- Dorothy Compton is known for The Thrifty Pig (1941), When Do We Eat? (1934) and Birds of a Feather (1931).
- Compton and 11 other actresses (out of 300) won a two-day beauty contest sponsored by Paramount Pictures in March, 1932. The other winners were Mary Ashcraft, Lynn Browning, Nadine Dore, Dorothy Dix, Mary Cooper, Muriel Evans, Harriet Matthews, Gale Ronn, Mary Jane Temple and Gwen Zetter. The celebrity judges were actress Carole Lombard, costume designer Travis Banton and director William C. de Mille. The prize for all winners was apparently an uncredited group cast appearance in Sinners in the Sun (1932).
- Remained friends with Gwen Zetter and attended the 1935 ceremony when Swedish-born Zetter became a naturalized American citizen.
- A member of the vocal trio The Debutantes which toured with Ted Fio Rito's Orchestra in the 1930s. The other two members of The Debutantes were Marjorie Briggs and Betty Noyes and the trio notably appeared in the 'Paris Honeymoon' number in I Married an Angel (1942).
