Numero Group is finally giving Majesty Crush their flowers with Butterflies Don’t Go Away, an upcoming double-lp collection commemorating the oft-overlooked shoegazers’ beloved discography.
Majesty Crush formed in Detroit in 1990 and were opening for bands like Mazzy Star and Royal Trux shortly thereafter. After a few smaller releases, including 1992’s Fan EP, the quartet signed with Elektra subsidiary Dali Records. But when Dali folded less than a month after putting out Majesty Crush’s sole LP Love 15, their bright future burned out fast.
Out March 29th, Butterflies Don’t Go Away compiles all of Majesty Crush’s material, from Love 15 to various singles to the Fan EP (the latter of which will be available digitally for the very first time on February 20th). Pre-orders for the double-lp are ongoing, and as a preview, Numero and Majesty Crush have shared the Fan EP version of one of their best-known tracks,...

The 2011 PollyGrind Film Festival recently wrapped up in Las Vegas, and the madman behind the scenes, Chad Clinton Freeman, checked in with Dread Central to share with us exclusively the winners of this year's fest.
Reveling in everything from arthouse to grindhouse to everything in between, PollyGrind has quickly made a name for itself as one of the up-and-coming premiere genre fests out there due to the success of each year of programming. This year's big winners (and flicks that will no doubt go on to find audiences soon) include the highly controversial The Bunny Game, The Super, Dear God No!, The Gruesome Death of Tommy Pistol and Ratline.
"I was very happy with the quantity of quality films and the diversity I was able to program this year," Freeman said. "Being able to world premiere films like Mondo Sexxxx: The Terry Kobrah Story and The Gruesome Death of Tommy Pistol,...

The 2nd annual PollyGrind assaults Las Vegas during an epic length film festival that runs Oct. 8-17 at Theatre 7 with enough sleaze and violence to make Sin City residents feel right at home.
Actually, the fest does open up on the 7th with a concert at Neon Venus with local acts like Monster Zero, Creepersin and many more.
However, the film portion of the fest opens on the 8th with Stuart Simpson‘s acclaimed Australian gorefest El Monstro Del Mar!, one of the best Russ Meyer/Roger Corman mash-ups with a Down Under twist. Read the Bad Lit: The Journal of Underground Film review of this gem here.
Other Bad Lit favorites in the lineup are Drew Bolduc and Dan Nelson‘s The Taint, which is still completely grossing out audiences on the festival circuit, and The Uh-Oh Show, the splatter-filled horror comedy by the Godfather of Gore himself Herschell Gordon Lewis.

The Insane Clown Posse made their festival comeback this past weekend at Bamboozle, alongside acts like Lil Wayne, Bruno Mars and Wiz Khalifa. Now, Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope are set to make their musical return, too, with their upcoming album, The Mighty Death Pop!.
The LP marks Icp's second time working with longtime producer Mike E. Clark since their reconciliation. And while the duo haven't locked in a release date yet, they say they aren't looking to rush things, either.
"It don't have no official release date for right now, but we ain't rushing nothing," Shaggy told MTV News at Bamboozle. "We're taking our time. We're doing what we do in the studio, coming out...

The men from 30 Seconds to Mars weren't the only group dropping a huge video on Monday (November 29). Underground rap legends, viral superstars and friends of MTV News Insane Clown Posse dropped a new video explaining a few big projects for the month of December. Not only is the group headed out on the road for their Old S--- Tour, but they are also hosting a toy drive. All throughout the month, the duo will be collecting toys and kids' hats, gloves and scarves from Juggalos at shows and via the good old-fashioned postal service. In return, those donating will receive a free compilation CD called Holiday Heat, which collects a handful of Christmas-themed tracks from Icp, Twiztid and the rest of the Psychopathic label roster (including tracks like "Murdercity Christmas," "Ryda Holiday" and "Santa's a Fat B----").
Of course, it wouldn't be an Icp announcement without a fantastically low-fi video...

Fangoria Musick just heard from Insane Clown Posse (Icp) with the news that their newest album, Bang! Pow! Boom!, debuted at No. 4 on Billboard Top 200, with 50,000 records sold during its release week. Additionally, the record debuted at No. 1 on the Independent Chart. Read our recent interview with Violent J right here.
To date, Bang! Pow! Boom! is Icp's best selling album upon release, which also makes it Psychopathic Records' best selling album during its week of release. This album is Icp's second album to debut at No. 4 on the Billboard Charts, and second album to debut at No. 1 on the Independent Chart. Collectively, Icp's catalog has sold over 7 million records worldwide. These figures, combined with the latest Bang! Pow! Boom! numbers are quite impressive for any band. However, what is even more remarkable is that Icp has achieved notable success without any major radio and television airplay.
It is no surprise that Bang!
