Right now, it looks like Poison Ivy is quickly becoming Gotham‘s equivalent of James Bond insofar that she’s being continuously recast. As you should remember, Clare Foley played a much younger version of the character – Ivy Pepper – beginning with the pilot episode, before being aged up via sci-fi means at the start of season 3. And with that passing of the torch came Maggie Geha, who’s done a fine job in the time since.
Geha, who was billed as a series regular for the duration of season 3, actually ended up being criminally underused and has since been demoted to “guest star” in season 4. Now, the latest word to come down says that she’s unfortunately out, and that Peyton List is in.
Here’s what Gotham‘s producers had to say about this bold move:

The CW has released a new trailer for Supergirl Season 3 called "Hero's Journey." It includes some new footage from the upcoming season and it looks like it's going to have a bit of darker tone as Kara Danvers (Melissa Benoist) struggles with her secret identity. Regardless, we know that she will find her way and figure out how to juggle the dual lives that she leads.
Supergirl also stars Mehcad Brooks as James Olsen, Laura Benanti as Alura Zor-El, Calista Flockhart as Cat Grant, Chyler Leigh as Alexandra “Alex” Danvers, Jeremy Jordan as Winslow “Winn” Schott, Jenna Dewan Tatum as Lucy Lane (sister of Lois), David Harewood as Hank Henshaw, Peter Facinelli as Maxwell Lord, with Dean Cain and Helen Slater.
Here are some additional details on the newcomers to the series and the roles they will be playing in the series.

The change of networks, budget cuts, location changes, and much more between the first and second seasons of Supergirl brought much change to the TV series. Most importantly, several cast changes. Not only did we lose Cat Grant (the heart and soul of Supergirl, in my opinion), we lost Lucy Lane, and by default General Lane, and even Maxwell Lord. Not that these characters were all "liked," but each brought something to the series that is clearly missing in season 2. Let's focus on just a few.

Now that The CW has moved on from the romance between Kara Danvers and James Olsen, what is left to do with the character? Lucy Lane isn't around and the Girl of Steel doesn't really need his help now she's an experienced superhero, so Supergirl is taking the surprise decision to have him become a vigilante. In this first look at next week's instalment, we get a glimpse of him embarking on that path. Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) must beat a ruthless new gang who has been armed with dangerous new alien technology. When Cadmus sends a video to the Deo, the team realizes Cadmus is the one staffing the criminals for a secret mission. Meanwhile, Kara (Melissa Benoist) gets Mon-El (Chris Wood) a job as an intern at CatCo, James makes an important decision and Lena (Katie McGrath) invites Kara to attend one her fundraisers. Glen Winter directed the episode...

In mid-June, fans of Supergirl received some great news: a Luthor is coming to National City. Specifically, Lena Luthor, younger sister of the infamous Lex Luthor, enters the regular cast in the upcoming Season 2.
“Lena Luthor, who will be in the 25-35 year old range, arrives in town to get out from under the shadow of her infamous brother. She’s described as sexy and smart and determined to get what she wants. But what does she want? That remains unclear.”
That’s how TV Line described the character, presently in casting for the second season of Supergirl. What will she do to shake up Kara’s world? Well, we’re going to find out.
However, here’s something Lena definitely should be: A job opportunity for a paraplegic actress.
Lena’s casting as paraplegic remains faithful to the comics. According to the DC Wikia, she got sick when her...

I don’t know what the hell goes on in the minds of the CBS suits, or why the hell they are dragging their heels about Supergirl’s future.
But it doesn’t look good.
Monday night at 8:00 I turned the television on to CBS, only to see that Big Bang Theory was on for the entire hour. This isn’t the first time the network has done this; so have other networks for other shows, and it’s almost always a sign that the show is struggling for life, that its ratings are not satisfactory enough for the suits to keep the show on the air.
CBS is not a network noted for niche or cult programming, or a network geared towards the “coveted” 18-34 slice of the Nielsen ratings. Their programming has been dominated by police procedurals (NCIS and its many spin-offs) and soapy dramas masquerading as law procedurals (The Good Wife,...

