"Look, we're all together just as we planned! Let's enjoy it." Trinity Creative has released an official trailer for a British dark comedy titled Dead Fred, from filmmaker Deanna Dewey. This kind of seems like an all-women update on Weekend at Bernie's, but with posh British ladies in the countryside making fun of their husbands. When three women go to stay with their long-time gal pal, they get more than they bargained for when they discover their friend's missing husband is still in the house even though he's been supposedly "missing" for 4 years. Starring Sandra Dickinson, Susan Kyd, Jane How, Judy Norman, Melissa De Mol, with Tim Faraday and Henry Douthwaite. Definitely not for everyone, but it looks proper kooky. Here's the first official trailer (+ poster) for Deanna Dewey's Dead Fred, direct from YouTube: Three women reunite in support of their longtime friend—and get more than they bargained for,...

Over the years, there have been several - mostly unsuccessful - attempts to bring back Thunderbirds.
However, where others failed, Thunderbirds Are Go! looks set to succeed.
Debuting 50 years after the original series first aired, Digital Spy sat down with the cast to talk comparisons to 24, why the show is "the opposite of naff" - and why fans of the original will be happy to see this incarnation of International Rescue back at work.
Lady Penelope - Rosamund Pike
"It was an easy 'yes' as soon as ITV asked me to voice Lady Penelope. It was a huge compliment and I knew it would be a very exciting adventure.
"Exploring the scenes with David Graham has been an absolute delight. The scripts are very modern, very fresh and very funny. I love working with him, and the bond between Parker and Penelope and the humour that is batted between them is really fun to play.

Everything that's been released so far has looked really cool, but today we bring you one of the best things that I've seen yet. It also points fans to the official Thunderbirds.com website, where you can learn more about the upcoming reboot of the 1965 series.
The special effects in the series were done by Peter Jackson's Weta Workshop. I haven't seen the original series in years, but it was fun to watch. I know there's not much to see in this teaser, but I think this could be a great reboot if it's done right. I'm looking forward to seeing more. Below you'll find some additional details about the upcoming series.

When I was a kid I was a massive fan of the likes of Beavis and Butthead and Ren & Stimpy – two cartoons that, even though dubbed “cartoons”, were not really suitable for younger kids. The former show pushed the boundaries of acceptability, often using lewd humour to get it’s liberal point across (something which went over my head, I just liked the toilet humour); whilst the latter took the gross-out route: mixing toilet humour and horrible sight gags, at the same time taking satirical pot-shots at various aspects of society.
In the years that followed, the idea of “adult animation” spawned an entire TV channel in the Us, Adult Swim, which in turn gave birth to one of my all-time favourite animated shows, Robot Chicken,...

How about some information on this season’s villain? When my colleague Samantha Highfill spoke to Julie Plec about a new big bad, she claimed this season was going to have a number of “conflict providers.

Remember the British TV series from the 1960s, Thunderbirds? The puppet, action, sci-fi epic series holds a special place in the heart of a certain generation and now the folks from ITV Studios are hoping for it to catch on with an all-new audience. The series is going to be relaunched in 2015, with the name Thunderbirds Are Go, and they've tapped Weta to handle the effects for the update- which will use a combination of miniature sets and CG characters. The original was filmed using a technique that creator Gerry Anderson called Super Mario Nation (I like that!)...oh wait, I'm sorry. That's Supermarionation.

Read the previous part in this series, Doctor Who: the film careers of Patrick Troughton and Tom Baker, here.
In March 1981, as he made his Doctor Who debut, Peter Davison was already one the best known faces on British television. Not only was he the star of both a BBC and an ITV sitcom - Sink Or Swim and Holding The Fort - but as the young and slightly reckless Tristan Farnon in All Creatures Great And Small, about the often humorous cases of Yorkshire vet James Herriot and his colleagues, he had cemented his stardom. The part led, indirectly, to his casting as the venerable Time Lord.

My favourite books of 2013 are Drama High (Riverhead) by Michael Sokolove, Sea Creatures (Turnaround) by Susanna Daniel, and & Sons (Harper Collins) by David Gilbert. Drama High is incredibly smart, moving non-fiction about an American drama teacher who for four decades coaxed sophisticated and nuanced theatrical performances out of teenage students who weren't privileged or otherwise remarkable and in so doing, changed their conceptions of what they could do with their lives. Sea Creatures is a gripping, beautifully written novel about the mother of a selectively mute three-year-old boy; when she takes a job ferrying supplies to a hermit off the coast of Florida,...

