After achieving invincibility and stripping top warrior Nameless (Kenny Ho) of all his powers, the impossibly evil Lord Godless (Simon Yam) kidnaps the Emperor (Patrick Tam) and appears without obstacle in his quest to conquer all of China. Nameless tells warriors Cloud (Aaron Kwok) and Wind (Ekin Cheng) that only Lord Wicked (Kenny Wong) has the power to defeat Godless now, a warrior so overcome by "the evil way" he was forced to cut off his own arms to avoid becoming totally consumed.

The Hong Kong entertainment industry is filled with actors/actress that happens to be accomplished Cantopop singer themselves and so its quite common for him/her to sing the main theme for their respective film. In the case of the highly anticipated Pang bros' The Storm Warriors, the two main leads - Aaron Kwok and Ekin Cheng - are reunited to perform a duet for its music video and while some may not find it musically pleasing to their ear, it may compensate with footage containing entirely of eye candy goodness.
Japanese evil warlord, Lord Godless desired to conquer China and imprisoned a large number of martial artists to make them subjugate. Among the prisoners were Cloud and the martial arts legend Nameless. The trio including Wind who came to the rescue was badly wounded.

Like CGI martial arts? You’re in luck, because another trailer for The Pang Brothers’ “The Storm Warriors” (aka “The Storm Riders 2″) has landed online. Let’s face it, “The Storm Warriors” is one of those movies where you know exactly where you stand on it — you either love the crazy, outrageous CGI-doused martial arts, or you think it’s pretty awful. Luckily, I happen to love this stuff, so without further ado, here’s more of Wind and Cloud and their battle against the evil Lord Godless. Yes, those are actual character names from the movie. See what I mean? You’re either in or you’re out. So what’s it gonna be? Japanese evil warlord Lord Godless (Simon Yam) desires to conquer China and imprisons a large number of martial artists trying to make them subjugate. Among the prisoners are Cloud (Aaron Kwok) and the martial arts »

If you’re not psyched to see the Pang Brothers’ “The Storm Warriors” (their pseudo sequel to Wai-keung Lau’s 1998 hit “The Storm Riders”), then you just don’t appreciate crazy, overly stylized Chinese martial arts movies. Hey, it’s up to you. I personally think watching people do ridiculous kung fu moves like throwing hundreds of swords at each other and creating invisible forcefields that would make Darth Vader jealous is kinda fun. Check out two clips from the movie that have been floating around YouTube. Japanese evil warlord Lord Godless (Simon Yam) desires to conquer China and imprisons a large number of martial artists trying to make them subjugate. Among the prisoners are Cloud (Aaron Kwok) and the martial arts elder statesman Nameless (Kenny Ho). Wind (Ekin Cheng) comes to their rescue and the trio is badly wounded by Lord Godlesss evil martial arts attack. The remaining martial »

I'm coming a bit late to the table on this one, but as a fan of all things awesome and Asian I feel compelled to alert you about something happening over at the Sundance Channel this month. And yes, "this month" is August, and yes, August only has a week left... I did say I was late to the table didn't I? Sundance Channel has a long-standing affection for Asian cinema and demonstrates it on a weekly basis with Asia Extreme, which is their series of some of the best genre films Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, and Thailand have to offer. They run the gamut from horror, crime, drama, and just plain crazy-ass flicks, and have included excellent titles like Audition, Breaking News, Save the Green Planet, and The Bow. They're doing something a bit different this month though, and it involves premiering their new season of several brand new titles on Pay-Per-View for free. I »

Body Count: Volume 11 - Because of the nature of my website and the fact that a bulk of the writing is dedicated to the horror genre, it is often assumed that Cinema Suicide is all about horror. And you have no idea how much that bugs me. The original mission was a website in celebration of genres and trashy stuff but it just so happens that most of the goofy stuff that produces news these days is in the horror genre. But did you know that I also love kung fu movies? Yeah! I totally do! I love The Shaw Brothers, Jackie Chan, Bruce Lee, Jimmy Wang Yu, Donny Yen, Gordon Liu, etc. So I'm going to twist this week's Bodycount to suit my frustration with being pigeonholed as the resident horror guy and throw some Asian spice into the mix. This week, it's all about horror with a chop socky twist. »

Let’s face it, when some guy name Lord Godless shows up wanting to do damage, it’s your duty to get up and knock him down a couple of pegs. And hey, if you happen to know those fancy martial arts that lets you fly and hop around mountains, that’s cool, too. Check out some new footage and two trailers (one a teaser) from the Pang Brothers’ (to my knowledge) first martial arts movie, “The Storm Warriors”, a sequel to 1998’s “The Storm Riders”. In the sequel, super warriors Wind and Cloud (returning players Ekin Cheng and Aaron Kwok) find themselves up against a ruthless Japanese warlord name Lord Godless (Simon Yam) intent on invading China. The sequel will co-star Nicholas Tse as Heart, Charlene Choi as Second Dream, Suet Lam as Piggy King, and Yan Tang as Muse. Bros Oxide Pang Chun and Danny Pang, most known »

The Storm Riders is back on DVD! Ten years on (and conveniently before the upcoming sequel is due) it’s now being re-released in a very spiffy 2 disc 10th anniversary re-mastered special edition. A true blockbuster martial arts fantasy The Storm Riders broke box office records galore on its release in 1998. Based on Ma Wing Shing's best-selling comic and directed by Andrew Lau (Infernal Affairs), the film boasted some of the most cutting edge special effects ever seen in a Hong Kong film. Throw into the mix a ton of wire-fu action from young stars Ekin Cheng (Young and Dangerous) and Aaron Kwok (After This, Our Exile) and they couldn’t really go wrong. »