On top of releasing the official synopsis for Supergirl’s final episode, CBS has now shared a couple of new images as a bonus.
Titled “Better Angels,” the episode will show Kara who “is forced to do battle with an unexpected foe and must risk everything – including her life – to prevent Non and Indigo from destroying every person on the planet.”
Could that be the greatest test for Supergirl so far?
The cast includes Melissa Benoist as the lead character, Mehcad Brooks as James Olsen, Laura Benanti as Alura Zor-El, Calista Flockhart as Cat Grant, Chyler Leigh as Alexandra “Alex” Danvers, Jeremy Jordan as Winslow “Winn” Schott, Jenna Dewan Tatum as Lucy Lane, David Harewood as Hank Henshaw, and Peter Facinelli as Maxwell Lord.

A few thoughts on tonight's Supergirl/Flash crossover coming up just as soon as we both have Mariah Carey... DC and Marvel have taken very different approaches to the way their film and TV properties interact, or don't, each with their own pluses and minuses. The Marvel TV shows can take clever advantage of sharing continuity with the films, like how Kingpin's scheme in Daredevil season 1 was inspired by the alien invasion from Avengers, or the shows can become largely beholden to the agendas of the films, like Agents of Shield. Fans of DC's TV shows, meanwhile, may be annoyed that the movies are considered a wholly separate thing, and that it's Ezra Miller playing the Flash on the big screen instead of Grant Gustin, but the flip side of that coin is that the TV shows don't have to be beholden to the cynical, joyless, self-loathing grimdark aesthetic of Zack Snyder's films.

Monday’s episode of Supergirl brought us one week closer to The Flash’s arrival in National City. But until Grant Gustin’s masked hero makes his appearance, we’ll have to settle for a whole slew of flashbacks. (Eh? See what I did there?)
Fortunately, the CBS drama’s latest installment was chock full of blasts from the past, which revealed a whole lot about its core characters. (Are any of us surprised that Winn had a super-dorky hairstyle two years ago? The matted-down look does not become you, Mr. Schott Jr.)

Earth's male super-powered population had better be prepared, as none other than Maxima is coming to Supergirl - and if she's anything like her comic book counterpart she's going to be searching for a suitable mate. CBS has released the first clip from this coming Monday’s brand new episode of Supergirl, which bears the exciting title of “Manhunter.”
This installment looks to be the culmination of everything that has been brewing with Hank Henshaw/J’onn J’onzz/The Martian Manhunter since the start of the series and is one that I personally can’t wait to see.
In the clip, Lucy Lane leads a Marine Corps inquisition putting the Deo under investigation, much to the chagrin of Supergirl and her sister, Alex Danvers. This scrutiny is a result of Martian Manhunter being forced to publicly reveal himself following Kara’s going berserk thanks to Red Kryptonite exposure in the most recent episode, “Falling.”

There are a few things you can always count on during every Supergirl episode: Kara’s curls will always look flawless, no matter how fast she’s flying. Cat Grant will deliver a one-liner better than anyone in National City.
And, most of all, the CBS series will make you really appreciate your family.
In this Monday’s episode, it wasn’t Kara’s evil aunt who was wreaking havoc, or Cat’s icy mother who was slinging insults. It was Winn’s homicidal father, Winslow Schott, Sr. — aka The Toyman, due to his toy-making past — that was causing all the trouble.

Channing Tatum has been getting a lot of praise in recent years for his acting in films, such as Foxcatcher, 22 Jump Street, and even, most recently, The Hateful Eight. However, I’m not sure if Tatum has ever given a better performance than the show he put on during this week’s Lip Sync Battle on Spike. Although, the actor did have a little bit of help from the Queen B herself, Beyoncé. Last night’s Lip Sync Battle was a duel between spouses, as Tatum and his wife, Jenna Dewan-Tatum (who is currently recurring as Lucy Lane on CBS’ Supergirl) went head-to-head in one of the show’s most fun battles

