Warning: Spoiler alert! Do not proceed if you have not watched Thursday’s episode of Nashville.
The grieving process has begun on Nashville.
One week after Rayna Jaymes’ (Connie Britton) devastating death on the country music drama, her family and close friends mourned their unexpected loss on Thursday’s episode, titled “I’ll Fly Away.” The show didn’t waste any time showing Rayna’s funeral, with her widower Deacon (Charles Esten) delivering a heartbreaking eulogy by Rayna’s white coffin fit for the country queen.
“She was my north, my south, my east and west; my working week, the Sunday rest; at noon, midnight; my talk, my song,” Deacon begins, breaking down in the middle of his remembrance as the rain poured down. “I thought that love would last forever. I was wrong.”

The Fox drama on Tuesday tweeted photos from the Season 2 set, including snapshots of Rock’s guest appearance as a prison inmate. The comic will reportedly play a man from Lucious’ past, whom he encounters while incarcerated on murder charges.

"Nashville's" Rayna Jaymes (Connie Britton) has been having a tough few months. She's been forced to tour with upstart pop starlet Juliette Barnes (Hayden Panettiere) after the young diva stole Rayna's former flame and loyal guitarist Deacon Claybourne (Charles Esten) as her own bandleader and she's watched her marriage with Teddy (Eric Close) disintegrate after her husband asked for a divorce. Clearly, being on top clearly ain't all it's cracked up to be.
In HuffPost TV's exclusive preview clip from this Wednesday's episode (Feb. 27 at 10 p.m. Est on ABC), Rayna is given another unwelcome reminder about the price of fame after she tries to watch her daughters' ballet class in peace. Sadly, when you're in the public eye, it seems like all your dirty laundry is fair game for both nosy moms and paparazzi.

When ABC’s Nashville premiered in the fall, critics were immedidiately smitten with the new drama, with several calling it the best pilot of the season.
The story of country star Rayna Jaymes (Connie Britton) and her young competitor Juliette Barnes (Hayden Panettiere) is a simple one, but at the same time, it’s not so simple. Backstabbing, cheating, undermining and more abound in this series, proving that it’s not easy to reach the top — and it’s even harder to stay there.
Its initial strength aside, though, the stories stalled as the show crawled toward its winter finale, with love triangles seemingly going nowhere and time spent on characters about whom viewers could care less (As much as Eric Close tries,...
