Sir Alex Ferguson has declared Cristiano Ronaldo as the ultimate Galectico, claiming players such as Roberto Carlos and Zidane Zidane were never as good as what the Real Madrid star is now.
Ronaldo, 28, was sold to Real Madrid for a world-record £80 million from Manchester United in 2009 and despite being a huge threat to United’s Champions League hopes, Sir Alex Ferguson has heaped praise on the Portuguese.
Ronaldo scored 118 goals in just six years for The Red Devils, but then smashed his personal record by scoring 182 times in 179 games for Spanish giants Real Madrid in just four years.
Sir Alex said:
“Florentino Perez had all the Galacticos at Real Madrid when he was president first time around. He had Figo, Zidane, Roberto Carlos, Raul in that spell. But I don’t think any of those players were as good as Ronaldo.”
He continued:
‘Zidane was a fantastic player, Figo was a fantastic player.

5) Evil Nine feat. Danny Brown “The Black Brad Pitt”
Directed by ?
This is a really visually interesting, entertaining music video. The track itself is really weird and hilarious but still infectious at the same time. The first thirty seconds consist of really well executed teaser-shots of the jungle. Brown is nowhere to be seen but the main concept consists of a really aggressive break-dancing soldier. Still featuring classic elements of the genre, there are also cutaways of an alluring woman, and jewels not to mention a leader figure.
4) Helado Negro “Dance Ghost”
Directed by David Kessler
Relocating from Miami to Savanna, “Dance Ghost” is dominated by those familiar tropical yet dark vibes, Roberto Carlos Lange provides. The video documents the underbelly of paradise made up of interesting visuals ranging from seedy dance clubs to church performances. Towering hotels in the background are strongly juxtaposed with the street life Lange grew up with.

A Brazilian wonderkid – a rare player every football fan secretly wishes their team had. They may not be known for their reliability or work-rate but their creative genius and ability on the ball is world-renowned. Maybe it’s the single name (Neymar, Ronaldo, Pele etc.) but there’s always been something more enthralling and exciting about a Brazilian; something the effort or enthusiasm of a Grant Holt or Scott Parker can never quite make up for.
The worldwide appeal and wealth of the Champions League has proved vital in drawing the major South American stars to Europe. It hasn’t always been this way. The legendary Pele spent most of his career playing for Santos, while Zico – one of the best players of the late seventies and early eighties – transformed Flamengo into one of the best sides in the world, even destroying Liverpool 3-0 in the Intercontinental Cup in 1981.

1. Zinedine Zidane
Who else would be more suitable to begin this feature? The man from Marseille is quite possibly the finest player to ever grace the game. For eighteen seasons he beguiled opponents with his unfathomable trickery, further enforced by an exquisite grasp of how football should be played. Not only that, Zidane was a terrific passer, tough as old boots, and capable of scoring wonderful goals that appeared from even the most adverse situations. The finest example of Zidane’s ethereal qualities were exemplified in the 2002 Champions League Final, when he elegantly volleyed Roberto Carlos’ corner into the top left of the goal with his weaker foot to secure a 2-1 victory over Bayer Leverkusen.
It was at Juventus where he forged a formidable reputation, further enhanced by his brace in the 1998 World Cup Final, and in 2001 he sealed a 45 million pound move to Real Madrid, where he was...

According to ITV Sport, Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala have had a €70 million bid rejected for Atletico Madrid star Radamel Falcao.
The Colombian striker scored 24 league goals last season for his Spanish club and became the first player to score 36 goals in all competitions in his debut season, a new club record.
Financially stable Anzhi Makhachkala are not the only team interested in the 26-year-old with Chelsea reportedly looking to add to their attack having only Fernando Torres and Daniel Sturridge as clear strikers.
Falcao has begun the new season of La Liga positivity having scored three times in just two games and also performed impressively in the UEFA Super Cup against Chelsea which because of his hat-trick Atletico won 4-1.
It looks like Falcao won’t be joining the likes of Roberto Carlos and Samuel Eto at Anzhi Makhachkala anytime soon, and with Atletico rejected the €70 million bid suggests he...

With the end of the season only a few games away and the Premier League title all but decided next week, this can mean only one thing… The Transfer Window is opening!
Let me define the Transfer Window for those who are unfamiliar with such a phenomenon. It depends whether you are following ‘real’ football, or if you are manager of England, yet wearing nothing your underpants on your day off from work.
If you are playing computer game football, notably Championship Manager, the Transfer Window is where you look at your finances, make bids for players that will Never want to sign for you, and end up signing way too many Swedish under 21s. Most of them end up a flop, but the one that turns out to be bought for 20k and sold for £7 million makes it all worth while.
However, in ‘real’ football, the Transfer Window is slightly less exciting.

Blackburn Rovers captain Christopher Samba is on the verge of joining Russian side Fc Anzhi Makhachkala in a £12 million deal, according to the Telegraph.
27 year old Congo international Samba has been desperate to leave Blackburn since he handed in a transfer request and was frustrated when a move to Queens Park Rangers and Tottenham Hotspur in the January Transfer Window was blocked by Rovers’ big price-tag. He hasn’t played for the club since January 2nd with Rovers boss Steve Keen proclaiming that his head wasn’t right for selection.
Now it looks like his desire to leave Ewood Park is finally about to happen. The Russian transfer window closes tonight, a few weeks after the Premier League mid-season window and it is believed a deal was struck between the two clubs and Samba just needs to agree personal terms.

Arsenal came away with a very good win against Didier Deschamps’ group leaders Marseille at the Stade Velodrome in the Champion’s league. A last minute winner from Aaron Ramsey gave Arsene Wenger’s side the three points after a solid performance which turned to near domination in a quiet second half. The French side started brightly but all but fizzled out after half time, allowing Arsenal to finally break the deadlock.
Arsene Wenger is no stranger to French football, but the Marseille he knew back in his days of Ligue 1 management were relegated for bribery and match fixing. Their chairman Bernard Tapie was thrown in jail, and Wenger, manager of Monaco at the time, left the league and continued his management career in Japan. Tonight saw his return to the Stade Velodrome though, this time at the helm of Arsenal and the Marseille he faced, now managed by Didier Deschamps,...

Football Manager 2012 is Sports Interactive's latest entry in its definitive sports management franchise. The Sega-published series has led the way in the genre since its first iteration hit in 2005, despite stiff competition from Eidos Interactive's Championship Manager. FM 2012 features countless playable clubs from more than 50 nations, and boasts improvements across the board. Digital Spy took to the dugout to see if we've got another league leader on our hands. Football Manager has long been renowned for its attention to detail, and the 2012 version is no exception. All of the top leagues from around the world are represented (as are many of the most obscure), and there are enough real-life players, managers, coaching staff and media outlets on its books to make your head spin faster than one of Roberto Carlos's free-kicks. Back (more)...

Zidane: A 21st Century Portrait. I watched Zidane: A 21st Century Portrait again over the weekend—this time on disc, so I had the chance to watch all the added features, including an interview with Zidane himself. If you missed it when it was showing briefly a year ago or so at Anthology Film Archives and the Brooklyn Academy of Music, you can catch it again at Bam in early June in the run-up to this year’s Cup. It’s more than worth seeing—it’s riveting soccer verité, focused completely on one extraordinarily compelling character: Zinedine Zidane. Multiple cameras follow him in real time through a La Liga match with Real Madrid against Villareal in April 2005. (You can also spot the supporting characters of that time: Zidane’s “galáctico” teammates David Beckham, Raúl, Ronaldo, and Roberto Carlos; as well as then Villareal players Juan Román Riquelme and Diego Forlán.