Earlier this year came news that Gerry Anderson's Thunderbirds is returning to ITV with Thunderbirds Are Go!, which prompted us to scribble a wish-list of what we'd like to see in the new series. A role for Grandma Tracy (tick!) and the return of the original series' Parker (sort of tick! Close enough anyway) were two such items.
Here are the actors announced as voicing Anderson's well-loved characters in this modern update...
David Graham as Parker
Bringing continuity from the original series to the new is David Graham, the voice of Brains, Gordon Tracy and more in the sixties Thunderbirds. Graham is to bring Lady Penelope's chauffeur Parker to life in this iteration of the series.

ITV is developing a reinvention of the 1960s series "Thunderbirds," and it's going to star a lot of familiar faces. Called "Thunderbirds Are Go!," the new show will feature Rosamund Pike and "Game of Thrones" star Thomas Brodie-Sangster.
Pike will play secret agent Lady P, while Brodie-Sangster will portray both International Rescue brothers Gordon and John Tracy. Also in the cast are Kayvan Novak as Brains, Rasus Hardiker as both Alan and Scott Tracy, Sandra Dickinson as Grandma Tracy, David Menkin as Virgil and Andres Williams as The Hood, the show's villain. Original voice actor David Graham will reprise his role as Lady P's chauffeur Parker, while new characters will be voiced by Angel Coulby and Adjoa Andoh.
"Thunderbirds" creator Gerry Anderson passed away in December at age 83 after a two-year battle with Alzheimer's disease. His original series ran from 1965 to 1966. This new show will air on ITV in 2015.

ITV's new series brings in Rosamund Pike as voice of Lady Penelope, with David Graham returning as chauffeur Parker
Rosamund Pike will provide the voice of Lady Penelope in the new ITV version of Thunderbirds in a cast that also includes Fonejacker's Kayvan Novak.
However, some things remain the same: David Graham, who provided the distinctive nasal tones of Lady Penelope's chauffeur, Parker, in the original 1960s children's series, is to reprise the role.
Pike, the actor best known for her role as a double agent opposite Pierce Brosnan in James Bond film Die Another Die, said she was "very excited to bring Lady Penelope's wry wit and taste for adventure to a new generation".
The new series, which will be called Thunderbirds are Go!, also sees the return of Graham as the voice of Parker. Graham voiced Parker, along with three other puppet characters, in the original series...

Redman added that her exit from the series had been "a very tearful goodbye".
"I do feel how Sandra leaves is spot on," she added. "She is faced with some very difficult decisions.
"What the writers did was take my own reasons for leaving New Tricks and use the same arguments with Sandra, which I thought was clever."

New Tricks Season Nine
New Tricks has become one of the staples of British TV over the last decade and its success is hardly surprising given the quality of the cast. Regulars include Dennis Waterman (Minder), James Bolam (The Beiderbecke Affair) and of course Amanda Redman (Honest). The show is a humorous drama about a group of haggard old cops who are tasked with solving cold cases. The evidence is typically scarce, the witnesses are dead, senile or unwilling to talk and aside from the other obstacles they face, the squad members have to try and get along with each other. When they’re in the mood, the team are quite effective but all too often DS Sandra Pullman (Redman) is forced to bang heads together to get things done.
New Tricks Season Nine starts with the kind of jaw dropping moment that fans of long-running shows dread.

Zoe provides an introduction to the TV version of The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy, a television series unlike any other...
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable series. In fact it's arguably the most remarkable series ever to come out of the British Broadcasting Corporation. Not only is it a remarkable series it is also a highly successful one, having already been produced as a radio series, novel, LP and stage show.
Labelled by unimaginative producers as ‘unfilmable’, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy was aired on BBC two in January 1981 to an eagerly awaiting audience of fans and hoopy froods alike. The award winning series starred many of the original cast members including Simon Jones as Arthur Dent, Mark Wing-Davey as Zaphod Beeblebrox and Peter Jones as the voice of the guide; however for the TV series a new Trillian and Ford Prefect were required.

Oh, it's just another week in the celebrity rumor mill. This week, In Touch magazine ran a cover with a laughing Sandra Bullock and director/notorious playboy Brett Ratner Photoshopped atop her long, luscious mane. "Sandra'S Risky New Romance," the headline reads, the font enlarged with each line to drive home its point. Then comes the caption: "Two years after her divorce, she's finally opened her heart and learned to trust again. But will dating Hollywood's biggest player end in heartbreak?"
Turns out, the only thing Bullock is doing with Ratner is talking. Both Bullock and Ratner have issued the following statement exclusively to The Huffington Post, deriding the magazine while firmly denying any claims of a romantic connection.
"We think that it's incredibly sad that in these times, this magazine would resort to complete fabrication, solely for financial gain. There is not a shred of accuracy in their story.
