Scott Cam has said that he could not survive without his wife Ann. The Australian television presenter, who is best known as the host of renovation reality show The Block, said that it was "love at first sight" when he met Ann in 1989. They have now been together for 22 years. Scott told Woman's Day magazine: "It was love at first sight. I went home and told my mum I'd met the girl I was going to marry." Ann said: "The first date he talked the whole time, which is what I liked about him because I'm a bit quieter and more shy." The couple have 14-year-old Charlie and 11-year-old twins Bill and Sarah together, and Scott describes Ann as a "great mum and tremendous wife", adding: "She looks after me and has (more)...

Scott Cam has revealed that he has lost 10kg. The 49-year-old television presenter, who recently returned to Aussie screens for the latest season of renovation show The Block, said that it was a "good feeling" when he started eating healthily and cycling to work. Cam told Woman's Day magazine: "I think my wife Ann looks after me too well when I'm home. I was away from her for a couple of months while I was in Melbourne, so I had to fend for myself. I didn't have all those little nice things in the cupboard like cakes and biscuits. "Instead, I was eating lots of fresh food and smaller portions. I'd just buy exactly what I needed to eat and nothing more." Cam revealed that the best way to get around Melbourne suburb Richmond while filming The Block was on his bicycle, (more)...

Prospective contestants for The Block 2012 can already apply on the show's official website. The Herald Sun reports that next year's version is likely to be be shot in Melbourne again after a production source claimed that producers have purchased four properties in the southern suburbs. Scott Cam has revealed that he is not worried about new Channel Ten show The Renovators. The Australian television personality, who is best known as the host of the Nine Network's renovation show The Block, said that they will keep their series "ticking along" regardless of how many other "copycat" shows premiere on rival networks. Cam told The Daily Telegraph: "To be honest I don't have a clue about The Renovators... what the format will be or how it will look. We're just going to keep doing our show and keep ticking along. There's always going to be copycat (more)...

This year's season of The Block has begun. The Australian version of the renovation series, which sees real couples compete against each other to give properties a makeover, began with two couples going head-to-head to secure a permanent spot in the competition. The Block usually begins with four couples in four apartments, but host Scott Cam recently revealed that they were hoping to make the show more exciting by putting eight couples through various 24-hour renovation challenges throughout this week. The number of couples will then gradually be cut down to four. In last night's episode of The Block, Jenna and Josh from Melbourne went up against Perth's Shannon and Aaron to decorate a pair of prefabricated rooms in an abandoned warehouse. Shannon said: "I felt (more)...

Scott Cam has revealed that he is very excited about this year's season of The Block. The Australian home makeover show, which began in 2003 and was taken off air but returned for a fourth season last year, has been extended and will now be on television screens five nights a week. The show's host Cam has announced that the programme will start with eight couples instead of four, they will be renovating houses rather than apartments and presenter Shelley Craft will be joining the series to host various challenges. Cam told The Daily Telegraph: "I think the show always had enough elements to go five nights a week and we missed out on a lot of great [TV] because we didn't have the time."
He revealed that locals in the Melbourne suburb where the houses are located are excited because the houses were (more)...
