John Mackey, the CEO and founder of Whole Foods, didn’t eat any vegetables growing up.
He discovered his love of veg in his 20s, just a few years before starting the health foods store. Now Mackey shares his story, and the benefits of a plant-based lifestyle, in his new book, The Whole Foods Diet: The Lifesaving Plan for Health and Longetivity.
“In my 20s, I moved into a vegetarian co-op and that was the beginning of my own food consciousness journey. I was a very picky eater. I never ate vegetables, but within a pretty short period of time I became a vegetarian,...

An editor from the New York Times has apologized to Donald Trump after the president called out the paper for a misleading tweet about the crowd size at the New England Patriots’ recent White House visit. “Bad tweet by me. Terrible tweet. I wish I could say it’s complicated, but no, this one is pretty straight forward. I’m an idiot,” sports editor Jason Stallman said in a statement issued to Yahoo’s Colin Campbell. President Donald Trump‘s administration on Wednesday revoked Obama-era guidelines telling public schools to allow transgender students to use the bathrooms and locker rooms that correspond with their gender identities.
But Trump hasn’t always been on this side of the transgender rights issue.
In April 2016, after North Carolina enacted HB2, a sweeping law banning people from using bathrooms that don’t match the sex indicated on their birth certificate, Trump said the state had made a mistake.
Transgender people should “use the bathroom they feel is appropriate,” Trump, then the Gop presidential frontrunner, said on the Today show at the time.

In Colin Campbell's intense and well shot The Sound of Fear, a young deaf woman inadvertently witnesses a murder and ends up on the run, racing through town and looking for help from people she can't communicate with. It's a great premise for a thriller made even more authentic by the fact that actress Sandra Mae Frank is actually deaf. Calling to mind recent horror hits like Don't Breathe and Mike Flanagan's Hush, The Sound of Fear offers an interesting twist on the home invasion genre. The sequence below is taken from the feature length project. It was filmed in the hopes of drumming up additional support for the film, so if you like what you see, do share and re-post! ...

Game of Thrones is only two episodes into season 6 – but the show has already dropped quite the bombshell.
Warning: This story contains spoilers for Sunday's episode of Game of Thrones, "Home."
At the end of Sunday's episode, Jon Snow (Kit Harington) opens his eyes with help from Melisandre (Carice Van Houten), who (apparently) has brought him back to life. A family of four was found killed in a burning Florida home owned by tennis star James Blake.
Neighbors were woken up early Wednesday morning by explosions at the Tampa, Fla., 5-bedroom home, and called firefighters who arrived at the scene when the house was already completely engulfed in flames. According to Hillsborough County Sherriff Col. Donna Lusczynski, the fire appears to have been set intentionally and was aided by fireworks scattered throughout the house. Though two of the four victims were reportedly found with upper-body trauma, the nature of their injuries has been kept out of the media and the authorities have not yet ruled the case a murder.
However, a different report claimed that firefighters found the family of four shot and dead in their bedrooms, and that someone had doused the home, and the bodies, in fire accelerant. Journalist Meredyth Censullo reported that a source saw the...

Former Pop Idol star Darius has explained why he has switched his surname from Danesh to Campbell. The 'Colourblind' singer, who originally found fame on ITV1 reality series Popstars, admitted that he was inspired to change his name by his 78-year-old grandad Colin Campbell. "I've reached a stage in my life where I ask, 'Who am I?'" he told the Daily Record. "Before Christmas, I visited my grandad. He is originally from Greenock and he sang 'The Green Oak Tree' to me. He sang it in such a way it brought tears to my eyes. He was in tears at the end of it as well. "He said to me, 'I am proud of you. No matter where you are in the world, you'll always be a Campbell. You'll always be a Scot and you'll (more)...

There’s a mixed bag waiting for Disney fans with Volume 5 of the Disney Classic Short Films collection. On one hand you have the unforgettable The Wind in the Willows with the awesome J. Thaddeus Toad and a genuinely touching version of The Ugly Duckling. But then you have four more cartoons all on the older spectrum making it hard to say whether or not the younger ones in your life will be able to sit still. This volume has the highest concentration of older cartoons as well as a newer cartoon that most kids won’t really latch onto – so I don’t think it’s too much of a stretch to say that older children will get more out of this volume than the youngest ones.
The Wind in the Willows (1949)
Directed by James Algar & Jack Kinney, Written by Winston Hibler & Kenneth Grahame
God, what can really be said about this incredible classic.

Feeder has praised the driver who was at the helm of their tour bus when it burst into flames at the weekend. The group's touring crew were on an overnight journey from Glasgow to Lincoln when driver Colin Campbell saw flames coming from the back of the vehicle. Campbell immediately pulled onto the hard shoulder and woke those on board. No sooner was everyone safely out of the bus than it exploded into a ball of flames. Frontman Grant Nicholas told NME: "It's terrifying to think what might have happened, just shocking. (more)...
