Shellaine Corwel was born in Los Angeles, California. She is part of
the 2D department at Rhythm & Hues - the Academy Award winning effects
house responsible for
Babe (1995). She has a degree in design from FIDM &
was a fashion designer for several Los Angeles based companies before
making the jump to digital effects in 1996. Her 2D specialties include
morphing/warping in elastic reality, compositing & digital painting.
She has done effects for a variety of movies - from making animals talk
in
Doctor Dolittle (1998) to collapsing domes in _Battlefield Earth (2000)_ as well as some of the ninja
cat sequences in
Cats & Dogs (2001). As a sideline, Shellaine designs jewelry for
the very hip Los Angeles company, Trophy Girl & her necklaces have been
featured in such shows as: Will & Grace, Buffy the Vampire Slayer,
Dharma & Greg, Boston Public, VIP, General Hospital, Days of Our Lives,
Young & the Restless, Access Hollywood, Entertainment Tonight, Extra &
Popular.
