Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans, opening in theaters on November 20th, may share it's name with the 1992 Harvey Keitel film Bad Lieutenant but as far as director Werner Herzog is concerned, that's all they share. The film, according to the director, is not a remake but instead a film noir throwback with purposely ridicules over-the-top and hilarious moments. Nicolas Cage gives a "scene-chewing" performance like only the Oscar winning Cage can as a post-Katrina New Orleans police officer on a downward spiral of drugs, lies, power and corruption. Be sure to keep your eye out for Herzog's trademark symbolism in one scene that plays out from an imaginary Iguana's point of view and another where a dead man's soul break-dances. We had an opportunity to speak with the notoriously eccentric Herzog and leading-lady Eva Mendes about the new film, working with Nicolas Cage and those damn Iguanas. To »

Yahoo have debuted the first trailer from Nicholas Cage’s new movie, ‘Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans’. The movie also stars Eva Mendes, Val Kilmer, Fairuza Balk, Jennifer Coolidge, Vondie Curtis Hall, Shawn Hatosy, Denzel Whitaker, Xzibit, Shea Wigham, Katie Chonacas, Brad Dourif and is a remake of Abel Ferrara’s ‘Bad Lieutenant’ made in 1992 which starred Harvey Keitel.
The name makes it sound terrible although the images I posted previously and this new trailer actually make it look pretty good. The problems may come with the fact that it has Mr. Nicolas ‘hit and miss’ Cage in it and we could be in for a bumpy ride!
‘Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans’ has no UK release date as yet.

Below we have two new posters for Werner Herzog’s film “Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans,” remake of sorts of Abel Ferrara’s infamous 1992 film, which originally starred Harvey Keitel.
Nicolas Cage plays a rogue detective who is as devoted to his job as he is at scoring drugs — while playing fast and loose with the law. He wields his badge as often as he wields his gun in order to get his way. In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina he becomes a high-functioning addict who is a deeply intuitive, fearless detective reigning over the beautiful ruins of New Orleans with authority and abandon. Complicating his tumultuous life is the prostitute he loves (Eva Mendes). Together they descend into their own world marked by desire, compulsion, and conscience. The result is a singular masterpiece of filmmaking: equally sad and manically humorous.
The film also stars Val Kilmer as the cop’s partner, »

Between its September 15th DVD release date and FEARnet running the unaired episodes, there are plenty of ways to dig on what you didn't see while "Fear Itself" was on TV. For those of you without cable who are curious for a taste, we've got an exclusive clip and stills for you from an episode called "Chance".
"Chance" is directed by John Dahl (You Kill Me, The Last Seduction) and written by Lem Dobbs (The Score) and Rick Dahl (Red Rock West). In the vein of such classic doppelganger stories as Jekyll & Hyde and Poe's William Wilson, the episode explores a dreadful, classic battle that ensues when a man, played by Ethan Embry (Brotherhood, Sweet Home Alabama), is confronted by his evil self. Also starring are Christine Chatelain (“Smallville”) and Vondie Curtis-Hall (“ER,” Soul Food). Premieres on FEARnet: 9/6 -- Ends 9/16

"Fear Itself" should be pretty fresh in your minds considering it's hitting DVD soon with some very bitchin' artwork. The short-lived show was like the unofficial third season of "Masters of Horror". For various reasons it was pulled before it could run its final five episodes. FEARnet is out to fix all that.
Starting on September 2nd the final five will begin being aired. Below you'll find a synopsis of each episode and when you can tune in to see them.
"Something With Bite," directed by Ernest Dickerson (NBC’s "Heroes"), is a reinvention of the classic werewolf story from writer Max Landis ("Masters of Horror"), the son of John Landis ("An American Werewolf in London"). When a veterinarian (Wendell Pierce, “The Wire”) is bitten by a large, strange animal brought into his clinic, he begins to see the world and his stale life differently. Thanks to our friends at Collider.com, here's a sneak peak at Werner Herzog's Bad Lieutenant remake continuation, with Nicolas Cage's Louisiana cop going well and truly off the reservation in a blizzard of cocaine, fast women and ginormous handguns.Click here to watch the trailer. With Herzog behind the camera and a cast that includes Cage, Eva Mendes, Xzibit, Vondie Curtis-Hall and Val Kilmer, Bad Lieutenant: Port Of Call New Orleans could be a work of genius. Mad genius, but genius all the same. And it's potentially the start of a franchise. Says Cage: "You could have Bad Lieutenant: Port Of Call London next. It could happen!"Bad Lieutenant: Port Of Call New Orleans is out in December. »

Werner Herzog's self-proclaimed-non-remake Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans starring Nicolas Cage has just received an online burst of coverage thanks to a promo reel that has just arrived online. The film is described as an updated version of 1992's The Bad Lieutenant, but Herzog has said he has never seen the original which received an Nc-17 rating with the depraved title character (Harvey Keitel) heavily involved in drugs, gambling, sex and stealing while a New York police officer. Well, whether Herzog never saw the original or not it appears he has tapped into that description to excess. Along with Cage the film features Eva Mendes, Val Kilmer, Fairuza Balk, Jennifer Coolidge, Vondie Curtis-Hall, Shawn Hatosy, Xzibit, Shea Whigham, Brad Dourif and Denzel Whitaker and is expected to hit theaters at the end of this year. My assumption is the promo below was made for Cannes as sale »

I had never seen Falling Down so when it was offered up for review I jumped at the opportunity having heard enough good things about it to attract my interest. Starring Michael Douglas and directed by Joel Schumacher, the film is a bit scattered at times and relies heavily on the audience giving in to the premise and ignoring the fact the entire film is a random series of extreme coincidences. It walks the line between serious and satire and at one point even dabbles in loony, but overall it's a good watch even if I wouldn't recommend you run out and buy it blind without at least seeing it once. The film begins on the baking streets of Los Angeles and Schumacher does a fantastic job of representing a hot and claustrophobic atmosphere. Stuck in traffic, this is where we first meet William Foster (Michael Douglas) as his skin is crawling with impatience, »
