desk."

You are going feel this episode is out of sync with the ones we've seen so far. That's because it was aired out of order. It explained to me why Lacey suddenly thought her mom's job was more interesting than her dad's in "Talking Heads", after telling Megan she was pushing too hard in "Letting Go".
Despite that it was a great one for all the characters.
This episode started off with the murder in progress. Ed Russell was killed with his baby girl lying just a few feet away in a playpen. It happened in a nice neighbourhood not far from where Peter Dunlop grew up.
It's a mystery to the investigation who killed Ed. Who would want to kill a stay-at-home dad, father of two? Was it the wife? Or the angry teenage son?
It had to be a painful reminder for Dr. Megan Hunt, as we can...

Alright! That was sweet!
Megan loathed the life she had in Chestnut Hill, yet she chose to come back and take this latest assignment. Fancy cars. Nice houses. City wide recognition as a top neurosurgeon. The recognition was nice, but she wouldn't want to relive the rest.
The victim was Society Fair Magazine editor, Daphne Zimmer, a powerful woman who has worked hard for her success. Megan automatically draws comparison between the victim and herself.
"Why is it every time a man calls a woman a power player, it sounds pejorative?" (Pejorative means belittling. Yes, I wanted to look up that word the first time Dana Delany said it.)
She wasn't an easy person to get along with. There are no shortage of suspects. They wouldn't find the cause of death until late in the episode. All they had to go on was that she died in her pool two days before she was found.

A man is dead. (Bud is also absent from this episode.) Detective Sam Baker believed it could have been a mugging gone bad, but Megan later discovered that he had bled internally to death shortly after he had surgery. Convinced it was a questionable surgical practice, Megan makes baseless accusations in front former boss, old friend, and hospital administrator Gwen Baldwin (Carolyn McCormick). Now Dr. Hunt needed Dr. Kate Murphy's authority to find evidence and access to the staple gun used in the operation. Further investigation reveals equipment tampering. The urgency to shut down the hospital heightens when Megan realizes there is still two more defective staple guns unaccounted for. You've got to love Curtis for taking the initiative to have a fungus contamination found the tampered equipment tested.
Megan also had to overcome her fears of operating again, when she needed to cut open a man to save his life.

An interracial couple is found dead in their car. Lovers who died where they met. Shot in the head. No witnesses.
Detective Morris believed it to be a simple murder-suicide. The man shot the woman before putting a bullet in his head. No medical mystery. Until Dr. Megan Hunt removed two bullets from the male victim, making it murder.
It was no mistake they got to work with Det. Morris and Det. Baker again. Dr. Kate Murphy (Jeri Ryan) requested it.
To get through the autopsy quickly and efficiently, Megan asked for Curtis' and Ethan's help, letting us get to know these characters better. As Curtis kept saying, working for Nancy Drew -- Dr. Hunt.
Curtis, who was her superior, was not so thrilled about being ordered around, insisting he will not approve any unnecessary tests. He still wants to be called a doctor. Megan wanted him to act like he gives a damn.

I have been looking forward to this. Just when the TV landscape has been speaking only to my short attention span recently, ABC offers up a familiar genre, I missed so much from the 80s, a juicy medical mystery, in the same vein of Quincy with heart. Although, I have not seen Dana Delany's other shows as much. She is one familiar face I love to see on television. And I wasn't disappointed.
The tagline:
Brilliant neurosurgeon Megan Hunt had it all, family and career, or so she thinks... until an accident killed her... career.
After a year as medical examiner, she still has to prove herself to her bosses and struggles to have a relationship with her twelve year old daughter, when her ex-husband got full custody.
In this episode, she is assigned the case of a drowning victim. What she finds out about the girl's life is what helped find her killer.

HollywoodNews.com: ABC’s new Dana Delany vehicle ‘Body of Proof’ premiered last night, and the series needs serious resuscitation to compete with 10 p.m. rivals ‘The Good Wife’ (CBS) and ‘Parenthood’ (NBC).
Delany stars as Megan Hunt, a bristly former neurosurgeon who became a medical examiner after an accident rendered her surgery skills ineffective.
Here’s the first flaw in the setup: doesn’t an Me still need to have steady hands when performing an autopsy? Or do we not care if evidence is destroyed by shaky incisions if the patient is already dead?
Viewers soon discover that in addition to being a brilliant former surgeon, Dr. Hunt appears to also be a brilliant detective – one that must have cut her teeth watching ‘Law and Order: Criminal Intent.’ Hunt is rarely in the lab, spending most of her time flat-footing it with the Philadelphia homicide...