Supergirl is one of the first superhero TV shows to return in 2016, and CBS clearly won’t be holding back on big surprises for DC Comics fans in the New Year. Proving that is the new synopsis which has been released by them today, as it sheds some light on the introduction of a major new villain who Melissa Benoist’s Supergirl will be taking on for the first time.
Here’s the official synopsis for the episode – which is titled “Childish Things” – courtesy of the network:
“Kara does her best to support Winn when his father, the supervillain Toyman, breaks out of prison and seeks out his son for unknown reasons. Also, Cat offers Lucy a job at CatCo and Alex asks Hank to use his powers to help uncover Maxwell Lord’s plans, on Supergirl, Monday, Jan. 18 (8:00-9:00 Pm, Et/Pt) on the CBS Television Network.

When the pictures of Red Tornado on Supergirl first appeared on the Internet, fans were in an uproar. The opinions, like most things said about Supergirl before its premiere, were not positive. As we know, though, most of those naysayers were wrong about the show. Supergirl is a delightfully charming show that stands up there with the best of superhero TV.
This episode, "Red Faced," sees the introduction of Red Tornado, so are fans equally wrong about him? Yes ... well, kind off ... um, define "wrong." Supergirl's heart is in its right place, but the execution of its feminist message leaves much to be desired...
This review contains spoilers.
1.5 How Does She Do It?
Delayed from last week and aired in Thanksgiving week in the Us, How Does She Do It? seems designed not to be seen by many people. That's a shame, mainly because the fourth episode of any first season is usually a good indicator of whether a show will be good, bad or average. I was curious to see this instalment, then, if only to clarify a few things about Supergirl in general.
It starts off badly, with Kara declaring that she finally feels like she can 'have it all' - a genuine line of dialogue in a show about female empowerment. I feel like everytime Supergirl does something like this a kitten dies. It's this kind of clumsy...

Three new clips have been released from this Monday’s episode of Supergirl, and while they all shed some light on what we should expect from the episode, by far the most exciting thing here is seeing Red Tornado in action. While his appearance has been widely mocked by comic book fans, it’s fair to say that he looks much better here than we expected him to.
In Supergirl, Red Tornado will be a military cyborg commissioned by Lucy Lane’s father, General Sam Lane (Glenn Morshower), and when personal and professional stress get the better of Kara, it sounds like she ends up going too far when the young hero is pitted against him in a training exercise.

Kara Danvers has fought a lot of villains on "Supergirl", each with different strengths and skills. In the upcoming episode, "Red Faced", Kara has to fight not just a villain, but a military combat device gone rogue. This device is known as the "Red Tornado". It is a military-grade combat robot developed by General Lane. This device has the super strength of a terminator, and will be an intense adversary for Kara (Melissa Benoist) to take down. The episode title, "Red Faced", may allude not only to the literal red-faced cyborg, but also to Kara overcoming multiple embarrassments, including being yelled at by General Lane and her boss Cat Grant. Check out the synopsis and the trailer for "Red Faced" below: Personal and professional stress get the better of Kara when she goes too far during a training exercise against Red Tornado, a military cyborg commissioned by Lucy Lane’s father,...

Don’t worry, Supergirl fans, you’re not losing your collective minds.
Though Monday’s installment of the CBS drama seems to take a giant step backwards, storytelling-wise, it’s merely the result of last week’s decision to swap “How Does She Do It?” with “Livewire” in the wake of terrorist attacks in Paris.
So let’s all pretend, for the next few paragraphs, that we don’t already know James and Lucy are going to rekindle their relationship, or that Hank is up to some funny business at the Deo, or that Cat will eventually take a liking…...

Livewire is Supergirl's best episode since its pilot, and the first to indicate that the show knows what it's doing in the long-term...
This review contains spoilers.
1.4 Livewire
We missed some things in that fourth as-yet-unaired episode of Supergirl but it's clear from Livewire that it did a few things right. As it stands, this hour follows the low point of episode three, and is thus a marked improvement in the show's tone, content and general grasp of its own identity.
It's been hinted at before, but it's obvious now that Supergirl is interested in exploring the idea of mother figures, from Alex's relationship with Kara to their joint, strained connection with Eliza Danvers. There's also Cat Grant, who treats the young women around her as blank slates to write on, taking credit for their triumphs and their failures, and the looming threat of Astra Zor-El.