When Dana Delany guest starred on Castle last year, it reminded me of how much I missed seeing her in a worthy lead role on prime time
I've been a fan of Delany since her days on China Beach, but I haven't loved her in everything. Where I found her stint on Desperate Housewives ill-conceived and her short lived series Kidnapped virtually unmemorable, Body of Proof gives her a vehicle that can display her considerable talents.
But that doesn't mean the the series premiere didn't have its flaws. There wasn't much new here story wise, as we met Megan Hunt, a brilliant loner who needs to rebuild her life and career after a tragic accident alters both, perhaps not completely for the worse.
Why is it that all medical examiners on TV need to be somewhat socially inept and better investigators than the police detectives? It is a concept that...

Chicago – Meet Megan Hunt. On second thought, don’t. In fact, avoid her like the plague. If you see her walking toward you, make sure to cross the street or dive into the next room. The woman needs space, you see. She’s been through a lot. And if you so much as throw a word in her general direction, you will be showered with the sort of self-satisfied smugness labeled in some quarters as “empowering.”
Pay careful attention female viewers, because ABC’s “Body of Proof” intends to empower you. Its heroine, Ms. Hunt, impeccably represents the Leigh Anne Tuohy era of faux feminism. Her strength and independence are represented by pure unbridled bitchiness. In scene after scene, Hunt struts into a room with her snobbish little grin and sizes up every situation with a stream of thickly worded exposition while everyone stands sheepishly gawking at her. This is decidedly more irritating than inspiring.

Dana Delany has claimed that her new show Body of Proof will not focus on romance. The actress dismissed suggestions that her character Dr Megan Hunt might find love with medical investigator Peter Dunlop (Nicholas Bishop). "People have asked whether [they] will get together," she admitted to TV Guide. "At first, I was like, 'Why? Why can't they just be friends?' My best friend is a guy, so I don't understand [viewers] always wanting to hook people up, but I know people like that tension." She added that Hunt will eventually get a love interest towards the end of the medical drama's 13-episode run. "We do have a very dashing FBI agent coming on for the end of the season, played by Cliff Curtis," (more)...

Procedurals don't typically do it for me. In general, the casts are pretty much interchangeable (carbon copies of the once-fresh CSI proves that) and stories so repetitious that on more than one occasion I've fallen asleep during a viewing.
But once in a while, a procedural comes along with just enough personality to keep things interesting. Case in point: ABC's new drama, Body of Proof. Much like its network counterpart, Castle, its lead stands out in such a way that the series feels fresh.
As Megan Hunt - neurosurgeon turned medical examiner, following a career-ending car accident - Dana Delany makes great strides in setting this series apart from your average, run of the mill procedural. While some might consider it House in heels, I found Body of Proof to be much more entertaining than that Fox hit.
In fact, within the first five minutes of the pilot, I was already in love with Megan.

The only show I can really remember watching about a medical examiner was Quincy M.E. Now, I know there have to have been more on since then, but the only one that made an impression must have been Quincy.
It also seems years since Dana Delany has been where she belongs: headlining a show and acting in a medical capaci ty. If you were breathing at the time I hope you were watching China Beach hands down one of the best shows about a war ever created, and for some reason, also one of the best shows not available on DVD. Point is, Delany proved herself for years as Nurse Colleen Murphy, and she deserves this role.

ABC's new crime drama, Body of Proof, asks a question that television shows have been trying to figure out for decades, usually without positive results - Can a really irritating, annoying bastard be the center of a show? This time around, perhaps softening the caustic nature of things (perhaps not), Dana Delaney is our obnoxious misanthrope du jour.
Dr. Megan Hunt (Delaney) was Head of Neurosurgery at a top Philadelphia hospital five years ago, but a car accident left her with a condition that causes her to lose full control of her hands. Random numbness and cramping in your hands not being one of the chief qualifications of a brain surgeon, Dr. Hunt has shifted to a job as a Medical Examiner. Still hoping to return to neurosurgery one day, and having lost custody of her daughter in the divorce, Dr. Hunt is... cranky.

In another case of finally using their bigger shows to boost the newbies, ABC is scheduled to air the second episode of the Dana Delaney procedural Body of Proof after a new episode of Desperate Housewives on April 3. The alphabet has sometimes been a little hesitant to rock the boat with their scheduling, but between this move, putting Mr. Sunshine behind Modern Family, and allowing the Off the Map premiere to get a second viewing post-Grey's, it seems that they're finally using their assets wisely. It's not been a great few seasons for new ABC dramas (in terms of ratings), so this move could help solidify Body of Proof into the next channel mainstay.