A bit of housekeeping first: "Livewire" was supposed to air next week, when the Thanksgiving theme would be more timely than it is now. However, the original fourth episode, "How Does She Do It?" was pushed back after CBS decided its terrorism-themed plot would be in poor taste following the tragic attack in Paris. We'll see that episode next week instead. If the switch causes any continuity mix-ups, they'll be negligible. If no one told you that Supergirl skipped an episode, you almost wouldn't be able to tell. The only plot point that sticks out involves James Olsen and Lucy Lane's relationship; after Lucy arrived at the end of last week's episode, the two are suddenly back together and about to take a trip out of town for the holiday. But we're getting ahead of ourselves. After trouncing a "havoc-wreaking lady-beast thing," Kara hurries back to her apartment because...

As you and your family gather ’round the Thanksgiving table next week, and Grandma launches into an uncomfortable political rant after Glass of Wine No. 4, just remind yourself of one thing: You’re having a way better Turkey Day than Kara Danvers.
Not only did Monday’s Thanksgiving episode deliver an energetic new villain to Supergirl‘s doorstep, but Kara spent the holiday mediating a fight between her sister and her foster mom, Eliza (played by former Supergirl Helen Slater) — and not even Winn’s puppy-dog eyes could distract Kara from the fact that James was on a romantic Thanksgiving getaway with Lucy.

The last time Supergirl viewers saw Kara Danvers, her heart had just cracked a bit at the sight of James Olsen with his ex, Lucy Lane — his beautiful, kind and intelligent ex, no less.
In tonight’s episode of the CBS drama (8/7c), the titular heroine’s love life will have only gotten more complicated. In fact, because the network opted to reshuffle its episode order and air “Livewire” in place of “How Does She Do It?” — a choice made in the wake of Friday’s terrorist attacks in Paris — James and Lucy will have (spoiler alert!) already rekindled their relationship.

Following the tragic attacks on Paris, CBS has opted to pull the episode of Supergirl that was originally intended to air this coming Monday. The episode titled “How Does She Do It?” was to follow Supergirl as she thwarted several bombings throughout National City. Apparently, the network felt the subject matter hit a little too close to home and decisions like this are not exactly unheard of in the history of broadcast television.
In its place, CBS will air “Livewire,” a Thanksgiving themed episode originally intended to air on Monday, November 23. Featuring the villain of the same name, it’s an episode that many Supergirl fans have been looking forward to.
CBS has hastily released a promo video for the moved up episode as well as a plot summary, which can be seen below:
Kara’s Thanksgiving may be ruined when she suspects her foster mother, Dr. Danvers (Helen Slater), who is coming to town,...

With a new episode of Supergirl set to air on Monday, CBS has today released two brand new clips and a promo for the fourth instalment of the series. This one won’t feature a villain from the comic books though, as Kara will instead be squaring off with a much more human threat as National City falls victim to a series of bombings.
The clips below focus on that (along with more of the mysterious Maxwell Lord; is he friend or foe to Supergirl) and Kara’s attempts to look after Cat’s difficult son.

The first official images from the sixth episode of Supergirl have been revealed, and they offer up our best look yet at Red Tornado. A hero in the comic books, it was initially reported that he would be a villain in the CBS series, but the recently released description for “Red Faced” shed some light on his actual role.

CBS has released the first official description and image for the upcoming sixth episode of Supergirl. This one is set to air on the same day as Gotham‘s midseason finale, which may just prove to be pretty tough competition in the ratings.
However, Supergirl has so far forged a really strong identity of its own, and while there are a few kinks which definitely need to be worked out over the coming weeks and months, it’s so far proving to be a great addition to Warner Bros.’ slate of DC Comics projects on the small screen (it feels so close to Arrow and The Flash that it’s hard not get mad that The CW decided against picking it up).
Here’s the description of the episode – titled “Red Faced” – which is set to put Supergirl against Red Tornado:
